Okay, that gopher x corn hybrid was amazing. Before I got out of the hobby for a break, I had a hypo jungle corn and that animal was INSANE looking, so yellow and purple, the coolest head, and a very chill and handlable critter

Not all Molly(female) Mules are sterile btw, there's rare cases of Molly mules getting pregnant and having a foal.
I was using general rules of thumb, not exceptions to the rule, as examples. But that's cool to know!

Hello. I have a Mexican black king and a butter corn snake . Is it safe to breed them? I mean .. can they eat eachother? And what precautions should I be taking and how viable is it?

It isn't as easy as just putting them together because they have different pheromones. People who breed hybrids usually have a pair of each species so that they can all smell the pheromones of their own species when breeding. There are definitely risks of one eating the other! Which is why it is always recommended to watch them very carefully. I do not personally breed hybrids, but I have friends who do and have explained a lot to me over the years.

Great videos, with lots of info, thanks for the content. I've been getting interested in palmetto corns maybe that would be a good video since some have different variation of bug eye, on some not all, and maybe why that happens or doesn't happen.

Corn snakes are so neat in how they can just. Breed with whatever 😂 even old world rats. There's been a beauty rat x corn snake done before but it's hard to come across images of them

@@SarahsSnakeShop from what I could gather from it, the person who did it only had one good egg come out of it. I've seen a photo of the offspring but idk what came of it tho. Really unique animal and makes me wonder how well corns would take to the old world Elaphe family of rat snakes.
What can breed with common garter snakes or dekay's brown snakes? I have both wild in my yard but unless I could practice hybrid breeding i just don't want to breed either since both are pretty in their own way but what fun is breeding something that'll just have offspring that look exactly like the parents, a bit boring for me☹️
I don't know anything about garter snakes. But definitely check your state laws before getting snakes - in many states it's illegal to own anything native

Technically yes. It takes patience and skill to do as the breeder to make sure the king doesn't try to eat the corn. It's also best is the corn is the male, since male kings have spurs on their peens that can cause damage to a female corn. I've also heard it's best to have a pair of each so the pheromones line up.

I'd say unlikely. I haven't seen hybrids with corns & other snakes that aren't native to North America

Well no babies can breed 😜. But I haven't ever seen anyone try that cross
