Yes we need this on TV back oh Hallmark, I’ll have to come there again and stay in the Bed and Breakfast, bring back memories of a remarkable family❤️🙏💚
Stayed at the BnB twice, most recently this week. It has become an annual Fall tradition for me and my husband. Wonderful accommodations and the best host, Carole.
I'm 45 and when I was a child the Walton's was a popular show with the parents and grandparents. I didn't pay much attention to the show back then but now I enjoy watching it.
That was incredible Tony! Loved watching the Waltons growing up and still enjoy seeing them today. Thank you Tony really enjoyed the trip to Waltons mountain. ❤
That was a wonderful walk down memory lane. Thanks for taking me along! I didn’t realize that the Waltons(Hamners) were the first Reality TV family, the Kardashians of their time if you will.
I live within 1 hour of this place and have enjoyed visiting many times in the past. Unfortunately you did not pronounce the town correctly in the beginning of this video. Nice video.
Judy Taylor a.k.a. Mary Ellen from the Waltons has an awesome UA-cam channel where she interacts with the fans about the Walton’s series. She tells behind the scenes stories that is amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan. She reply’s to almost every comment. She’s such a nice person.
You got that right.. First time I went there was 1992 and the Hamner Home was in serious disrepair, and may have been shut...I don't recall...but it wasn't open to the public. It is only recently that the store owner put up the small TV show replica sign on the business. I've often wondered what it would be like to run that store, but turn it a little more into the TV style 1930s store. At least put up the facade and an antique pump out front to pump kerosene.

There is not a whole lot. Just the two houses, his writing studio and the old school which is the Museum. Still worth the trip.

It was filmed in Hollywood. But the show was inspired but Earl Hamner's boyhood home. Like Mount Airy NC and Mayberry

I wrote him before his passing and he sent me an autographed picture.
That is so cool. It put a lot more into perspective when you are able to visit a place that inspired so many warm memories.
