Great video, thank you so much! I actually use a similar setup with a RC-1 pedal - various instruments on a 1-track looper. I've bought a RC-500 and now I'll be able to fully explore multi-instrument looping with 2 tracks
I feel very bad The RC500 is Missing an aux input, or call line left and right inputs for connecting a mixer or a drum machine , the two inputs built in rc500 is instrument inputs, bad sound for a mixer. I test sound the different inputs on a rc3 which has an aux input, it does make big difference, I would rather have an aux inputs than the midi in out on the RC 500.
Hello and thank You for such good quality videos about rc 500! May I wonder about disadvantages of next connection: mixer - rc 500 - PA Speakers I use it like this and like to control output signal from the rc 500 and not from the mixer Thank You!
Thank you - this is really helpful. I have a Yamaha MG10 though - wondering if this set up can be transferred to this mixer? It doesn't seem to have a Group Out output though!
thank you for the info thats really helpfull...i have set up several instrumemts which i can now loop...only thing is once a loop phrase has been recorded the volume is very low...any ideas why...
Thank you. I'm having an issue trying to link my RC500 to a Behringer Flow 8. The output is monitor speakers. Trying to understand the set up as a beginner.
Hello Ben. Great video. How should I connect my Boss GT1 guitar effects and use it at the same time with RC500 and mixing console like you did on the video? Kind regards:)
Hi Can anyone help? I did all of the connections but none of the instruments can be heard when i play them. They are not coming out to my PA or via the loop. Do i need to do something via the looper settings? Thanks.
Greetings Ben and congrats on your awesome and entertaining videos, I recently purchased the rc 500 as my very first looper ever for the purpose of using multiple keyboards and synths on my dawless setup. You are the only one so far on youtube that shows how to use a mixing console, however mine doesnt have the group out feature. I own a Behringer UB802 eurorack. so far i can route the main outs into the rc 500's input and from the rc 500 main outs to the monitors but i have no volume control of the looper on the mixer (only the monitors) I would like to hear everything out of my headphones from the mixer. any suggestions are welcome, and please excuse my confusion and ignorance, I am your typical impulse buyer when i see cool product videos such as yours. Best Regards and keep making gold content
@@jaymcdonald9864 never did, could never send it or return it, the way I would use it was by connecting the main outs of the mixer to the looper and the looper to my monitors. and use the headphone jacks from the monitors or amp.
You can Use Aux channels in exactly the same way .... ie: aux 1 send out > RC 500 input A ... aux 2 send out > RC 500 input B then just raise the Aux level ( 1 -2 ) on the channel strip for whatever instruments required ...
@@jaywebb8593 what if you are using a Yamaha MG10UFX model? There's only one "aux" which is the FX channel and here's my issue, I need that fx. Just bought recently the mixing console MG10UFX and the rc-500 it's on its way and can't back off the deal, meaning that in November I'll have the looper in my hands. And I'd really bought it with live performances in mind :(
does this allow you to use the mixer sliders to control the volume of the track while the looper is playing back? Also, can this be done while sending the rc500 to separate outputs? perhaps a guitar amp and a pa?
Hello I am struggling with the outputs. In short I want the bass to come out on the bass amp, the guitars on two guitar amps... etc... Any idea how to do that?
I believe you have to change the output for the track you are on. For example, I send the drum/rhythm section parts through output B and send that through a Little mixer to a PA. You do the same with the other tracks. Assign the output to the desired amp/pa. Hope this helps! He has a video on this also.
I have a Yamaha MG10XU - is there any way to accomplish something similar to what you have set up if the mixer doesn't have group outs? Or do I need a second mixer to connect instruments and output to the RC500 inputs, and then send out to the MG10XU which is connected to the studio monitors / PA?
Don't think so. I've been wresting with this problem for weeks! with my MG10 and haven't found any other solution to what Ben has explained extremely clearly (thanks Ben, much appreciated). I'm going to get an MG12XU (or possibly the Mackie alternative ProFX12v3).
Cool, great video. I have been trying to work this all out for the RC10r but not much joy so far. The issue i have is getting static electrical noise loops from out inputs and outputs into the same thing. At present I outputting to my audio interface but limits the mixing abilities...Does the Yamaha have isolated inputs and outputs to avoid such static chain loops? Thanks
So do you have the possibility to conect two mono instruments (one on L chanel and the other on the R) and listen the output in stereo (with the Rc-500 by itself ) ?? Thanks and congrats for your videos ¡¡ :)
Hi! Do you know if you can set the looper up to record track 1 and 2 simultaneously? So, track 1 recording input 1 and track 2 recording input 2 (outputting separately as well) So in theory using it as a “1 track” looper with 2 separate inputs/outputs.... working as one, but separate feeds.
The RC-500 doesn’t have a Instrument Input Level Option. Similar to the RC-30 that way. However, this setup kind of creates your own Input Level. By adjusting the signal being sent by the Group Out Fader in the Mixer. Hope this helps!
Can anyone help me how to figure out how to route things into and out of my RC 500? I have my mike running an xlr connection to the Boss, Then 1/4 out mono from the Boss to channel 1 of my Alesis MultiMix . The Alesis has phantom power which is on.The Multimix is plugged into my MacMini via USB. I am not getting any signal from my mike. Help anyone? Thank you in advance.

Oh YEAZZ! :D I just bought the rc-500 and happened to own that exact mixer already! That is absolutely what I'm going to do. Thank you so much

Another cool yet simple option would be using something like the boss line selector to plug two instruments into one input
I think a good old Mackie 1202 VLZPRO can also do this via ALT3-4 output at the back of the unit!!...

Does the Boss 500 (British $245) differ from the Domestic $425?
