Started fishing about a month ago as a way to get closer to my father. I’m still very new and it can be embarrassing as a grown man unable to do some of the simplest things. You gents have made it more fun for me to learn on my down time! Thanks chaps!!
Enjoying the videos so much. Will be sending through my own clips shortly! Excited because it reminds me of the SuperSport ESA days, just so much better in terms of a personal feel and connection with the fans of fishing in South Africa in particular. Keep it up guys.
Wow luv yourlls videos I luv my fishing too. I am a female by da way. I am following all your video. Well done make more videos so inspiring guys take care.
Thank you K , it is a very productive spot and everytime we go we get Blacktail and other reef species , release most and every now and then keep a couple for the braai
@@juandregeldenhuys284 it was here in Durban. Hard to get decent sizes here . The teeth was rotten and the spot was faded. I caught it on a dark night no moon view. I didn't know it was a blacktail i was thinking its a small stumpy. I only saw when i got home or else i with out released the old balee
Yeah when they get to that size their teeth are very long and yellow, i can imagen cause there getting a 35cm one is big , must have evaded lines for very long , and theres always a next time, love seeing a fish kick off
@@nikobellic8284 In Durban very few people understand what conservation is. I understand that people are starving and fishermen need to make money to support their families but some of the guys are ridiculous. Sweet catch btw.
thanks Roeds, you can use normal fluoro carbon shock leader or proper hard fluoro carbon , on the spoon it generally doesnt bit you off but if there are bigger ones arounf that can swallow the whole spoon you can use hard fluoro carbon , a 40lb leader should be more than enough
Ag nee man ! You guys can’t cook. Too bland for my taste. Smeer die vis met Garam masala ! I would have that excellent fish with smooth buttery mash potato.
thanks for the comment , everyone has their own preferences , i was at my Grandfathers house and he likes it plain and simple as to taste the fresh fish from the ocean, but in some of the future videos i do some better cooking, keep tuned in👌
@@juandregeldenhuys284 Please help me to understand where to cast. In the video you says that whitewater looks promising. But in other videos I watch online, they say that I should look for dark water troughs and holes because the whitewater is a shallow bank. Reading the beach is confusing for beginners.
Hi there Farzana , when Fishing off a beach or even a beach with scattered rocks you will find sandbanks(where the waves stand up and break and cause white water) and more quiet (deeper water and holes) depending on what you want to target both these places sand banks or deeper water holes are good to fish , Sand banks youll generally get flatfish such as Sandsharks and rays as well as Galjoen , steenbras , stumpnose and more , in the deeper water in front or at the back of the sandbank you can target fish such as Garrick , cob , shad and other inedible species , when fishing off the rocks and in gulleys white water is generally good for all the species as this turbulence breaks off bait and other food sources such as crabs , redbait , mussels etc. and the fish come in there to look for food
@@juandregeldenhuys284 Thanks for your response. When fishing off the rocks, how do you avoid getting snagged and losing your trace? It happens to me all the time when trying to fish from rocks.
Big pleasure, it happends to the best of us , but you can try and minimize it by using the right size and type of sinker , fishing rocks a bottle sinker or even a wire sinker works very well , if you go to light on your sinker, it gets washed into holes and crevices and you then snag. Also dont wind in too much as your sinker drags along the bottom and you can get stuck more easily, so try an keep just enough tension as to not move the sinker but also to feel the bite, good luck

Daai een was by Game gekoop , maar enige outdoor tipe plek behoort dit te he
Is dit lekker om met plakkies daar te vang
The biggest blacktail i caught was 48cm
thats massive , i got one of 47cm on an earlier catchcook , get plenty in the lower 40cm but release 90% of them

very true , thanks Louvendran!!😁🎣
Try catching a parrot fish clean cook and eat that is a master peace on its own
Caught a 3.5 kg Surge Wrasse "aka Rainbow Wrasse" not to long ago. Tastes amazing, but will never kill another, they're too beautiful in my opinion.
i have never seen one in our waters here in the cape , but we do get the Cape Knifejaw and it is sometimes referred to as a "parrot"
Lekka vid!!
Shot Heath!!😁
Those Shad will made sort work of a plastic .. their teeth are like razor blades.😁
yeah they slice it into blocks all the time, was looking for a cob but when i saw the shad are biting i changed to a spoon and got one more

Can one cath shad in western cape this time of year
Indeed Jayden , but they generally get less as you go into winter
How do you not get stuck on the rocks
Let him catch his own fish and you catch yours
