I have seen this video twice now. Very detailed and fast too. Getting a lot of ideas and knowledge. Thanks to Bob Martin. He explained details on how things works. I’ve never seen how torpedo is rigged and I have seen it here too. This boat is very detailed and turns well it seems too.
By far the most niche thing I’ve ever seen on YT! I understand the passion, I’ve been obsessed with model aeronautics since before I can remember but I never get into a situation where my models gets out of sight for even a millisecond, for you sub guys the highlight is submerging and I guess just using your imagination until it re-emerges?
My grandmother's brother Erich Weudermann was commander of the U-506, I've always been fascinated with subs but chose aviation during my Navy days 😆. I'm an RC sailboat guy and I appreciate the work you guys do! Cheers, E
@@freddymarcel-marcum6831 The Internet says the B-24 located U-506 on the 10cm radar and engaged with 7 depth charges, and the boat broke in two and afterwards the Liberator crew saw ~15 men in the water, to which they dropped a raft and signal flare. Apparently 6 were rescued by a British destroyer 3 days later. Is this correct?
As a once crew member of the USS Archerfish (AGSS 311), a WWII fleet boat that won a Presidential Unit Citation for sinking the Shimano Japanese carrier, I can really appreciate this model and, especially, the simulated rust you encrusted your U-boat model with. I was a trained Electronic Technician, assigned to helm and shears watch and deck gang. The electronics was original equipment and should have been in a museum so I was not a good match for the equipment. Have you researched long, floating wire antennas for the radio control (I can guess you don't wan to dive you models too deep for fear of losing them)?
Oh dear god. That is superb. Always fancied doing a r/c model of U57 Gunter Priens sub that got into Scarpa Flow. Seeing this as the standard, I will just keep my ambition as fantasy! Brilliant job.
NICE! I have an Vintage 80s Atkins R/C German Sub I never finished. I forget what type it is, I think it might be an IXC?? Just dug it out of storage and going to work on it after seeing this vid. Of course things have changed It's made of fiberglass, wood with cast metal accessories. Pretty heavy model close to 6' long.
Ya' gotta' respect the time and persistence of someone who built this. Also, the research and build skills demonstrate excellent craftsmanship. I've always been in to flying scale models but this is really something! Well done and nice review. PS: Why aren't you wearing a Submariner? :)
Hey great built absolut fantastic. Is it possible to give me some information ore maybe a Link how you built the Torpedos and the complete lounch system?
Amazing model. If I may recommend you use a pair of forceps for connecting those narrow bits. much easier and safer (might break something in the process)
Pardon me for my ignorance, but limited understanding is that radio waves cannot travel through water, unless if it's VLD/ULF So how do you control the sub? By the way, the model looks great and very realistic!!!
For equiping the submarine type VII, I bought the kit W7602GPV WTC, I miss the battery DZ1 with accessories, do you know where I can buy them because arkmodel don't answer me. Thanks
A question. I seem to recall that some of the subs used during WWII trailed a long radio antenna/wire for communcations. Is it not possible to do the same for a 'wireless' real time camera? Absolutely great model!
5 minutes work is too much to prep the boat? ;) The video makes it look like a long process, but it only takes a few minutes to go from disassembly to fully ready to go.
I'd love to help, but I'm booked solid until the end of the year and I'm not taking on new commissions. If you're curious, a standard build would start at $4k turnkey.
Your linkages connection in the back are magnetized!!! cool. I was hoping you would put it in your pool. i wannuh see the props & rudders. Were you in the US Navy?
It's just anti-fouling paint , all ships have it. It comes in different colours . Some subs had it in black or gray . It's there to stop weed and barnacle growth , which slows the ship down.

I thought I was a RC wizard with my RC trucks. Turns out I'm not. Amazing engineering and beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.

did he survive the sinking in 1943?
@@klemens.7561 no, nobody did, the boat itself is off of the Bay of Biscay.

Beautiful model, theType VII was my favorite boat, congratulations on a wonderful job !

I’m glad I found you. Looking forward to watching more videos.
The paint job to replicate Sea water rust on her hull is awesome.
Looks great as a model, but to see it in motion is awesome.
true!
Considering the location, I'd be worried your Type 7 would get et by an alligator. Nice job.
He needs genuine explosive torpedoes for the 'gators' :-)
That was my IMMEDIATE thought when I saw the palm trees !!
Un submarino espectacular e impresionante.
Wow, it's a masterpiece! It takes tonns of work to make one!
Thanks for sharing ! That is one cool model... I wish I had one !
fantastic work !!! greetings from germany
Very cool. Interesting and informative. Thanks
I really like this I’m glad I found your channel I used to have a dumas akula class dynamic submarine I wish I still had it
Awesome model and very interesting.
Craftsmanship beyond belief!!!
Beautiful boat!
Boat looks awesome!
Neat as heck! Great video
Fantastic model
덕중에 덕은 양덕이라는 옛속담을 다시 한번 느끼고 갑니다.그와중에 봉알을 탁!
Great video can't wait for the underwater video
ça, c'est du maquettisme !
that is model making !
Il ne maque que la caméra sous-marine.
All that's missing is the underwater camera.
You should have played "Wolfpack" by Sabaton. Or at least some of the music from "Das Boot." lol. Great model, thanx for the look see.
what a beautiful project!!!
Awesome model...wanna see the cam video !
Wow, you can go on alligator search and destroy missions with that sub!
Really cool model👍🏾
Pretty fuckn cool. Wish I had the patience
sooooo great Job👍👍👍

Nice job Bob!!!
Excellent video!
Enjoyed this thx
Nice job.
EXCELLENT, BOB MARTIN, EXCELLENT!
This is awesome!
Love that model!
Nice Job Man...It`s quite something......I`m inspired
How does your sub receive radio signal underwater? What is your depth limit?
The Cartel would probably buy this from you.
Bob Martin! What are those little quick connect things called for the snorkel! I have air lines that would really benefit from that!
Nice
Robart quick connect air fittings.
Could be Festo Pneumatics quick connections
GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT....AGAIN RC SUB GUY..I'M ROCKMAN...YOU DEFINITELY ROCKMAN😎.
No gator attacks? Cool, never saw a RC sub, very cool.
this is awesome!
Great music theme... a Klaus Doldinger tribute...
Amazing model. If I may recommend you use a pair of forceps for connecting those narrow bits. much easier and safer (might break something in the process)
Stunning! HOOAH!
you gott a new subscriber and keep making subs like that i mean like that sumbarine its a cool one
Awesome sub.
What a beauty
Pardon me for my ignorance, but limited understanding is that radio waves cannot travel through water, unless if it's VLD/ULF So how do you control the sub? By the way, the model looks great and very realistic!!!
Low frequency radio waves do penetrate water to a fairly useful degree. We operate on 75mhz here in North America.
Amazing Model!!
Would it not be more efficient to use low frequency radio when operating underwater for distance?
You mean ULF? Better distance. Waaaaaay lower data transfer rates. Not suitable for RC control.
For equiping the submarine type VII, I bought the kit W7602GPV WTC, I miss the battery DZ1 with accessories, do you know where I can buy them because arkmodel don't answer me. Thanks
What a great way to hunt salmon.
My Friend sends message: Ya Bob nice, please need those watertight cylinder for my Alpha sub.
That stupid PedoWood Movie Greyhound demands that Bob plays whale songs every time the U-Boat model is filmed...
nice machine
At the end you show us the underwater camera that you added but you didn’t show any video from it. What’s up with that?
Cool stuff!🤓👍
Does it dive and you should also get like an Allied Liberty ship model for it to attack
I would love to have a painted AGED STATIC version of this for home display
Awesome!
Can you make the water at 1/48 scale next?
A question. I seem to recall that some of the subs used during WWII trailed a long radio antenna/wire for communcations. Is it not possible to do the same for a 'wireless' real time camera? Absolutely great model!
sadly, if i had this model at age 12, i would have depth charged it
Grab the air rifle brother.. we have subs to sink. - Kids
do anybody put a cam and or light on it like a drone? it would be neat to see whats around under water
Underwater GoPro,
$399.99
Underwater content,
PRICELESS
Great U-boat model. Nice detail, but for me too many parts to assemble for each run
5 minutes work is too much to prep the boat? ;) The video makes it look like a long process, but it only takes a few minutes to go from disassembly to fully ready to go.
Very nice..
Now all you need is a Liberty cargo ship.
Where's the footage of the onboard camera
MASTERPIECE😎ROCKMAN!
Unbelievable.
Amazing video and amazing model .. how can I get a quote ?

Were you in the US Navy?
My father has a Radio control Sub similar to what I see in your video. Is there a market for them?
You should do a demo in your pool! Better visibility for the youtube viewer
I thought you were going to tell us the camera lens was mounted in the muzzle of the deck gun...
Lol, so did i, i was thinking it was going to be connected through a fish eye lens some how
How many meters can you dive in the sea?
Didn't know you could transmit underwater. But don't know anything bout rc subs. Would have liked to have seen some pictures from the camera.
They didn't have red hulls though, other than perhaps on training boats.
It's just anti-fouling paint , all ships have it. It comes in different colours . Some subs had it in black or gray . It's there to stop weed and barnacle growth , which slows the ship down.
@@welshpete12 I know what it is. It's the wrong colour is all.
@@welshpete12 Beautiful paint job none-the-less.
It would have been awesome if you had a small camera on that so we can see it go under the water I think they have one that will do that
Sir ! Are you prepare to cross Pacific Ocean or Atlantic Ocean ? Need a satellite direction system ?
Muito bom , professor .
Aqui tem um certo mercado , pra esses modelos .
Can use for spying ,drugs ,drone ,take off on one of small submarine eases droping many possibility
Set bombs torpedo for military destroy anything under water
@@ceciligarcia2145 OK
it's one of my wolf pack 🤣😂
U-boat submarine 💪😎👍
