Milford Regional’s first ICU COVID-19-ventilated patient discharged

Kenneth Joensson claims the dubious honor as Milford Regional’s first ICU COVID-19-ventilated patient to be discharged on April 18. He remembers very little after he arrived at the hospital by ambulance on March 29 and was admitted to the ICU.
After 11 days in the ICU and one week on a patient floor, what Ken does remember is “the degree to which the nurses comforted me.” Ken says he will never forget how they went “above and beyond to make sure I was okay.”
Ken calls surviving COVID-19 a life-changing experience. We call Ken’s recovery a celebration our staff will long remember. Stay well, Ken! We are SO happy to hear you continue to do well at home!
