I am a psychologist educated from a prestigeous Danish university. Furthermore I'm educated in both verbal and non-verbal communication and I would venture the claim that President Biden is NOT suffering from some form of decline in his mental capacity - other than what old age naturally brings!
What I immediately noticed on President Biden's face when Trump first spoke was shock and disbelief! Has anyone even thought of the possibility that the president simply was shell shocked?? Joe Biden came top prepared to engage in a DEBATE on current topics. But instead of a debate he was subjected to a raging personal ATTACK consisting of one lie after another after another after another from the moment Trump opened his mouth!! WHO wouldn't be in a state of shock after that?? I certainly was!
My sister stutters after a complicated cerebral hemorrhage years ago, and she has learnt to use a 'starter' word when her stutter shuts her speech down and then start anew from another angle of the topic. I think Joe Biden's 'starter' word is "anyway". He uses this word frequently and then sort of changes the subject - or finds other words to use to say the same instead of the one that stopped his speech.
Democrats and mainstream media are too damn fast to judge the president and deem him out! He does not deserve this kind of disrespect! President Biden is held in VERY high esteem all over Europe as well as in the far East. Please start to treat your fantastic president with the dignity and respect he so deserves!
These were my to cents' opinion

He turned up not knowing what Trump is like? He would have been the only person on the planet who didn't know how Trump debates. After a week+ of prep-time, that's very concerning, don't you think? It indicates that he's surrounded by yes-people, unable or unwilling to give him the truth. If he cannot handle Trump's BS-laden bluster, we need to be honest about that reality. What's more important, democracy, or Biden's feelings?

This isn't about "feel-feels". This is about an evil, lying, adjudicated RAPIST and FRAUDSTER. As well as a 34X CONVICTED FELON who wants desperately to become president to escape his forthcoming prison sentence and his quest to turn this great country into 1930s Germany.
      Versus:

Biden made two mistakes: 1) When he came to the podium, he should have said, "I have a cold. Please excuse me if my voice is soft and hoarse. I need to rest my throat." 2) He should never have engaged Trump in his stupid golf boasting, except maybe to say, "The whole world knows you cheat. There's a movie about it." Biden is finally coming out and saying, "He fills his score-card before he even takes a stroke," but _that's_ too little, too late. I never doubted our Joe! 😊 👍 💙

I have a speech impediment, too: I have a really hard time with an "r" in the middle of a word. I say "difficult" for "hard," "McDonald's" for "hamburger," blue jay for bird, conflict for war, yep for sure, and so on. I have two Master's degrees, so I'm not incompetent - my brain makes an ultrafast scan through my enormous (nope, can't - huge, educated, sizeable, vast, impressive) vocabulary and selects a word that I won't trip over. Thanks so much for pointing out that Trump has only _insanity_ for an excuse.

As a psychiatrist of similar age to Harry I’m still trying to understand why the most profound thing Biden did in his 2020 campaign was when he said to Trump during the debate, “Will you shut up, man?” It was emotionally honest, it came from a position of an adult addressing an obnoxious teenager, and it was concise and frankly stunning. To Trump as well as to the nation. And it was SO satisfying, as he spoke for millions.

Tom Dewey in 1948, Richard Nixon in 1960, Mike Dukakis in 1988, Al Gore in 2000, hillary Clinton in 2016 . They all lost in November . Also, as Dr. Kagan has pointed out, this slight stumble in what was not a real debate allowed President Biden to get up, dust himself off, and pivot to campaign mode . A necessary thing .

Think of a computer. You can add a ton of information to it but when you try to process it too quickly, it slows down and can overload. Stutterers are processing so much information at one time and thinking faster than he can speak. At times their minds have moved on to the next thought before the first is out. This is how I see Biden. At the start of the debate, he tried so hard to rattle too much off to quickly. It would have been better for him to prioritize just a couple and slow things down!

  • @sohum9501
    @sohum9501 23 дні тому +11

I would add that the strict time limits of the debate forced Joe to try to get as much information in as fast as possible. Talking faster made the stuttering a greater challenge.
Trump was lying and kept shouting even when his mic was turned off. Biden said that it was difficult to gather his thoughts & focus. I also felt like Joe looked at the moderators w/disbelief & imploring them to do something.
I am disappointed w/the press & media because they seem to keep asking Biden the same question.
Seems to me that Biden was not feeling well the night of the debate. Then when all the negative press came out & continued for a week, I think he felt hurt & embarrassed. He’s worked so hard & done so much & rather than being grateful, people are asking him if he should step down.
When they keep asking the same question, Biden becomes defensive, which is a normal response.
He answers all the questions. Does everything that is asked of him and yet people keep talking about him in a past tense. Like “He was a great President” & now it’s time to turn him out to pasture.
This is actually early for the full scale campaign to begin.
After Labor Day is traditional time. After both parties have had their conventions.
The pressure of this election season is more intense than ever w/each party presenting completely different paths for our country.

I dont think, they even considered for a second, that CNN would refuse to do any factchecking, thats an integral part of the job of moderator. Hence why the Biden campaign protested loudly, when CNN announced a few days b4 the debate, that there would be zero factchecking. Well, CNN certainly delivered on that and then some.

The whole thing about how Biden doesn’t have meetings after 8 PM doesn’t seem all the shocking when you learn that Obama went up to the residence every day at 6 and George W at 5. Also, don’t forget the hours of ‘executive time’ on Trump’s daily schedule until noon or later when he was in the residence watching cable news on multiple screens. When the media describes some issue about Biden’s schedule, meetings, or habits, try to find info on what previous presidents did.
