Making a handmade leather JOURNAL

With the help of a PDF pattern, making a cover for a diary is very easy. This cover is suitable for a diary or notebook with dimensions of 135x207x15mm. For a thicker notebook, you can cut the middle part of the pattern lengthwise and glue it apart to the required distance. I used a 4mm diamond punch this time. You can use any leather punch with this pitch. Leather 1mm thick (goat). Waxed thread 0.35mm. The easiest way to create a patterned cover is to punch ALL holes, cut and sew. I chose the path a little more difficult, but better. I punched holes only in the place where the strap was attached to the cover. All the rest were just outlined. After gluing, several layers of leather were punched at once, which eliminated the need to combine holes when gluing in case there were holes already punched in advance. Which method you use is your choice.
