Ghost Soldiers, Corrupt Regime: US-Trained Afghan Army Was Stronger Than Taliban... Only On Paper
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 вер 2024
- Ever since US announced withdrawal of troop, Taliban went on a rampage to seize one district after another. A Taliban spokesperson asserted that most of these provinces were seized by them without a battle. Taliban’s rapid advance made clear that US efforts to turn Afghan military into a robust, independent fighting force have failed.
Built over 20 years, how did Afghan army collapse? Why did Afghan forces not resist Taliban? How did Kabul fall despite the well trained Afghan army?

Won't be surprised if a large portion of the "afghan army" were actually planted taliban in disguise
I wouldn't doubt it. There's a video out there of an American soldier teaching Afghanis how to do jumping jacks and none of the Afghanis were taking the training seriously. Couldn't tell if the Afghanis were stupid, inexperienced, lazy,, trolling, or Taliban decoys
You mean like a solid half of the ANA and ANP?
@@theephantommenace Well half of those guys were high on opium and also never heard of jumping Jacks. The other half are literally Taliban roleplaying as Afghan soldiers in front of the US for free money, guns, and equipment. I think the US finally realized these ANA soldiers are Taliban sympathizers and purposefully pretending to be incompetent to get money and more equipment.
@@theephantommenace oh. given the corrpution and negligence, wouldn't be impossible.
I doubt it was a large portion. From what I saw there most afghan soldiers were only there for a paycheck and had notoriously poor discipline and moral. Once they knew the US wouldn't come to bail them out they decided a corrupt government that most felt no real loyalty anyway wasn't worth dying for. And considering how corrupt it clearly was I can't really blame them. Afghan special forces however put up a good fight from what I heard.
There was not even a fight... Afghan Army wasn't defeated... They surrendered without putting up a fight.
Edit: So.. This became my most liked comment ever 😮
They knows who is their enemy.
Exactly! They need to stop with the propaganda. They couldn't even do jumping jacks 8yrs ago.

I like how they just gave all that "ADVANCED WEAPONRY" to the taliban, now they're more powerful than ever.

I've never seen a positive portrayal of the relationship between the afghan forces and their US trainers in Afghanistan documentaries or movies. Politically, everything relied on assuming Afghanistan would want to emulate the West. In reality, it didn't. We knew this ending was coming for years.
So, you’re assuming that an average Afgani wants to be ruled by Taliban? Then why would so many tried to leave on the day that Taliban overran Kabul?
Their morale was so low that even the Roman legions could defeat them, yes that's what I said, the Roman legions.

At the end of the day, the Afghans didn't have the heart to fight the Taliban. Things will only change if their citizens want it to happen bad enough via civil wars. It's not Afghan soldiers collapsing, it's the US force collapsed.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the cowardice of the afghan army, like….I can’t believe they gave up THAT easily against the Taliban. Not to mention the president made sure he got his flight out. 20 years of being in Afghanistan and it was all over practically overnight. 20 year war for nothing but $2 Trillion in the hole for a war on terror, and graves of our soldiers. So yeah, pretty much ultimately for nothing.
you have to remember what the afghan people and region is like as a whole, for centuries they've never really had a central govenment, never had a western style "country", they always have and always will stick with their local tribes and regions, the Taliban are the only ones so far that succeeded in spreading their influence all across the country. most of the ANA were conscripted and never wanted to fight "their own" whether taliban or not, everyone with a brain and/or had been to afghanistan themselves knew this would happen
My only conclusion is that they WANTED the Taliban to take over.Citizens aside, the puppet government was a hogwash and never really existed
The Soviet Afghan war helped speed up the collapse of the USSR as well. I'm wondering if America is going to collapse within the next 2 years.

The ANA is a joke! I've seen ANA flee from Taliban many a time.... They only would fight if they US was around. You are confused. Vietnam was not Communist, Nam was supported by the USSR and by China, but in reality, Nam was not and is not today a Commie State. Nam fought for the independence of his country. First, against the French invasion. Then against the invasion of the Japanese Empire, finally, Nam fought against the invasion of the US. Communism is not a System of Gov't. Communism is an Economic Model. In fact, Communism is only a Philosophical (and Economic) Theory, but an unenforceable Utopia. The purpose of Propaganda is to confuse. Even right now: There is NO longer a Communist enemy. So the Propaganda has created us a Terrorist enemy. U R Confused... don't be.

China approached Nam's northern border to demand that Nam withdraw from Kampuchea and Nam's army fired all its artillery. The conflict lasted 27 days and nearly 10,000 Chinese and Vietnamese soldiers died. Neither China nor Vietnam invaded each other and neither China nor Nam used fighter jets.
