Synopsis: From the comedic mind of Tina Fey comes a new twist on the modern classic, MEAN GIRLS. New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called "The Plastics," ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina's ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina's crosshairs. As Cady sets to take down the group's apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli'i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school.

You all comparing these actors to the original Mean Girls movie actors, while we all know this movie is coming out in the 2020s and new actors are coming into the industry who want to bring their own kind of energy to the characters so stop comparing them when you haven't even watched it yet!

The ONE complaint with the casting is how he just doesn't give off Aaron Samuels as well as the other actors with their characters... I'm hoping to be proven wrong, but it has me nervous.
yeah, chris is great at playing other roles, but doesn't seem like a good aaron samuels fit, especially if he's not going to sing. it was more of a popularity contest, I feel like, since tina mentioned that a survey for teenagers wanted him to be casted. still excited to see the musical, though!!

Remember this is also a musical and looks don’t always make a character acting makes a character, im actually interested in hearing Christopher Briney sing.

Sadly, he doesn't even sing in it. That's why I'm like "so if you weren't chosen for your voice... what happened?" Respectfully. I'm sure he brings a new perspective to the character, just doesn't work right in my brain. Almost seems like a typecast because of his upcoming popularity... but still, VERY excited to see the movie.@@oOoSamieoOo
Really looking forward to this, whatever people say, I think it's going to come out as a cool movie/musical. Moreover Reneé plays Regina, that's already more than amazing. Ppl really have to give this project a chance, I'm sure I'll be enjoying watching it
The marketing around the film makes it seem so cheap. I hope it's not.
Why do I want Tina Fey to say my name after watching this?
It's hilarious how they clearly Frankensteined three or four clips together to get these soundbytes, it's like all the marketing around this film, zero sincerity. Also I think Dear Evan Hansen scared them away from marketing a musical when that was never the issue.

I got to tell you I’m actually surprised with angourie transformation at first she just looks like regular girl but now she actually looks like a hot girl wow I don’t know why I never noticed before wow The good looks you don’t know you have I guess there really is a hot person somewhere around us unless you look hard enough

This is based off the musical. Has a different take on Mean Girls, especially considering the original mean girls came out 20 years ago (I feel old since I saw the original in theatres) and social media wasn't even a thing. 20 years ago, Facebook was just starting.

It's a musical adaptation, but for some reason they aren't marketing it as a musical. From what I've seen it's not an exact remake it's a combination of the Broadway version and the original movie but idk why they are leaving the music out of the trailers though 🤷♀️
