I tried it also, same issue - broke that tiny piece of the Addi where the screw goes. I also fixed it with glue and ordered a new handle just in case it didn't work. I liked the idea, but returned it and use an electric screwdriver- that works fine but my arm gets tired. Maybe will try it again some day, but my machine was new when I tried it.
I got two of these motor drives for my ADDI machines and I mounted them in a breeze and they worked with no problems. I am regulation the tension with the tension masts for my Brother knitting machine and the different projects are coming flawless with even tension and very fast. I love these motor drives!!!
I have two of these and they work great. Never any problems with the small addi machine. On the addi king size it wobbles when it runs. I made the mistake of tightening the attachment screw to the machine and I did this on both my machines. It snaps off the little tip of the piece you screw it into. I tried e6000 and also super glue but it is not strong enough and it breaks again. I'm waiting for replacement handles to come in the mail. Gonna try again but will need to figure a way to support the bottom of the machine so it doesn't wobble so much.

sounds like the instructions were confusing. i am new to the addi, but the motor is something i am considering, due to dexterity issues.

I listen to music on my headphones while I knit with it, it helps me concentrate and it hides the noise of the adapter also....
