I’ve been working on a quad bike someone chucked out and I did get it running but definitely has an intermittent electrical fault so now I’ve just bought and installed a complete new wiring harness from eBay but still not running. I got sucked down the rabbit hole like you. Parts for these things are cheap and you tell yourself all it needs is this, next thing you're $100 in and still going. Mine had pitted valves because they're not stainless steel losing compression. Seems none of these chinese were built to any standard. I just redid the handlebar kill switch and none of the wires were color coded to the old. I stripped it down to the basics and eliminated the alarm, key switch brake safeties etc.... way too much unnecessary junk. I'm sure in 6 months it will be worth $4 again. Nice investment.
I have a TaoTao 125 I just recently bought a new battery and new carb but bike still won't start turns over and cranks but won't start up I'm going to tighten those four screws that you said in front of the head and see if that works if not I'm not sure what else to do please help 6:28
Mine has the same problem but no squke. But it gas comes out of carb
Did it make s pop noise then wouldn't start again,?
Those chonda motors aka Chinese Honda although not very valuable are still fun to mess with.

I get mine to start for a bit. But the idle is very low. And shuts off.

Carb is slowly stopping up clean the jets to check try squirtting some gas or carb cleaner inthe carb and see if it starts and runs a little bit.had same problem with two i have they are150 adult size though.
What wss the compression

I cleaned the carb again. Pretty sure something was stuck in the needle valve seat. Blew air through the fuel lines and air filter. It runs like a champ now.

I got a 200cc sunl that kept dying until eventually it would compress when trying to start so we took it apart and checked it out and when we put it back together the starter sounds like its engageing but not compressing and it's really annoying can't figure it out...any advice?

Got the same bike runs good but cant get idle set seems to keep changing starts rite away and runs great as long as i got just the weight of my fingure on the throttle clean carb new gas new plug cleaner in gas any help would be awsome

Hey Denver, If it is a China quad, its value depends so much on its appearance, was it stored outside, how many cc, tire/frame/plastic condition, and having said all that, if it did not run, I would offer between $10 - $100... If it runs and moves, but, it is ugly, I would offer $50 to $100 for it as a beater.... Unfortunately, ugly/not running CHina quads do not bring much $, but, they are good to learn on.... One can unlock a lot of knowledge for a small fee with a China QUad!!!! Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!
@@HarveySpooner tks. I was thinking $50. Stored out side taken apart 75%, wiring issues and hasn't run in yrs. 110cc front drum brakes and hydraulic rear. So again thank you for your advice and knowledge.

I recently purchased the quad and ended up having to replace the starter on it and severely clean the bowl on the carburetor. I started and drove the quad a few days ago and now all it is doing is turning over very slow. I thought at first it was just a dead battery so i replaced it and it is doing the same thing. If i take the spark plug out it turns over just fine. i am stumped at this point and am not sure where to go from here. i really dont want to take it to a shop but it looks like thats what i am going to have to do at this point. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I have a quad that I’m trying to get started it’s been sitting for 3 years and it is making a cranking noise but it’s not actually cranking do u have any advice

I know this is old post but for anyone looking, the starter on these things actually drive a chain that drives the engine. They are prone to rusting and breaking so you probably hear starter motor running. Take off the left engine side cover. There's no oil under it, just the stator. Easy enough for visual inspection.

Hey i have a question so my son was riding his quad parked it and went to start it back uo and it wont start checked the battery it was good the solinoid clicks but wont start i even tried touching it with a screw driver it does not spark i replaced it anyway went out the next day and now its saying the battery is bad so i jumped it off my car battery so im getting power but it still just clicks when i hit the button dont even sound like it want to start do you know what it could be please and thank you

back again with a issue I picked up a Baha 125 atv and went through it I got a complete wire harness with it all,switch/stator/cdi/reg/coil/plug etc installed it all plug and play and I cant get spark to plug checked placement of pulse seems to be on the mark but no spark no reading at all from any wires from engine plug white/yellow/blue-white/black-red cant get coil to fire at all changed several things around IE coil-cdi etc still no luck it has comp/timing etc 229-854-2499 is my cell to anyone who can help 24/7
