Hearing the children shout 'yeah' in the background at 2:17 2:42 and 2:58 somehow fills my heart with joy.
And in twist from anima as well
This video is the most confusing thing to me. I watched it when I was fairly young, and for the longest time, I could never find it and thought it was a fever dream. I asked my parents about an animated band, and somehow got hooked on Gorillaz, and now years later, after asking my dad about some bizarre song with a weird animation, he tells me the name, and now here I am.
What a journey! Very relatable experience.
My parents would listen to this in the late 2000's and radiohead is now a staple of a nostalgic childhood
Your dad has great taste in bands
I’ve had an experience like this but with the song Kids by MGMT because the music video played while I was watching Beavis and Butthead with my mom and it scarred me but I could never find it again until years later. Thought it was a nightmare or something
@Marcus Straya Stop being an obtuse idiot.
Finally an anime more confusing than Evangelion
Tokyo ghoul is pretty confusing too lol
Read the manga pleb😭
Oh, you probably haven't tried paranoid android or burn the witch, or weird fishes. They're definition of confusion
@@mariamman burn the witch is pretty straight forward and weird fishes is more of an artsy thing, not to be understood
this is just mental...
@@mariamman tbh I feel like this one's mor confusing.
I really like this song. I really will never understand this video.
The random things are magic.
+Nato RANDOM DOESN'T EQUAL FUNNY 😠
Gabriel Molina Acosta Shhhhhh
I think its about a child who grows up in a world which he is not welcome to, just look at the shoot with the plant at the end, you can see his reaction as the shadow approaches into stomping the plant, i assume the plant represents him, there are metaphors all over the place, the big robot with the purple hair might be his abusive mother showing her as cruel and emotionless like a robot, it shoots a beam from its mouth so it might be a metaphor about screaming to him and also the scene with the statue might mean that he is treaten bad by society and that he feels guilty and the he deserves it because everything is his fold, people always blame other people for their mistakse and if you are a child with low self esteem it will cripple you, thats why he is running, he is trying to run away from everthing but his imagination comes from his anxiety, kinda like Binding of Isaac where isaac tries to escape reality with his imagination , those are my thoughts oyoyoy
Good point of view. :D
2:10 That bass...
umwaht
Radiohead is my favorite anime

Ah yes, the In Rainbows arc was great.
Man I wonder what caused them to spiral down so hard at the A Moon Shaped Pool ark tho
The Pablo Honey ark is awful
@@vectorjeldes True, true
( *Gets mtv beach house flashbacks* )
@@vectorjeldes Luckily it got really good at The Bends arc and the Ok Computer arc
@@fghjkas5098 hail to the thief arc was good too
This is one of the most underrated songs of all time.
Plenty people like this song, unlike songs in Amnesiac or Kid-A which you can really call underrated
@Alex Kalinin Forgot about this comment but lmao I didn't know what I was talking about, yes that's right about the two albums
dont forget let down
let down underrated
not underrated, but is really great
3:47 Ngl, But each time the floating gun image appears i just laugh at how it looks lmao.
2:32 is so mind blowing to me. That echoing noise fills me with such peace
The boy's design reminds me of both Doraemon and Osomatsu-kun
I thought the same thing yeah, this art-style is very reminiscent of that style, whether intentional or not.
YES its like a combination of both
MadameSomnambule yup
That kid is nobita - glasses
Yes he does resemble Nobita
my art teacher plays this song in art class. and now since he puts songs from radiohead i like this band now
:D

This is the reason why we should have more animated music videos.
PeturwemsLibrary What??
TjsWorld2011 ikr? I haven't seen any released recently.
Don't want to disrespect anyone's work but IMO this video was meh, I don't like it at all, I feel that in some moments it could fit the song but fail to do so. This video could have been better, and it could fit better with another song.
Paranoid Android is a better example of why we should have more animated videos.
Both songs are amazing tho
i know i'm late, but **cough*gorillaz*cough**
Gorillaz is pretty shit now.
God I remember when this album came out, I was instantly in love with it beginning to end.
Me: “Guitar God, please bless us with a guitar melody”
Guitar Gods: 0:42
haha
it's actually a bass
@@washmonument There are both a guitar and a bass

Oh this is cute WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK IS ON THAT TRAIN.
Maybe an ominous omen of the things that are about to happen to the guy in the vid? At least that's how i see it =)
Ooh, how cute everything looks 🥰🥰...pls don't kill my family 💀
I don't know why people don't like this music video, I love it. It's so ridiculously absurd that it captures the feeling of 15 Step being a chaotic song.
I love 5/4
15/4 *
@@vilespecter it could very well be either. I could write most 4/4 songs as 8/4 and nothing would change
@@michaelhird432 I know, it was me paying homage to the song title.
@@vilespecter ...oh
What about 36/16?
I didn't know Thom was a weeb
Dominic Lol C'mon. It's just a music video. Not everything makes you a weaboo.
what else would you expect
Did you see the stickers on johnny’s guitars?
@@User-xw6kd its just a joke chill

15 steps is now 15 years old
It's 16 years old. In rainbows came out in 2007. This music video is 15 years old.
Whenever I heard the name "Radiohead" I only got the impression of either trippy, loud or meaningless songs... this was their first I ever listened to, and I'm absolutely impressed
You don't know how wrong you were .
I mean they've done some trippy stuff but not as a routine thing
@@droptherapy2085 yeah but meaningless is about as far off as you can come in my opinion
@@jonatandige8895 A lot of their songs have incoherent lyrics, so in that way they lack meaning, but those tend to foster a strong vibe to them, purposeful in their insanity.
read the lyrics
At 1:45 you can see the picture of the Trifid Nebula used for the cover of King Crimson's 1971 album Islands.

I absolutely love this song. And this video is so ridiculously trippy that its awesome.
I love the synchronization of this wonderful animation with the song.
somelike Paranoid Android song with that other animation...
Radiohead + random Animations= exciting addiction.
El Nato 👌
Well Paranoid Android's music video was technically an episode of a Swedish TV show. This meanwhile appears to be unconnected to any preexisting media other than the music.
Well but all know the history behind paranoid android music video. The poor guy didn't know the lyrics.
@@VinchVolt The "main character" of the music video kinda reminds me of the art style of Doraemon
This song for some reason remind me Paranoid Android
This video is even more surrealist than Paprika.
Raul M.M.U. Yes!!! this video reminded me alot of Paprika.
My conclusion: Things that confuse us can also terrify us, and vice versa.
It’s a great video!
after 2:42 its total madness
Her: babe come over
Me: No I can't
Her: My parents aren't home
Me:
spongebob charapters be silly as fuck and then have a shot like this 1:19
I came here thinking that this was some sort of Osomatsu-kun tribute. I was wrong. I was very, very, wrong.
It kind of is, in a way.
+bubblegum03 The only ties I can see are the main character's appearance and that one bit at 2:38
Omg same xD
I think Radiohead tried to choose a variety of winners rather than just one style of video. I agree that the video that won for "Videotape" is what Radiohead's style is more like but I don't think they wanted to limit it to just that. I think they choose the most creative one that appealed to them.
Twilight brought me here and I love it!
@discordant dancers, are you... Ok?

Love this song can't get it out of my head
Is it still stuck in your head?
@@farberam It is in mine now.
This song will never get old I swear.
Im looking for similar sounding songs of Radiohead (or other bands) like this particular song. I've had a look at Radiohead's collection of music and each songs sounds radically different than the last in my opinion which is of course great as a band but less great when you're in the mood for a similar sound.
Cradboradfy i have some that sound kind of like this or you'd maybe like.
Mother mother
amanda palmer
florence and the machine
Maybe teleman, alt-j, anything off of the album "time out" by the dave brubeck quartet, or hiatus kaiyote
corn cob boy pop e ew
The entire thing reminds me of nightmares. Starts normalish with a few things out of place and then ends with you feeling completely powerless, even about to die. Then it flashes and you wake up.
While Radiohead is more of a quirky band and this video tends more toward wacky, I still think it was a great animation that went with the song pretty well :)
Myotic TeSeract yup
Myotic Tesseract agreed😊
I never thought I'd see someone use "quirky" and "wacky" with clear distinctions between the words.
In what sense do you see radio head as quirky, there the most innovative band on the planet and quirky is a bad term of expression.
Radiohead kinda quirky doe 😎
15 step--15 trips more like
"You used to be alright, what happened?"
2:21 "I used to be a wimp, until I got anchor arms"
pff
:) It was nice with this video for 15 steps. Creds to you Radiohead as well as Kota Totori, thanks for making this public on YT!!
Have a nice summer.
Holy shit a 12 year old comment
This song does something to me. I can't explain the feeling. But I love it.
Is this the most happy sounding radiohead song?
This video premiered on Adult Swim in 2008. I remember it well, because I was a big fan of Adult Swim back then. I remember thinking how cool it was that Adult Swim had a partnership with one of my favorite bands. It is also their album where you could go to their website and download for whatever amount you wanted to pay.
Just listening to the album "in rainbows" by radiohead i luv the whole thing
i just realised this song is in twilight lmao
Thom Yorke -hearing damage also was in twilight.
jesus christ this video is haunting
Fantastic song
This song slaps
While the video for Weird Fishes is certainly more disturbing, somehow this makes even less sense.
"What happened? Incineroar... Incineroar.. 😢" is my favorite line
I hate to say it, but think of the main character as Osomatsu and this whole video changes
Wasn’t keen on Radiohead in the 90’s. But love them now. Has life changed me so much?
3:46 vibe check
Radiohead. Farther away, where they still do not wait. Thank you guys for "In Rainbows".
Jesus was jamming bobbing my head not looking at the video then stared at 1:17 jesus
This is the trippiest music video I've ever seen, and that's saying something.

Nightmarish surreal video that, at first glance, does not vibe with the song, even though it perfectly depicts the constant paranoia and lingering wistfulness of modern life - the song's core message.
Gotta love that iMovie intro
How many drugs they took to do this mv?
I'll always treasure the time we had Margaret, may you rest in peace
Currently im listening to radiohead " 15 step"
It's weird to see a happy song of radiohead

And song…
finally a mainstream 5/4

The art style reminds me so much of that anime Osomatsu-san
what episode of osomatsu is this
Awesomeness
You just can't categorize Radiohead. They're not just alternative or rock or indie. Radiohead is Radiohead.
Songs like these sometimes makes me feel like going back in time near about year 2000 and never come back.
Didnt realize this vid dropped the day I was born until now peak song too radiohead is fire 😭🙏🙏
I think this video is about heartbreak and paranoia, which is partly portrayed through the scary faces on the trains and him fearing everything, as well as thinking about the girl and her falling apart
Gives me flamenco vibes ❤
