I want to know what guitar the intro music was played on! Great tone to that!

The paint might be throwing off my insight but the Godin looks to be 1" - 2" narrower across the fwd and after measure. The Eastman appears to be wider (larger) and has larger f holes... therefore deeper and more resonant.
Note that a laminated construction will be less sensitive to cracking, so if this isn't going to be your daily player that you devote effort to care for (read humidity control), you may be safer with the laminated godin. My $0.02. Both beauties!

Well the mention of Freddie Green shows that you know the history of the big band era and one of the touchstones of the jazz age. I wonder if Freddie was alive today if he wouldn't pick the Godin and crank up an amp to really cut through and bring that rhythm to the front. I am old enough and lucky enough to have seen some of those jazz giants in person. Nothing like the sound of a big band to raise your spirits and your energy. Great players, a great song coupled with a great arrangement makes for an electrifying listening experience. Nice playing and two very nice instruments.

I'd be interested to know what gauge and type of the strings on them (the sound on both lead me to guess med or lighter, height on the low side? -would have loved to hear it with less string buzz. Thanks a bunch for demo :>)

We shot this video many years ago so I'm sorry to say that we don't remember! Eastman currently ship this model with D'Addario NYXL 12s, so I suspect these likely had a D'Addario EJ21 set or something similar. Hope this helps!

There is a world of difference; the question is, how much does it matter?
    Nice demo, Mr.K. Thanks.

Doubtless my tin ear, but I hear the difference as infinitesimal. Yeh, of course the Eastman is aesthetically more appealing appearance.

Yeah, the Eastman resonates more naturally. Nice playing, too.

Enjoyed your playing. To my ears, the Eastman sound is fuller and more natural, slightly melodic, which is perfect for acoustic blues. The Godin sounds good, its the wood, baby.

You're right, Green. The Eastman's larger body and all wood construction make it a very different animal. The Godin is a perfect starter Jazz box.
