At my goodwill the receipt IS the coupon. I didn’t know about it either and I was joking with the cashier that I had just dropped off stuff that I didn’t need in the back and now I’m buying stuff I don’t need in the front. She said , Oh if you show your receipt from your donation you get a discount on this purchase🤯😃I don’t think it was 25% but I do remember I saved a little over $8 that day. You should ask in the store about it, not sure if all do this. I do know that SAVERS always gives you a coupon when you make a donation. I always take something to donate when I’m going to shop at Savers . Every Savers store does this.
@PeachandOliveVintage yes. Setting for 8 +serving pieces. The auctioneer couldn't get a bid and talked me into a bid of $5.00. I loved the set but already had so many dishes I wasn't going to bid on them. No one else bid, so I got them. They make a beautiful tablesetting.

I'm bummed, but I don't think they do that here. At the Goodwill in Elkhorn, that opened in October, they don't even do a color of the week, senior discount, etc...as far as I know. I've never seen other people getting any discounts at the Goodwills I go to. They used to give a teacher discount, but they don't do that any more either. I wish they would.
Only some Goodwill stores give you a coupon. Where I grew up has always been strict about coupon policies. That is a weird sentence lol. Anyway, I use to watch these videos where people would end up getting a bunch of stuff for free. I mean, it’s like hand soap and junk food, but still! Man, if you thrift within 100 miles of Seattle, you are in for a shock. Our thrift stores are amazing and unique, but you pay up for everything. I just payed 50 bucks for a bowl at a Goodwill! Now, that bowl retails online for 75 plus shipping, but dang! So high. I always go in with the attitude of well, would I pay this at an antique store? I don’t get stuck on the fact that it’s a thrift store. I can’t, not around my area, or I would have to leave all the treasures behind. I have an incredible collection of wonderful thrifted things. Sometimes I get lucky and find something way under priced. Not often, but it happens.
Our Goodwill employees would not have acknowledged you much less tell you have a good day or thank you! My friend owns a vintage to high end clothes consignment shop named Katz’s Closet ~ she would have absolutely loved the kitty!
@PeachandOliveVintage yes she does! Beyond her shop, stray momma cats and kittens find her constantly to where you get a discount if you bring in a bag of litter or food. Those donations are taken to the veterinarian office that helps them with spade/neutering.
