I’m in the USA and I haven’t had any trouble getting heat lamps or bulbs. Everytime I’ve been in the pet stores and conventions I’ve never seen them not being sold.
There are places that are struggling to get stock of certain bulbs. At my local stores no zoomed heat bulbs are in stock and even exo terra is spotty. Arcadia is spotty, thrive is really the only one i can find in full stock for now
In Wisconsin our shops are having trouble finding the heat lamp even ordering out of state. It’s scary here at the moment. Everyone is demanding all light bulbs be LED bulbs.
In California we've been looking for replacement bulbs but were out of luck; we thought it was just bad stocking, we hadn't realized there had a been a ban. This explains alot.
It's cause it's not legislation, it's a rule the Biden administration put in place. So there wasn't the same kind of legal stuff/debate that had to happen for it go in place.
Can you make an updated lighting guide? All this lighting and heating is so confusing! I need someone to just tell me exactly what to get for my leopard gecko and crested gecko. I've got stuff that I've been told is fine, but I want to give them the best care possible, not just fine. It's really confusing for me. I'm on the autism spectrum and I have really bad anxiety so I really just want someone to tell me exactly what to get. 😅 Also, yeah getting Arcadia products in the US is hard right now. Petsmart has some stuff still thats on clearance. Hopefully they start carrying Arcadia again soon! I hope petsmart hasn't just stopped carrying Arcadia products because I only have a petsmart in my area. No other pet stores in my area.
Light your reptiles and reptile basics tend to get a lot of Arcadia in. Heat wise I use the deep heat projector 50W but you can use 35w halogen. As for lighting/UV and supplements, if you scroll back on my channel or go to my website www.askleopardgecko.com I explain it there 😊
Kelvin is "color (colour) temperature". I remember when I got Chuck (my Garg) a couple years back and was doing research into lighting requirements. Thankfully having background in photography I knew what this is. I went down a rabbit hole researching different low wattage halogen and fluorescent bulbs of contrasting color spectrums and output. Halogen bulbs are still widely available here in the US. I also recommend looking into adjustable full spectrum LED "grow lights" which can not only help plants but also provide necessary UV. Education and local hardware stores can be a gold mine. You're videos were extremely helpful and I remember how hard it was to find *any* Arcadia lighting here in the US. I have never seen any Arcadia product here at any local store. PS - need more videos of Mantids! Orchid mantids are my fav! Cheers!
Ah cool, I will say switching from a CHE to a DHP was an absolutely game changer. A CHE pretty much just releases the same wavelengths as a heat mat, which aren't the most bioavailable.
Im completely renovating my gecko's tank i just need a heating option. I'm currently torn between a deep heat projector and the golden sun bulb. does anyone have any tips? Also im currently using a t5 shade dweller for my lighting but i dont have the dome that dims, should I invest in one? Sorry for all the questions i just want the best for my gecko.
Hi! I bought my leopard gecko about six months ago, and he’s not scared of me or anything. But when I put my hand in his terrarium, he tries to bite me. It’s not like how he hunts, where he freezes and strikes-he just slowly comes up to my hand and opens his mouth. What should I do? Should I back out or pull my hand away, or is there something else I should be doing?
Has anyone been able to obtain the Arcadia uvb bulbs/kits in the US? My beardie is getting a 4x2x2 tank upgrade, and I was hoping to get the 39watt bearded dragon fixture/lamp. If anyone can let me know where I can buy the kit, please let me know!! :)
Arcadia doesn't sell directly. If you see a shop on Amazon called 'Arcadia', it has nothing to do with the company. But Light Your Reptiles and Reptile basics stock Arcadia, along with a few independent shops.
YESSS SHE HAS POSTED!!! I have a question maybe you could answer. So i ordered this substrate called “Tera sehera” I’ve done my research and I’m just wondering if you think it would be healthy for a leo it hasn’t come yet but yeah! If you have an answer could you please answer also I love all your vids you inspired me to get a leopard gecko ! 🦎 love you so much @leopard gecko! ❤🎉
Aw thank you :) I think that's the biodude's substrate, not sure if we have it over here, so I've never tried it. I use EarthMix Arid with my leos but I'm not sure thats available in the US.
Bruh not me finding out about some bs my government decided to do that screw's us over from someone from an entirely different country. Guess that's the benefit of being paranoid and always stocking up on things. Do you know if this affects uvb too? I don't have much of a stock of them cuz of an electric issue so I'm gonna have to find some if they are gonna disappear
Thank you for keeping us updated!!
No problem :)
Working for Arcadia must be a dream. Congrats. I clicked on one of their videos a while back and was very pleased to hear your dulcet voice.

That’s good, I know a lot are beginning to be pulled so just in case all the old ones go, the new ones are ready to go.
@@leopardgeckotalk I just never heard anything about it. It’s news to me.

This still seems like an accidental oversight by lawmakers, since the heat is a desired output. But disappointing we haven't had a clarification yet.

Good info to share around. I've always used ceramic heat emitters. They last longer than most other heating options, at least for me.

New England reptile just shared Arcadia’s work around. I bought a bunch of the old ones.
my deep heat projector by arcadia was a game changer and i have had it for like 5 years with no problems.
Nice! I still have the original one from the launch all those years ago, still going strong :D
I didn’t know that. Weird. 😮
You should make a video about making a smoothie with live insects you have for your omnivores
I'll stick to OmniGold 😂 plus I'd have to buy a blender to do that haha
Hi
Question, I just got luminize t5 ShadeDweller 7% what profiles do you use for lepord gekos? Eg start sunrise max sunset off
Thanks 😊
Hey i live in the usa this really wasnt much of a thing we never struggled to find bulbs
Yeah just I think ZooMed bulbs got pulled from the shelves so only a few others were available for the time being.
My pet smarts took out all of their uvb bulbs aswell

I have a leopard gecko I love leopard geckos
I have two red heat bulbs don't know the wattage and I have two bright lights
I didn't notice and I'm in the US
Also fyi those colored bulbs will only be allowed for the next few years. Then even those will be banned, until current law

Does the effect mercury vapors?
Why only the states and Canada tho?
Because here and Europe don’t have a ban so we can stick to our normal heat lamps. No need to change them.
