.... I can think of five different animes off the top of my head that use 24 fps.... Dragon Ball Super.... One Piece..... Black Clover..... The Worlds Mightiest Student Kenichi..... Bleach. I think you need a different idea of anime.
Hey thanks for commenting. I guess I should have been more clear in the video as it seems a lot of people were confused by what I said. Anime may run at 24fps, or 30-60 depending on your tv.. but is actually animated at a variable frame rate. Which means a shot may only have 12 drawings or 6 drawings per second, and it varies depending on the complexity of the shot. So for an anime that runs at 24fps, but only has 12 actual drawings, they just play each of those drawings for two frames instead of one. It happens so quickly that you can get away with only drawing 12 pictures a second for something that plays at 24 frames per second by just having each drawing show up for 2 frames instead of one. Basically all hand drawn tv animation is made this way to save a major amount of time and money. So you can't take a 24fps animation, export it at 60fps, and have a 60 fps animation. All that does is duplicate each frame to 2.5 times instead of one and play it back at 60fps. The computer will not draw out extra frames for you in between the ones you make, its just going to duplicate existing frames. That being said, anime covers up their low drawings per second by having lots of camera moves and computer effects that do run at 24fps over top of only a few drawings. So next time you watch DBS, pay attention to what's actually moving on screen. It's either going to be the camera, something flying across the screen like a rock (that is one drawing, just being moved by computers), or some computerized effects. But the actual characters themselves, like goku, will be moving much choppier behind all the flashy stuff. You can even test it by pulling up a youtube video of anime and watching it frame by frame using the "," and "." keys on a paused video. Hope this helps! (Source: works in television)
Anim-Art Tips I know exactly what you mean. It's called double framing. And either way they still run it at 24 FPS. And anyways... they aren't always double framed.
You are an animator with lots of skill and very little subs it makes me sad in a way :( anyway love your vids you deserve 1 mil subs love ur vids . cheers from mexico :D
I am so grateful to find that youre still going an havent quit like many other pivot animator youtubers!, Thanks for being there in our pivot community Mate!
your videos are awesome and they help a lot. You should have more than 50 K subs. Nevermind, i improved a lot in pivot qith your channel. Thanks 8). cheers from Argentina :). Yeah that is because my english is too bad xD
you should make a youtube where people give you ideas or pay you for it and you make it for them for people who have really good ideas but bad at animating like me :D
Hey, can you make a video on how to make certain arm position in the correct angle and length, like the one on your other pivot tutorial: ""Hard Impacts" thumbnail, the arm looked shorter and I want to know how, thanks :^)
Anim-Art Tips hi, sorry to disrupt but I came from a 3D community and I’m completely new to the concept of pivot and 2D animation so easing is my current problem, back in 3D we had transitions but here u gotta make your own transitions I knw u first start at slow then fast then slow to make ease in and out right?
I use adobe animate and have gotten a lot better than I used to be and found out the higher ur frame rate the better since If you want to you can just lengthen the frame
I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing? ha. If you're using a lower frame rate you just have to remember to use easing a lot more. You can practice easing with super simple things, like a ball moving back and forth or a stick man waving. Maybe just try some tests without animating a whole scene
I use 20 - 21 fps on my animations, but I don't like how choppy they are. I have plenty of time to work on the animations, all I want for them is to be smooth. Even if I had to work for months for a few minutes I wouldn't mind, I just really want it to be smooth, so what FPS should I use? You can look at my current animations on my channel
The slower you go with a higher frame rate is what makes the animation look smooth asf. I've learned this lesson the hard way wasting lots of hours making animations flow way too quickly.
It runs at 24 fps but most of the time it's on 2's or 3's. Which means each frame plays 2-3 times a second instead of just 1. Easier to just say that its only 9-12 frames per second. :) You do have the occasional giant budget animated film that animates all 24 frames, but most of the time it boils down to money and time so they animate with a lot less frames
MAN I JUST NEED TO SPEED UP MY PIVOT ANIMTION. MAN YOU KNOW MORE THAN ME IN ANIMATION. I WISH WE CUOLD TEAM UP ON AN EPIC ANIMATION FOR OUR BOTH CHANELS. AND IF YOU WATCH MY ANIMATIONS I MADE IN MY CHANEL IT WAS WHEN I JUST STARTED IM WORKING ON A NEW ONE. I THINK IM GETING BETTER THANKS FOR THE FAST REPLY HOPE WE TEAM UP;)
No but unfortunately I have a full time job + side freelance so I have had an extremely hard time being able to make tutorials on the side.. I hope to get back to it soon

Glad to hear it!
i use 20 most of the time but im going to 33 frames per sec now
so this is why u made awesome animations.
you should make a youtube where people give you ideas or pay you for it and you make it for them for people who have really good ideas but bad at animating like me :D
Lover your explanation...and the music too! Where do you get your music? Does it affect your monetization if it's not yours?
24 cuz thats my type for sword and punching fights 20 for guns and 10 for anime fight
A Short one about dimensions pls! Height and lenght ^^
make it 1280x720 for 720p (HD) and 1920x1080 for 1080p (Full HD)
I love your videos
Akleo seep
Im guessing im in the using movies and anime frames? I like using 13.3 Frames Per Second so im guessing im between those
I always use 14-15
and I thought anime was a normal fps
Me too!
@@StevenWesleyGuiles what
Thanks. I used 33 fps first thinking it would look better. But I had no what the stickmen were even doing.
Must move the stick VERY slowly from the onion skin per frame.
when will the choreography video come out, or am I blind cause I can't see it
Sorry for the Delay! unfortunately I got super busy at work and haven't been able to finish it.. I'm hoping to finish soon though!
Hey, can you make a video on how to make certain arm position in the correct angle and length, like the one on your other pivot tutorial: ""Hard Impacts" thumbnail, the arm looked shorter and I want to know how, thanks :^)
I plan on making a video about perspective right after I finish the choreography video :)
Sweet! Can't wait. ;)

Oh...I know someone who animated at 30 FPS lol
I usually do 11 for series but sometimes for short stuff i do 14-15.
thanks for the tip.

thx for yur tutorials !!
Okay Okay i 'll Go Practice...Sheesh man
helped me out a bit! thx
I use the basic speed that you start with when you make a new animation it’s my level
PLEASE DO A 3D PIVOT TUTORIAL
From 12 to 15. I should try to practice on with Pivot.
I usually go with 16.1 frames
The thing I'm stuck on is that I can only animate on 30 fps, when I try to do 18-24 it's too choppy, it's really weird any help?

Anim-Art Tips Thanks I'll try that :)

spam easing, ik u prolly alr learned this cuz it's 5 years late but just spam easing for anyone else having the same problem
24 ftw
thanks for that but you should really add a comprehension between the suggested frames per second.
i use 16,9 fps is good for basic fight animations?
My framerate is 17-20.4
what's the song name?
I use 16,1 I think it's ideal
Why anime is only 8-12 fps??!! You should watch topkillgrean's animations
My animations usually look good at 16fps. Is that good or should I improve?

Wow i knew i was at 18-24 level just need to test it
Please do a video how to stretch limbs in pivot

ANIME IS ON 24 FRAMES
It runs at 24 fps but most of the time it's on 2's or 3's. Which means each frame plays 2-3 times a second instead of just 1. Anim-Art Tips oh, I understand.
Really didn't help, sorry.
