@KsAnNa, according to rumors and something Bradley said in the Gates of Avalon commentary, Colin has a condition where he's allergic to a lot of different foods and can't eat everything normal people can. He gets specially-prepared meals on set. You have to remember that they work very long hours and late at night sometimes and don't always get enough sleep which might also be why he loses weight, because of stress.
As an amatur actor i've found that jumping up and down helps keep your blood rushing, so you don't go into a slump and can also help get you in character.

Just found this. Thank you. Great to see high-budget production actors (well BBC) working their art and craft. Helps me with any Indie Film work I get invited to do & seeing the importance of warming up with the energy of a character before "Action" is given. Always great to admire how each camera moment makes each scene worthy of the final cut. Thanks 🙂
What a great video--really whets my appetite for the third season, which we have painfully little spoilers on thus far. (I'm in the USA). The scenes with Arthur bullying Merlin again are quite disturbing expecially since I thought he'd become a bit better about that in light of recent events, but I agree with those posters who are saying something different must be going on in the scenes to have him act that way...poor Merlin. Wonderful actors the guys are. Thanks for posting this vid.
@polaris19945, yeah my guess is that since there will be fighting Arthur is teaching Merlin to defend himself and getting frustrated because Merlin is having trouble picking it up. Arthur wants Merlin to be able to take care of himself so he doesn't have to worry about Merlin getting killed every time they go somewhere.
Woah intense! I wonder what's the matter... I bet the 1st two parts are gonna be another more of those "awww poor Merlin" moments that Bradley loves so much hahaha.
@luvergirlscarer101 Yeah...Merlin seems more depressed and meek than pissed off in this--he keeps calling Arthur "sire" rather than his name or prat. They're definitely not bantering here and Merlin really seems a victim of a very impatient prince who doesn't realize the effect he's having on him. What a tantalizing piece of footage! I so hope we get to see it in context and it isn't edited out in the new season.
@gatepromise Don't worry, at least the scene with the hammer was included in the long "whole series" trailer at the BFI screening. ;o) My bet is these scenes will be in 3x09. No guarantee though... *lol*
@gatepromise No, sorry, I don't think it's on YT or anywhere else. I haven't seen the trailer since, and I'm pretty sure I would have if it had surfaced somewhere... ;o)

@KsAnNa I agree with you but other people tend to get mad when I say that. Plus the fact that they give him that hair cut that I don't like and I hope he grows it out. That hair cut makes his face even thinner looking. Someone needs to tell him its ok to eat more proteins. I love him to death and he took my breath away in the first season but someone should look into this losing weight thing because it could be a real issue. My friend was sick and dropped a ton of weight.
Did you see the way arthur took apart that dummy, something is definatly wrong. You wouldn't think he would have the energy either after all that merlin harassing (Poor merlin) but that dummy didn't stand a chance
How tiring for the actors, with this kind of "fregona" in face of them. And all people around. I wonder how they can concentrate. And can you imagine in a emotional scene...when they need to show strong feelings, and they have to play with many people around...I would´t be able. Well, if they earn a lot of money...they can concentrate better, I suppose, but, quand même...
