That's really cool, hope it worked well for you. I used mine a lot after I made this video but then the toggle switch on the back broke. Everything still Powers up, just need a new Switch. Have fun with yours and congratulations on the wedding, God bless
Excellent video. Really appreciate the info. Nice to see an authentic personality and not the fake shtick so many youtubers try. Take care and thanks again.
Sorry for the ridiculously late reply, but like everything else in my life, I am way behind LOL I don't really know a whole lot about this other than it's operation. But I did some reading online and learned more history of the company. History is just something it's always been a passion of mine. Whether it's history in the books, Automotive, and just everyday items that people used in daily life. I find it all extremely interesting. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for commenting
Really!!! That's awesome.. I love going to those shops, but they can get dangerous for me🤣. Hit an antique shop last month and my friend got a beautiful singer sewing machine, the one with the pinstripe and flowers paint on them, $25.. Couldn't believe it.. The stuff isn't really worth a whole lot , but it's just really cool history and getting rare. Always love to see people embrace them rather than just throw them out like so many did over the decades. Thank you for letting me know. Awesome find, and enjoy 🙂
I buy a keystone a k68. I saw that thing and just looking at Details, it’s for me like a magic Maschine from good times. And every thing is original and also the case to. Home sweet home🎞🎥📽
Hey bro. But one at a garage sale at the end of the sale guy gave it to me for 10 bucks no cord found the cord online. I knew my father had a bunch of 8 mm film all the way back to 1946. Anyways what's up when you get this thing up and running plug the cord in thanks for a great up Publix brand new everything works. I am ship out a box full of old 8 mm film. Just UA-cam how to maintain and operate you popped up. I'm in love with this thing for. I was wondering if you did a low down on maintaining oiling etc. this thing is been sitting around for a while not sure how long I wanted to leave in 10 inquire about what I should do before putting any film through it. Anyways cheers bro great video I love your enthusiasm I'm a pretty well-known underwater and wildlife photographer. Film photography videography all that stuff just latest barking me. I see it doesn't UA-cam. You can't fake that shit. Anyways I appreciate your video and just wondering if you open that thing up. Cheers
I apologize that I missed this comment. I didn't do too much on it, I did very lightly oil some of the moving Parts but not enough that would get oil on the film itself. As for the lens I wiped it down with a dry display screen cloth. Worked all right for a while but one of the switches wore out. When I plug it in it just turns itself on automatically now and when you touch it you get a slight shock. I tried the switches and found one of them still felt perfect and the other one had no resistance, just kind of flopped around. Going to try to get a new one for it but it looks like a basic toggle switch so I'm sure I can find something that will fit if I can't find the proper one for it. Otherwise it still works and I enjoy watching some of my families old home movies a couple of times a year. I've also got a newer Super 8 projector that I can watch film from when I was a kid as well. Of course no sound, but some great memories of my childhood in the early 80's. Thank you for popping in and again sorry I missed this comment. Hope you got everything up and running good
I'm sorry I missed this. I like all of them from this era. They were so intricate, Little Machines. Back when everything was mechanical, no computer programs running anyting. Beautiful reminders of another time
Awesome!! There really are beautiful machines. The curves, the Chrome switches and levers. Compared to today's modern equipment, The Styling on these is almost artwork.
Awesome, I'm glad you were able to find one. These things really are living history every time you use it. If you haven't already, just dig around online. I'm sure there's still a company that manufactures them because I just bought a set of LED lights for the basement and it came on an old plastic 8 millimeter projector real LOL It wasn't old by any means, so I know somebody's still producing them for something, it's flimsy plastic and most likely from China or something like that. It just caught my eye for the simple fact that it was on an old projector real, haven't seen something like that in a while
I just got one, exact one. Works great. But Kno the reel hub won't run super 8 reels without adapter. Same day my VR HEADSET came in. I'm looking at both.
Awesome. I'm glad you were able to find a working unit. I was surprised to see how many of them are still out there, usually stuff like this gets thrown out over the years. I haven't used mine in a bit but the toggle switch on the back stopped working. As soon as you turn the power on it just starts playing and the light goes on. But you could feel the switch is no good, the insides got loose. It looks like a standard old style toggle switch though, I'll grab one to put in. And I do have a Bell and Howell Auto load Super 8 projector as well. That one still works perfectly. Got a couple of Christmases on film from when I was a kid and also getting on the bus my first day of school. I've got those, I've got the films from when my dad was a kid with my grandfather on the regular 8 mm and also a ton of slides from there vacations when he was a kid. I was thinking of sending them all out to Legacy box to have it all preserved. I know these films won't last forever so I don't want to lose them, but just the feel of watching it through a projector on the old screen is awesome. Just adds to the whole effect. Good luck with it my friend, I have mine set up on display in a small room in the basement with a bunch of my other old items
Glad you are able to get your father's old projector, it's nice to be able to save and preserve things like that. I don't know where to get a cord, but I'm sure they is something out there that could work. I will pin this comment just in case somebody knows.
So I found a cord and it works! Motor comes on but light does not. I also don't know how to oil it as it probably hasn't been used for 60 years or so. I remember my father showing us home movies on it. I also have a box of family films but want to make sure the projector is working well first. How do I oil it and who do you think could help with the lamp? Thanks so much!@@richdiscoveries
Just found the instructions - a copy of what you have online so I should be able to figure things out from that. BTW, you in Connecticut? We lived in New Haven and the Guilford. Love your photos and films.
I'm not exactly sure. The design was from the late forties I believe and I think they produced it for around 15-20 years. This one is probably from the 1950s when my grandparents started their family
Just found one at a thrift shop and my friend bought it for us for our wedding. I can’t wait to use it.
That's really cool, hope it worked well for you.

I found one of these in a thrift shop today, mint condition, no missing pieces for only twenty bucks

I think I gonna buy one in Ricardo and a 8mm movie I love those times
I love how everything was mechanical back then. No computer programs, no software, just Parts running off of other parts. It's beautiful

I love revere and dejur projectors in my opinion. But i only own a keystone but a dejur is still coming just holding up because of... stuff
I'm sorry I missed this.

@@richdiscoveries yeah. Most call them useless, bit most of some people’s lives are in them
I just purchased the same projector at an estate sale
Awesome!! There really are beautiful machines. The curves, the Chrome switches and levers.

Nice. I bought a pristine one and now I'm looking for a 6" reel. The 7" reel the family movie is on is too big, no clearance.

Same problem and the hub needs adapter too
Tenho um desses e gostaria de vende lo,gostaria de saber a respeito de valores

i have this projector which was my father's. Just found it but the cord is missing. Does anyone know where to purchase a replacement cord?
