- The late Leon Fleisher (1928-2020) teaches the opening cadenza from Brahms's epic Second Piano Concerto, a piece he immortalized nearly 60 years ago in a recording with George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra. Featuring Rachel Naomi Kudo, piano.
Filmed at Fleisher's home in early February 2020, a month before the pandemic hit the United States and six months before he passed away, his tonebase sessions represent the summation of nine decades of world-historical artistry at the piano.

This sounds very much like how Edwin Fischer and Wilhelm Furtwangler performed it in the recording I remember - a live one made during WW2. The huge piano sound was memorable throughout.
Yes! The best Brahms piano concerto players are Really=Grigory Sokolov with the Finnish Radio Symphony video from 1987! Sviatoslav Richter with The Paris Orchestra with Lorin Maazel! Edwin Fischer from 1942!!
Learning how to be a trickster! Wish he was my teacher. My teacher was an evil cow who turned me off playing piano all together.
Have you started again? If not you really should
Who’s your teacher?
Does the shoulder need to have so much tension when playing?
I think the nostrils should be more relaxed!
