South Indian movies have always been great, its just that Baahubali started the theatrical wave and dubbing made them more accessible. Even before there were so many remakes in bwood of South films, then there was no Internet, so Bwood got away with it but now they media exposed Bwood's mediocrity. Telugu and Tamil remake films gave bwood stars their most important commercial breaks like Ghaijini, Wanted, Rowdy rathore etc. Telugu industry for example is experimenting on mainstream level with movies like baahubali, RRR, KALKI 2898 etc while also making small films like Hanu-Man, sita ramam, Hi Naana etc. So there is a balance and content for everyone. Also stardom in South is huge compared to any other place, the stars play an integral role in big budget films recovery.

Acc to Forbes, Vijay get paid the most, it doesn’t make any sense. Prabhas getting paid big bucks is understandable because of his huge market, also new type of films but he is taking more reasonable remuneration while Vijay who is making generic films taking a huge chunk of budget with a limited B.O market is surprising.
@@revanth84 Yeah I get ur POV. Let's take prabhas whose consecutive 3-4 movies post Bahubali were critically bad to average till Adipurush. Let's take Radhe shayam which is a love story that can work anywhere(Love is universal). They did great promotion all India, spent most money on sets and his remuneration, the movie was an utter let down to the audience and Few crores theatrical loss. Now let's take vijay's Beast which too is a disappointing movie. They didn't do much promotion anywhere other than Tamil Nadu. Vijay's pay was 50% of the budget. Critics thrashed the movie, but still it went into the profit zone n collected around 300crores(if I am not wrong about the amount). Mahesh Babu, Salman Khan, Vijay all these people more or less fall in the list of stars whose movie manages to become profit without positive reviews. Like guntur karam for MB and KKBKKJ for Sallu bhai. Producers are ready to pay them huge % of the budget as they see them as minimum guarantee Heros due to family n child audience. Hope I made sense.
@@ananddeena7642 I think Prabhas is so big at this point that his worst performing film is a standard that many others try to meet. Radhe shyam is a love story with a 1 film old director. It was released in limited screens because in March many markets still didn’t open theatres completely, it even missed out on huge Dallas release because of covid restrictions. An out and out love story post pandemic was something that was ready to be doomed especially when the cost of production was so high. Love is universal is just a dud, especially post pandemic, no one were ready for a Rom-drama. And RRR coming in 10 days gap after was another blow for a RS. Ceded circuit was already dead for RS before release because of the genre. Radhe Shyam opened to 80crs, that genre opening to those numbers post pandemic is only because of Prabhas. Every film post BB of Prabhas was thrashed by critics, Beast never got that negativity, also because of the market? VJ literally has an open ground in Tamil nadu, Telugu market has 6 tier 1 heroes with solid domestic market while TN has 2 tier 1 stars and Ajith is not that active. Beast is an out and out action film, Tamil films have market in Telugu and KA unlike other languages movies in TN because of huge State tax for dubbed films back in the day. Beast made approx 230crs at the B.0. MB, Salman, VJ, all play safe now. At least MB was a grt experimenter until Nenokkadine, Salman has movies like Bajarangi and sultan but Vijay always played safe with safe scripts and directors even when he has open market that will even eat up a flop. All these actors have safe markets because they never went out of the safe zone especially Vijay. Does Vijay have highest Tamil grosser WW? Does he have highest Tamil domestic grosser? No. Vijay is getting paid 270crs for his next and can’t even recover 3 times of that. Did GOAT even cross 200crs share? Its money laundering at this point, just like how Lyca productions does for political future.

No it’s not. The best is Malayalam cinema with its original content and grounded acting. More and more people are watching Malayalam movies. With the budget they have they make wonderful movies which we don’t get in other industries.
