is it safe to carry the tripod on your shoulder with the scope still attached? is the foot strong enough the hold the weight of the scope without risking the scope falling off and damaging itself?

They don't seem to keep their value. I found a 2nd hand one for £50. Using it as a camera tripod. Not the smallest carbon tripod but its nice and stable. Very light too.
