I’ll never NOT get chills when max reads out that letter, f’ing amazing show
Chills? I fucking cried
I'm so glad y'all stuck with this show, it's MAGNIFICENT. The writing, the character development, the acting, the production -- it's everything GOT wishes it was and I say this as a fan of both shows. Black Sails is legit one of the best shows (if not the best) that I've ever seen. It gets better and better each episode and it's CRIMINAL that the show was never given the awards/praise/popularity it so richly deserved. Enjoy season 4 y'all!
Keep in mind, those are smooth-bore muzzle-loading muskets. They are not as accurate as Hollywood would make you appear and there was few if any rifles. They lined up because that increased the precision and effectiveness of the musket. We of the 21st Century may look back and judge military tactics, but the people at the time knew what they were doing.
Such an amazing episode. The conversation between Silver and Flint is so important and so good !
That ending always gives me chills !
Blind Wave was right, eh?
They sure were. This show came outta nowhere for me.
Same, I was just looking through channels cause I had no idea what to watch and stumbled upon their reactions and thought „eh, why not“ and immediately fell in love with it and it’s now one of my absolute favorites
Blindwave is ALWAYS right
I'm glad you guys get as excited as I did watching this. 😃
It was a relatively short series but they used every minute of it So Well!
...and I both cant wait for you to see the finale and will be sad it's over again.
lol how is suraj just now noticing-princessmadi is who abrahamford was really referring to when he was talking about hypnotic
i never realized that before!anne really was femalevane this episode!
and yeah the music was really good
i forgot how much i love that round table scene at the end-love all the satisfaction with this finale!
WE'VE BEEN TELLING YOU THIS SHOW WAS FIRE SINCE FOREVER!!!!!
Captain Flint was only afraid of one man and that was Long John Silver. Well, that's what Silver claimed, anyway.
Silver has been telling tales right from the start of the show just to survive and then he transforms into the pirate who knows how to manipulate, just like he does in Treasure Island.
This show did such a stellar job in building up these characters and remaining true to the book.
Don't worry, Suraj - that happened to all of us. 😉
I LOVE YOUR HYPE SO MUCH. This show is literally everything for me.
The Anne Bonny love too
You guys should totally react to one of the Treasure Island movies after you finish the show, or the MASSIVELY underrated Treasure Planet
8:19 Hell Yeah! Screw you, Guthrie! xD..
This is a long comment, be warned
Man you can not believe how in awe I was of this episode when I first watched it, it was great to begin with great shots, character interactions like flint and silver (with them talking and the battle showing in between) or Blackbeard and jack , but man once silver revealed dobbs led the English where he told him and the „natives“ and our crew coming out of the ground till the end this turned into straight perfection, definitely one of the best episodes of anything I’ve seen in my life.(currently sharing my nr 5 spot for best episodes ever with an episode of another show where I can’t decide what I liked more)
I admit I shed a tear after the episode ended, not because it was so emotional but simply because I found it to be so great
#TeamFlint Forever!
anne bonne was super badass this ep this when i really started liking her. everything about this was amazing
So is Normie con cancelled?
can somebody explain suraj 'joke'? at 13:00
Boobs
He noticed how big Madi's boobs and the others realized his 'marveling', lol
Boobs
Am I the only one who prefers BlacK Sails over GoT?
Don't get me wrong, I love GoT, but I enjoy this setting even more.
For my money, no question Sails is the far superior show. It's tighter, more focused, no characters get shafted for development and the ending is perfect.
Mayyyyybe an unfair comparison if only because Black Sails is smaller in scope, smaller cast and doesn't have as many episodes. Had Black Sails gone on for 8 seasons, we might have not looked upon it so fondly. However it does show how important good dialogue is in a setting like this and ultimately what a clear vision can bring to tell a complete story that doesn't feel cheap. For my money, I prefer Black Sails over GOT.
GoT was so good and then the 2-3 last seasons just threw it out the door. When the books ended so did the show.
with it's budget compared to GoT? Yes. Plus, this is how you end a series.
GoT is imo the most overrated show ever; first time watching I stopped after season 1, then about a year later I watched through the whole show and watched s8 live; season 1 is alright but not that good, I have forgotten most about s2; season 3-4 are definitely the best and are really amazing, s5 is a step down, s6 has its moments and is better than 5 and has the best season finale of the show; 7 and 8 throw everything we learned to love about the show out of the window
Its not friendship... , Blackbeard cared for Vane like he would a son
We told you this is an amazing series, and yes, season 1 is slow, but it's also important because it sets up so much for what comes after. Really one of those rare shows that just keeps getting better and better and doesn't stop until the very end. Only 10 more episodes to go!
And IMO it's the best season. 4 > 2 > 1 > 3
@@MausPonticus 1 is better than 3?! Explain yourself!
Herro ok I seriously don’t understand this ranking
For me it’s 3 > 2=4 > 1
What’s your reasoning for putting season 3 (which is in my opinion a masterpiece) the lowest
season 1 isnt really slow if you ask me
Animusswtor i agree season 3 is the best one
I've never seen Marketa so happy to be wrong. 😁
I'm not objectifying; I'm marveling. LMAO
Yeah that was hilarious
And I'm right there with him. 😅
hornigold looks like a sexier version of the quaker oats man
Omg thanks
Imma be honest, in most reactions, Mikey is my compass of whether i like the reaction or not, so im glad hes loving this stupendously underrated show
Right on for the love fam! And it's Micky for future reference lol
I love the "Rogers is a good guy!" comments lol. Youuuuu'll see.
The guy has such terrible luck, I can't help but feel bad for him
I mean he was a good guy tho. Then he came to Nassau
@@KingKien95 He tortured and killed a whole crew in retaliation for murdering his brother lol. That was before Nassau. Not a good thing to do.
4:33 Suraj you watch too much TV, you can predict an episode structure now. :)
This show came out of nowhere for me similar to The last kingdom. After the first episode I wouldn’t have thought they’d be two of my favorite shows of all time.
@watashi I didn't like it either. I am a big fan of the books it is based on and seeing how they scrapped two books into one season was really bad idea imo.
Lmao I like how they all forgot why Dobbs was so expendable
"So they just lined up to get shot"
Oh, here we go again with the linear tactics discussion of the 18th century. The range on those muskets is practically nothing...about 40 yards. The EFFECTIVE range is even shorter, pretty much 25-50 feet. The reason you lined up your troops that was to maximize the firepower, since accuracy was so poor. Smooth bore muskets meant that the bullets (which were really balls of lead) wobbled and rarely hit anything until you were right up close in your enemy's face. The tactics made PERFECT sense right up to the point that somebody invented a better gun...which happened in the mid 19th century, more than 100 years after this fictional battle takes place.
So true. Hell, even the country the Normies live in has history reliant on such tactics: George Washington said "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!" (Or at least that's how the story goes)
@@eliezeririzarry247 Yeah, I"m an American myself, but military history is of interest to me, particularly the wars of the 18th century. There are a lot of myths out there about Washington of course, and he was hardly a tactical genius himself but I'm fairly sure he understood the limits of smooth bore weapons. Of course, both sides in the American civil war continued to use Napoleonic tactics, despite the existence of rifled muskets and cannons, which made range and accuracy FAR more deadly in this style of fighting.
@@Shadowman4710 As someone who's invested time in the subject have you any recommendations of books or sources to learn more? I'm interested myself, and it always helps to have a couple of recommendations to start with
@@eliezeririzarry247 I'd start with this guy's channel: ua-cam.com/channels/9NNB_Hd4zPR-QDfnNOChwg.html
He's even done an analysis of the battle in this episode but he wasn't particularly charitable towards it. He can be a bit pedantic at times but he really knows his stuff. As for books, I'll have to go through my collection and see if I can post a quick list for you. Some of it might not be in print anymore but I'll have a look.
@@eliezeririzarry247 SEE THE WHITE IN THEIR EYES CAROLEANS ARE MARCHING ON
Long John D. Silver
King of the Pirates
I Love how Flint looks at Hornigold, not with contempt or malice--as one would expect from another show or movie--but more like he's reflecting on Hornigold's entire life with an appreciation for all his complexities, inconsistencies, faults, virtues, past triumphs, past failures and the external factors that led them both to that very moment.
The hype is real. Somehow it only gets better almost each episode going forward
Glad the whole crew can appreciate this amazing series
the music is done by the genius bear mccreary who is responsible for agents of shield AND the walking dead's scores as well. i love that man.
also anne bonny was a real person. she's one of the most famous and well known female pirates and she actually did sail with jack rackham.
This is one of the best seasons AND Season finales in tv history. Jus think about it, season one the urca gets ship wrecked, seasons two Charlestown destroyed, season 3 fight against the British navy.. and LONG JON SILVER.. this show is incredible.. u guys should watch Wentworth, amazing show, every episode is over a 9 on IMDb
A na u ne u tseba hore Likepe e Ntšo (Black Sails) e entsoe lifilimi Cape Toropo, Afrika Boroa.
Ayy
It's true they are beautiful. 👌
Lots of people underestimate how important Billy was in this series.
"I'm not objectifying, I'm marveling" I hate Suraj 😂😂 also, how did I know he'd be the one to ship? jksdjdfgd
and by hate I hope you mean love ah ha
Of course, Suraj is probably my number 1 Normie
@@__Dana__ ah ha that guy is nuts
7:36 ayooooo 😭
That was hilarious
I love the explanation of him getting his name because he "has a long fucking memory"
Remember the "Crooks to boss" memed to hell ads going around some time ago...? I want you to see this man at 21:46 and compare him to the man in the first season. Even before the end look at this fucking man's growth even in appearance. Long John Silver!!!
"how did he get the wardrobe" both at the same time (nod to the head) "*murder*" HAHAHAHA
That was Great, thank you guys 👏
They didn't bury half the Urca gold, they buried Jack's half of the converted treasure which was a small portion of it(£42,000 I think)
7:35 Does Frenchie have Suraj speaking in tongues now?!
My favorite epsiode!
Nice one Normies
Would y'all consider taking a look at the anime black clover? I know y'all have a busy schedule already but it would be really nice if y'all would give black clover a chance. The black clover community would really appreciate it!
You guys should react to Spartacus in the series
Can't stand the show s it purposefully leaves out the greatest pirate in history - Bartholomew "Black Bart" Roberts
