Same goes for the entire film. Too much negativity over the casting. It's really a beautiful film to look at. Story ain't bad either, could've been worse knowing Hollywood.
YALS TECH The film was amazing true it's not as clear with it's deep and philosophical themes but it really made me think in too many moments to name. The conversation between the Major and her doctor (can't remember her name yet) was great that final line. "soon everyone will be like you" "You have no idea how alone that makes me feel." Great dialogue right there that raises the question of the individuality very subtly. I actually think the movie's version of the interrogation was better, Baetu saying at least he got to believe he had a family, as if his situation was good. So creepy to see someone dismiss memory so causally. There's so much depth to this movie beneath it's basic plot, I've only seen it once but I want to see it again, really beautiful film visually, emotionally and intellectually.
Mark my words. 10-20-30 years from now, this movie will be reverenced as a cult. The one that begun animated series to live action. Cudos tô everyone who didn't let people shape their decisions and saw it and appreciated all the work done.
well this kinda happened with Blade Runner, but at least that was an original, while I liked the movie, it pales in comparison with the 1995 film, I doubt it will get a cult following the way that did.
alx64gr blade runner was inspired by GITS. I don't doubt. This movie was the first well done anime-live action. It will serve as ground zero for the next ones.
Blade Runner was at least 10 years before the first GITS, so GITS was most likely inspired by it, not the other way around.. To be honest GITS was one of the easier anime to translate to live action, it's a very unique anime in its realistic approach to a sci-fi world, much like other sci-fi live action movies, so it was approachable for a live action adaptation. And still it was far from perfect. Most other anime are much harder to become good adaptations, but we'll see.
I can't seem to find the music that was playing mostly in the start and ending cityscape shots, it was kinda like this but more fast paced. Doesn't seem to be in the album?
Actually, this is the music from the album - "Music inspired by Ghost in The Shell", it's not the score by Clint Mansell and Lorne Balfe, which we heard in the film :)
This films soundtrack has been criminally underrated.

we can't have nice things in this day and age
The best film of 2017 !

alx64gr ..... do you think GITS started with the 1995 anime? I'm not gonna even start. Do some research. You are probably young, I understand.
it started with Masamune Shirow's manga in 1989, I've done plenty of research don't you worry. The question is if you know that 1982 came before 1989.
Awesome video. Love the visuals. Awesome Movie.
This is SICK !
