  • Let's walk through the full process of designing, cutting, and building a cabinet with Easel Pro and the X-Carve Pro!
    *Note: We use tabs to hold the different cabinet pieces in place, we didn't go into detail on how to set those up in this video but we do have an entire dedicated video to that here: • Easel Tips - How to Us...

    I just found you guys and this is SUCH an awesome product, hope to get me one in the future when I get my own home. I work for a CMM, Coordinate Measuring Machine, software company so definitely respect all the work I can see from your software. Keep it up!!

    Great overview, didn't know about the cabinet making app. Will definitely check it out.
    Even though I've been using the xcarve for a few years, I still pick up new things from your videos!

    Can’t wait to put this to work for my business!! I’m in the middle of remodeling my home and now I feel confident in making my own cabinets!! Will there be a layout design future for this coming?

    This is great. Now you should do a drawer base

    Cool video. Did you change the design to full length sides in the end?

    Question about the shelf support pin locations... are they far enough apart to support the shelf or should there be more room between the two locating holes for support?

    • @zachkaplan4011
      @zachkaplan4011 Рік тому

      Those pins are the default location based on System 32. You can move them to any position you want if you prefer them in a different location using the Position input field on the Shape tab.

    what is max Z cutting hight? also- what is the widest piece of wood you could put between the rails? most 4X8 ply is 48.5" wide thank you

    Everything looks great in the finished cabinet except for the 2 rows of pins which are center and forward. Something on the back of the shelf would tip the shelf. My guess is changing the settings during recording and not getting them set back properly at cut time.
    After watching the video again I see the pins are center and front on the hinge side and center and rear on the other side. Was this a error in the software or a limitation of the software?

    Does this output standard gcode? How do I find post processors that are in it?

    Wow looks great... does the Cabinet app only do metric? if so is there an imperial cabinet app in the works?

    • @inventables
      @inventables  Рік тому

      At the moment the input is only in metric because these are European style cabinets and the system 32 framework is all in milimeters. You can switch to imperial once it is imported. Yes, we are in the process of researching what to do for Imperial cabinets.

    Is it possible to use dados instead of pins for the shelves? I should be stronger right?

    • @inventables
      @inventables  Рік тому

      Yep! We have a brand new cabinet making program in development that will incorporate those features.

    What if you set the corner to the origin of 0,0 but the sheet isn’t perfectly square?

    • @inventables
      @inventables  Рік тому

      It might be easier to carve from the center if you don't have perfectly square material.

      @jaycos5978 Рік тому

      @@inventables I see. so you can just set the corner of your first panel at 2,2 instead of 0,0. thanks!!

    I have the X-carve Pro and really haven't been able to use it cause I just can't pickup the functionality of Easel. I've used V-carve and Carbide Create and Easel is so much different. But with this video, here's what i don't get.....3/4" plywood is not .75 inches. Everyone knows that. So if a groove is set at .75, then there's gonna be too much slop. It won't be a tight enough fit. That's not good. Also, the cut-through set at .75 will go into the waste board way more than necessary.

    • @inventables
      @inventables  2 роки тому +1

      Great question! First you can set your material thickness at the top right inside of Easel. I had mine at .75 in just to keep it easy, but you would measure it with calipers and then enter it in there. For the groove in the wood that is getting calculated from the material thickness you put in inside the Cabinet Builder App (in the video I kept it .75 in or 19 mm). If you adjust that number it will affect the groove thickness. Also there is a tolerance settings at the bottom of the Cabinet app that will add an additional width to the groove to account for glue/material play.
      But in general for grooves I would recommend a pretty similar process to what you might already do manually with a dado blade on a table saw. Run a few test grooves on a scrap piece of material until you get a fit that works and then go with those settings.
