Looke like they gave Steve a Southpaw Stance. He's usually orthodox stance(left foot forward) but when he goes into the Southpaw Stance he puts his right foot forward and it gives him a launcher with his right hand. Nice that they added some more true-to-life boxing stuff to his kit.

I think the forward step in heat looked like it had powercrush armour on it which might be the heat specific mechanic tied to hit.

By brand new fighting style, I'm sure they meant his new Southpaw and Clech stances, which fighting southpaw is absolutely a new fighting style. Plenty different styles of boxing
If it's a murduk tackle type of mechanic it's still gonna be way more balanced than marduk ones, even if they make the initial grapple unbreakable because:
-1 you can still duck it
-2 it seems to be specific heat mechanic so it isn't always possible
It probably works like ganryu's. 1 break. 2 break or 1+2 break but the starting throw is unbreakable
The one move at 1:27 looks like Paul's UB2 that could be the imput maybe

That duck he did in heat looked like twice as fast as a normal duck. Idk maybe it’s just me, but it could imply that some of his ducking attacks are now fast enough to combo into

I was thinking that or maybe, a duck in heat automatically makes it into a faster version of an extended duck, thus the blue sparks. 🤔

@Rip 2:48 This looks like they reworked his Sway stance (b3 or B4) to look more like when a boxer pulls back. This is likely supposed to be his version of a pull counter.
I think t8 has an issue with lighting, during his heat burst he kinda looks more like t4/5 steve and you can see more of his face structure

@Rip 2:30 This is Steve's UB2. He had this in T7 but it wasn't hooming. I don't use it much since it's high and his jabs are better highs. I believe there was a version of this move in PKB stance, PKB2?

Granted the new combo extender is Flip but some characters still have a screw like attack such as Jin’s CH D2 and Steve’s attack here @4:47. I think that’s fine because not ever character had a bound attack from T6 carried into T7. Off the top of my head Bryan was one of the only characters to have a bound attack in T7. I liked the exclusivity of it.

@@zerolifez But because of the new bounce system, those moves have to be reworked. So i can say Shiro combo will be non-existent now.

law can do dss3 early in specific routes to get the pseudo tailspin hit effect though it is still way less useful than other characters' options for that

Looking at it again, Im not sure now. The animation on hit looks like running 2 to me, but maybe it IS just uf+2. But uf+2 should have been a launcher anyway, so to make that only a launcher with heat dash would be a strange choice.

There is nothing brand new about this Steve
Steve actullay story mode; is that he got into a fight in Liverpool, England while out with friends celebrating a friends birthday party, he had an intercarations with some unkown gang of lads from london, due to his injuries he was taken to a hospital nearby not known to him that the hospital was a military base run by the Mushimas, steve was kept captive and forced to fight for money and booze, he got so depressed that he start to fight only for booze until he met this old man an ex world champ from england who is doing life for killing 3 people with just once punch, this old man possesed an old book with some ancient boxing techniques, the old man was so good in boxing but could not read so he only learnt the skills by looking at the illustrations, before he passed away he handed the book to steve, steve learnt the ancient techniques and practised everyday until he got it right in time for tekken 8. hence why they reveal steve with new fighting style.
Cant wait to play him, I really wished he was in the beta. Gameplay aside, awful design. I think they got too much pride to change him, cause other devs would have already fixed

You know... would've been nice if steve had some sharp moves like Nina or stances like Leo Cause of his backstory in the games and then mix it with his boxing.
Would've fit better to the "finding a new fighting style also a sort of closure to his story or something🤔.
(you know 1 half of his story was looking for Nina and the other half cause Leo's mom was the caretaker/scientist when Steve was an experiment.)
