Thanks for being so honest explaining you were an active sports person and your hip was only at the “clicking” stage and that you used a private clinic. This puts your recovery in perspective when compared with the majority of us ie waiting years for an NHS procedure, having such advanced lack of mobility and pain having to use walking aids before surgery and muscle atrophy etc. Our rehab journey takes much longer not helped by a lack of post operation NHS support such as access to physios etc. Like many of us I get fed up with private clinic sponsored UA-cam content showing unrealistic footage for most of us which can be depressing. However I give you great credit for setting out the context of your situation. I am 67yrs old and waited for 4 yrs on an NHS waiting list by which time I was virtually housebound and using walking aids with zero pre op fitness levels. I had an anterior full hip replacement. My operation was a great success. I am following the exercise handbook I was provided with and doing 10 reps of each exercise 3 times a day at home. 4 weeks in I am off all pain meds and down to one crutch. It will take months to build up my muscle tone to be fully load bearing on my operated side and be able to ditch my crutch. I can then have my other hip replacement operation. Everyone needs the time their body needs to recover and should not get depressed about these kind of vlogs! Good luck to all in your recovery.

You are great . But not relevant for others. Everybody is different: different age, different comorbidities, different lifestyle, etc etc. Good to see you are recovering very fast. I had hip replacement 14 days ago and even if I am walking from the first day I still have pain and not enough mobility. Wish you perfect and total recovery .

I wouldn't think it the norm,15 yrs ago first hip a week in hospital at age 70 [pretty fit] now waiting for the other in much pain even when doped up on painkillers. Is age the key?.

Truly unbelievable! Makes my day five with no crutches look a bit pathetic 😅
