Wow, Amazing. i'm a devout lover of Interview with the vampire and that was the first time i heard this song and have been looking for it recently. I'd love to learn this song on my piano but i cannot find it anywhere, i'd really like to find the interview version though ^_^.

It is not a 'song'. The word 'piece' is much more appropriate; "song' is quite wrong.

    • @rufuscoppertop330

      Song? Seriously? Dude......it's a sonata. Or a 'piece'. It's not a song.

Ooh, look at me-- I can lecture someone on using "song" instead of "piece". Hows about we call it MUSIC, and you uptight putzes can complain about something useful for once.

@@thomasskoronski8625 indeed. Sonatas are not vocal music. Song is not correct.

Actually it's a harpsichord, a piano strikes the strings, a harpsichord plucks them

This is driving me crazy. This was used in a movie in the last year, but I'll be damned if I can remember the title. Ahhh! A little film I think. God, it's killing me.

Did he fudge it up at 2:17 ? Is it supposed to be like that ? Did my connection lag there ? Was this the work of Illuminati ? Innominati ? 'I have to go potty' ? I need iron so my blood will clotty ? My wife thinks Deadpool (R.R.) is a major hottie ? I smoke alot of weed, so my memory is shotty ? Watching porn and feeling naughty ? I deserve a round of applaudy ? OMGoddy ?

What a pity!!! The player does it good, but he plays according to the Rubio edition, which in this sonata is full of mistakes, specially concerning to the repetition of the first part and the transition to the second part, where it must be played just the D flat - D flat - E flat group (without the B - A sharp - G sharp group) and they must played as eight-notes, not as quarter notes. Listen to the Bob van Asperen or Luis Fernando Pérez recordings to see how it must really sound. For everybody who want to play any of the Soler 12 sonatas from the Conservatory of Madrid manuscript, please follow the Ife & Truby edition. For more information, you can read and download my doctoral thesis about the Soler sonatas in my web page (www.enriqueigoa.net).

I most confess I don't know this sonata, or the Soler sonatas in general, as much as you do. But would love to play this very fine piece. I shall try to read your web page :) My objection to this interpretation (which applies to that of another chap on UA-cam too) is that he plays the bit where the left hand crosses and the right hand plays an Alberti bass so much faster than his main tempo. Maybe it's a tradition amongst some performers but not one I subscribe to. Maybe it is written in the Rubio edition, I don't know... I do like some aspects of the players performance though.

I don't wish my previous comment to detract from the fact that this is generally an enjoyable and very thoughtful interpretation. But as a contrast, viewers may also wish to listen to Alicia de Larocha and Margherita Torretta's performances also on UA-cam.

Claudia was not as good as him and Soler ! And besides the little actress was just pretending to play while the soundtrack was used !
