Who's to blame for the lack of Steelers playoff success?
Вставка

- Last week the Pittsburgh Steelers signed head coach Mike Tomlin to a new three-year extension. There was mixed reaction from the media, including those who were negative over the move stating Tomlin's lack of recent playoff victories.
However, is Mike Tomlin to blame for all of those losses?
Joe digs deeper than the surface to ask if Tomlin gets the blame, then why does he get the acclaim when things go right? And if others get their roses, why aren't they judged as harshly as this head coach when things go poorly?

The qb is even more important in the playoffs if you don’t have an elite one you don’t win in the playoffs
Great show man. Common sense !! STEELERNATION struggles with that.
LeVeon thought that he had had enough leverage to reset the market in the NFL. Imagine the conceit to think he’s going to force the owners to pay for a position that they really don’t want to pay a whole lot of money on.
Tomlin is to blame. He's the only constant.
This guy is a 100% Tomlin nut gobbler. Period. The only thing that’s remained the same since 2010 is Mike Tomlin. That’s the year we lost the Super Bowl. Look up Tomlin’s playoff record from 2011 on. It’s ATROCIOUS
I have to admit I'm a 2% during the season, and I'm not even a fan of your team (with all due respect to the greatest franchise)
the best explanation I can give is your Delivery is very inviting and pleasant, your Production is No frills 100% product, and your skills in recall and statistical parsing are incredible.
It's almost criminal how many years you've done this under the radar, How can content this good be buried under the vastness of gimmicky, rushed, desperate and often misleading entertainment.
Oh well it saddens me that your good work isn't well rewarded but at least I get to enjoy it
great video, thanks for uploading!
We haven't had a QB in years. You can't blame that on the Coach. That's the GM job to get us one
While forgetting Tomlin had prime Ben all these years as well...
@@maksports95 He did very well with prime Ben, but Ben was no GOAT. The NFL had the small problem of Tom Brady winning most of the championships during that time.
Fact's it on the gm
That’s on the coach too James. He doesn’t prioritize offense
The guy’s name starts with an M and ends with an N
Some of the fans are just delusional. For that matter, some of the podcasters are as well. You're spot on with the distribution of the blame but people just don't want to hear it. If I had to blame one thing, it would be lack of depth. Injuries happen, mistakes happen, but having quality depth is controllable.
Joe always nails it he's the truth 💯
Turnovers in like 4 of Tomlin playoff losses were the crippling factor that's nearly half his playoff losses.
Nah the big problem is coaching hires especially OC. IDK if he a big say in OC hiring he might not have any say or a huge say. Not only Co. but positions coaches also rem Juju said he learned more at KC in 3 weeks then 5 yrs at Pitt. I played college level so I got an understanding of offense but not what OCs have and I could see major problems with my mid understanding. Like how did Canada even get hired he’s not ready for OC.
Enough blame to go around. I like seeing the team win. I've been watching pro football long enough to see losing
teams and Winning in the Nfl is more difficult than it was in the 70's .
Every leadership position has been turned over from coaches to GM/AGM to scouts, etc.
Mike is the constant.
Now that Khan is in place the roster is finally showing signs of strength after years of bad drafts by Colbert.
And we shall see how this season plays out. Sometimes a healthy infusion of new blood is needed to get over a rough spot
@@mwahahaaaa Tomlin was a key person in those drafts...
@@RVRTYGRarts "rough spot"? LOL
@@DveMcGuire that may be so, but it's not his job. We all can see how much more optimism surrounds the team now that Khan is running the show. Night and day compared to the late Colbert era slump. Overachieving with weak rosters.
I listened to 34 minutes and some change and before I turn this garbage off I noticed one thing: This man didn’t say ANY of the losses was Tomlin’s fault. ZERO. All the attrition or lack thereof, all the bonehead challenges, all the stars getting into trouble (and people give credit to Tomlin for ‘holding these guys together’), and so on and so forth. I would love to debate you on this show about Tomlin’s legacy. You’re like CNN bro. Fake news
The entire point to be made is that it's not 100% on Tomlin. Obviously that went over your head. Tomlin can't prevent guys from throwing picks, getting knees blown out or smoking weed and getting suspended.
The problem is entitled steelers "fans" don't see how other teams (like the Cowboys) don't even sniff the same success over a long portion of time. I swear some of yinz must've been born in 2003 and don't know what it's like to not win everything like rookie mode on Madden. - Joe
@@Steelcityunderground sorry buddy. Born in 1980. Been going to games since 1987. I was there for Mark Malone, Bubby Brister, Mike Tomkzak, Neil O’Donnell, Kordell Stewart, Tommy Maddox… I saw good teams and bad teams. The difference is Cowher came into a loser and instantly brought in a winning culture. Even the years where the QB wasn’t the greatest… they played with Steeler pride and made the fans proud to root for them. Tomlin did the opposite. He walked into a winning culture and turned it into a pussy-fied loser culture, full of softies and me me me crybabies. This organization will not sniff another Super Bowl while he’s the coach. He’s Marv Lewis 2.0 IF Marv walked into a team equipped with hall of fame coordinators and players
@@MrWellz412 Preach brother, louder so those in the back can hear you.
Tebow hit on 3 big passes before the Thomas lightening strike
This will definitely blame ben and not dumblin alk you guys are clowns.
Just listen
Just think if Retardlin would have started Mason from game 1 last year??? Would we have had a 1rst RD bye instead of being on the road in the wildcard??? This, among w/ the countless other boners Tomlin has committed over the years are why we get anally reamed in the playoffs, in spite of ALL the talent Colbert/Rooney acquire annually. I'll say it again. NOBODY has EVER done less with more than Tomlin.
Nah not so much that. I think starting him I would say after Canada got fired would be more appropriate. But since Mediocre Mike had a hard on for Pickett, he waited till the end to make it a dramatic finish for us. Typical dumbass Tomlin
I have no dog in this fight but, I distinctly remember hearing crowds of steelers fans demanding front office to start Pickett, and now you are saying he is wrong in that decision? ooooooooookay
@@devinm9245 Uhh yeah... Obviously he was wrong??? Are fans the HC lol??? Mason was the leading rated QB in the league the last four games???
@@devinm9245 Because we knew Pickett was better than Trubisky and none of us had seen Mason play in years because Tomlin ignored him.
Who's to blame for the lack of playoff success? The guy in the thumbnail
Need a franchise QB it doesn't matter who the coach is
@@jameslee8519 who’s the one common denominator for all the embarrassing playoff L’s since the 2016 AFCG? The guy in the thumbnail 🤷🏻
@@maksports95 he's not on the field so he can't take all the blame it's a couple things that went wrong
@@jameslee8519 funny how QB is the first thing to come to mind as if Big Ben doesn’t exist. So typical of this fanbase to forget Tomlin had prime Ben for the majority of his career
@@maksports95 it's been awhile since ben was in his prime and still making the playoffs with the QBs he's working with.. there's no way you can get far in the playoffs with QBs he was working with..
