I've heard good things about Firmoo. I've actually been using a similar company but their quality has gone down so I might switch over to Firmoo. I love the design you chose!
You did a very nice review of your new glasses. I like how those glasses look on you a lot. They really suit you very well and from what I can see they look like a perfect fit. I'm a retired optician and you're right there is about a 50% chance that during pregnancy your eyesight is going to effected. When that does happen you become a bit more nearsighted. In fact many young soon to be moms with perfect vision will become nearsighted during pregnancy. And the ones already nearsighted will need an increase in their glasses. So it is very unusual ever to have your vision get better but really rare to happen during pregnancy for sure. My first guess was that maybe you're farsighted and that could cause your eyes to improve slightly, but your glasses appear to be to correct nearsightedness. Now that makes me think that you might have been over prescribed with your previous glasses. Being over prescribed wouldn't do any harm to your eyes no matter how much you wear your glasses. People think wearing glasses that are too strong will ruin their eyes but it really doesn't effect them and your eyes will even adjust to them but they won't change your eyes. The other possibility is when you went to get your eyes examined before getting your previous glasses you might have gone after work on a Friday and if you had a job where you were doing lots of close work or looking into a screen all day long that could have caused you to get a stronger prescription then if you went when your eyes were more relaxed. Your previous glasses look like they need a little work. They look pretty stretched out. But if you like your previous glasses you can still wear them because your eyes should quickly adjust to them still.
wow thanks for all that information! I did see a different optician this time but i wish she would have explained to me all that! the old glasses i showed i actually wasnt wearing anymore because they were causing me headaches (not due to the prescription, due to the fit on my face). I got another pair that had the right fit. thankfully!!
Eye doctors (optometrists) are like any other doctor these days, always in a bit of a hurry and don't seem to ex[plain things to their patients. Interesting that you did get your eyes examined by a different doctor this time. I don't think I have to tell you that no doctor will ever say that another doctor made a mistake or over prescribed you. Did you have any problem with your eyes adjusting to the weaker prescription? It probably helped that you already weren't wearing your previous glasses very much because they didn't fit your face very well. If you had been wearing them more often you may have noticed the difference more. Now that you're ordering your glasses on line I will tell you something to be aware of. I don't know if this has eve happened to you where the doctor says he / she is going to increase your prescription slightly to "sharpen things up" for you. Since they don't give you a copy of your prescription, unless you ask for one, that usually means they are only changing your glasses by -.25 which is practically nothing. They know that small increases isn't enough to hardly notice and they know that everyone's eyes actually like being over corrected. So you may or may not have had any change in your eyes but if they also sell glasses they know there is a very good chance tat you will buy new glasses from them as well. Now you know that by keeping copies of your prescriptions you can easily look to see how much change you have from one eye exam to the next. If it is only -.25 you don't need to change your glasses unless you're just wanting new ones.
Jim Boice good advice. I have a copy of my prescription, I left with it since I never get my glasses at my optometrist, it's too expensive compared to other places. There was a bit of adjusting to my new glasses since I do wear them for tv and computer use daily at my job. I did wear them less during my year mat leave tho.
I rewatched your video and I tried hard to determine what prescription your lenses are. I hardly noticed anything for SPH (nearsighted or farsighted) and your lenses are very thin as well so I think your glasses are mostly to correct astigmatisms which would be the CYL and axis numbers in your prescription. Astigmatisms do sometimes go up an down so that could be what improved in your prescription from before. Do you normally wear your glasses when driving? If you have both of your last prescriptions I would be very curious to see where the difference is if you don't mind posting it.
Thanks for your review. I plan on working with them soon too!
