    I'd say not *all* Legendaries are gods. Clearly stuff like Articuno, Mew, the Regis, Heatran, Cosmog are rare animals, even rarer than Pseudo Legendaries and other hard to get mons since they can't be bread in captivity, nor any of their evo line can. But for stuff that clearly is a unique individual, eternal and with power beyond what regular Pokemon can do like, forming water from nothing, creating or giving life and bringing back the dead, then that thing is functionally a god.

    • @EliteTrainerLin
      @EliteTrainerLin  6 місяців тому +5

      I guess it all depends on how you define what a "god" is! In my mind they'd have to be literal creators of the universe, time, space, essentially be immortal etc to be "gods", but to be fair in a lot of cultures (Japan included) gods can be small and just rule a small part of nature. Nevertheless my opinion is still that the humans in the pokemon world that worship pokemon as if they were all-powerful gods are "mistaken", like how the two clans in legends arceus argue about what the "correct" one to worship is! If we believe the dex, then plenty of ghost types are brought back to life from the dead, so even something as amazing as that is never really exclusive to the legendaries.

    • @Quickpatch12
      @Quickpatch12 6 місяців тому +5

      @@EliteTrainerLin I mean too be fair, Dialga and Palkia literally control time and space, and arceus created everything else, and the lake trio created wisdom, emotion, and will power, I say that is very much what gods would do

    • @EliteTrainerLin
      @EliteTrainerLin  6 місяців тому

      @@Quickpatch12 I very much question your use of "literally", how do you know the trio created wisdom, emotion and will power? How do you know it's not just the regional folklore? You'd then also have to accept that in the pokemon world humans were some kind of empty husks without thoughts or feelings until those 3 came along!

    • @Quickpatch12
      @Quickpatch12 6 місяців тому +2

      @EliteTrainerLin for that I go with the fact of what the trio can do, it has been stated in many pokedex entries that Mesprit can take away emotions, Azelf takes away will power, and Uxie takes away wisdom. No other pokemon can do that.
      Plus your case is assuming that humans existed before the lake trio did, when it could more likely be the case that they were created before humans existed. I go by that because that would mean humans are older then Mew, the ancestor to all Pokemon (accepted since Mew is the only one that can learn every pokemon move that are not signature moves)

    • @EliteTrainerLin
      @EliteTrainerLin  6 місяців тому

      @@Quickpatch12 For the trio to have "given" their gifts to humans they would have have to existed without them before. Sobble can force anyone to get sad and cry, grass typs can often calm you down, psychic types can control your movements - it's not at all unusual for pokemon to have powers that "forcefully" affects emotions, thoughts or actions of others!

    My unpopular opinion: Recently there's been people wanting GF to return to making 2D games for Pokemon, and, while I'd like to play that too, this is not the surefire way of making "Pokemon great again" people has been hyping it up to be. There's good 3D games (duh) but also bad 2D ones.
    A more effective way of making good games is having good development periods, with good length, vision and direction!

    Honestly I have always doubted the whole "legendaries are literal gods" thing and I'm glad someone brought it up haha. I always interpret it as people *believing* certain Pokemon are deities because of their power but it's not necessarily literal cuz--like, I can put it in a ball and make it obey my commands lolll. And the Pokedex is notorious for overexaggerating anyway. My trainer has definitely looked at Shedinja's back more than once and they still have their soul as far as I can tell.

    • @KazShiro
      @KazShiro 6 місяців тому +1

      What they don't realize is that it was straight up confirmed that not all legendaries are actually Gods, some may be bordering on demigod territory but legendaries like the birds, beasts, lati's are just superhuman tier or super rare beefed up mortals especially since some of them canonically breed. The only ones that are straight up God's are certain boxart legendaries like Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and propably Eternatus(more like alien) And to answer the "catching god and letting it tell it what to do" is the fact that YES they do let you capture it if you managed to prove that you can catch them.
      Or in the case of Legends Arceus, the form you battle with or "catch" is confirmed to be an avatar of them and that was way after some were begining to question the legitimacy of God tier pokemon being in a pokeball(or masterball) and listening to a 10 year old. And thats not including the fact that Cyrus gives you a masterball because he straight up tells you that unlike the red chain, the masterball would limit its full power which also would imply why some pokemon dont get wounded that bad in pokemon battles trainers have despite yknow certain signature moves being used that would likely kill someone.

    I feel Ash was stagnating too much, which is a shame because early seasons smack-talking Ash was funny. Woulda liked to see more of that instead of the generic kid character he devolved into. Liko and Roy really haven't been it as replacements, least in my opinion

    • @EliteTrainerLin
      @EliteTrainerLin  6 місяців тому +2

      I think Ash had a lot of cool arcs within the seasons/generations. XY had the best story out of all of them I think! And seeing him become the Alolan champion and then world champion was really cool and a great finish to his story. But I'd still love to see more adventures from him, and I have to agree - the new protagonists (and later version Ash) are too generic and too "nice". I think it's a development of the 2000s slowly turning every cartoon character into a "flawless rolemodel", they can't show "rude" kids in cartoons or parents get mad that their kids might copy them! Meanwhile the old cartoons those parents watched had Tom and Jerry trying to violently take each other out, and they turned into normal adults...

    I think it can be very easy to get sick of remakes due to the constant overabundance of fans asking for them to be made. I remember hearing that ppl were expecting Hoenn remakes in Gen5, which with hindsight sounds even stupider. As we know, they create just 1 set of remakes per every system. FRLG on GBA, DP on DS, ORAS on 3DS & BDSPiss on Switch (Kanto remakes have already been made back in Gen3, so LGPE doesn't count). There was a minor demand for Hoenn remakes on the DS when Jotho remakes were already on the DS. & secondly, there wouldn't be much of a graphical improvement from RSE to the then-current Gen5 games.
    There're talks about the possibility of outsourced Gen5 remakes later this year, but I don't believe that. I've a suspicious feeling that they wouldn't come out until the Gen10, at very least, which would most likely be on the next console, fitting perfectly with the "1 pair of remakes on each console" rule.

      Same about eevee! I might be totally wrong here, but I *think* the reason people like eevee is *because* it can evolve into so many cool(er) pokemon, so to focus on eevee itself kind of misses the point of why it's popular in the first place.

    I feel you on the remakes for sure. I get it from the standpoint of being able to play certain games on current consoles but to straight remake classics isn't great as many times you lose what makes them great. I feel you on the Zubats as it's a great way to level my guys up because Pokemon at times is supposed to be a grind. Mr. Mime for me isn't so much that people don't like clowns so much as the old Gen games Mimie as Ash's mom calls him was more defensive than offensive so many times he wasn't a great fit for teams unlike your Abra or Drowzee lines that fit most balanced teams well. Yes Drowzee is back to ruin your day.

    Mine are:
    -super training should have never left, aside from Legends Arceus since their was no pokemon amie equivalent in that game (as well as getting an eeveeloution out of it).
    -the moss rock and icy rock (and the highly magnetic areas) are totally fine evolution methods, those who complain about using them are just being lazy (about using them, not when they're placed in the post game despite having Pokemon that evolve with them that you can obtain before the league, that's never fine)
    -Friendship evolutions are worse than trade evolutions, at least with trade evolutions, if you're able to pull them off, they're both a breeze, as well as one and done; friendship evolutions not only take an excruciatingly long time but also often lock several features behind them, ORAS being the biggest offender of it.
    -(this one is a reponse to one of your points) chansey was done better in let's go then it was in the other kanto games for the sole reason that's it NOT in the safari zone, what's the point of creating a high exp.yeilding enemy if you're gonna place it an area where you can't battle it? For at least FireRd and Leafgreen, couldn't it have traded areas with like tangela or someone?

    I think the only thing I really disagreed with was the remakes. I loved Fire Red, Leaf Green, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire so much. They rekindled that nostalgia but it wasnt a carbon copy. The latest remake with gen 4 really let me down. I have no words to describe my salt levels for how one of my favorite regions got wronged. I also like them because some of the older versions just are not released on newer gen consoles and playing the original copies gets expensive or is just done alternative ways.
    I loved Lumiose for hatching eggs. Zubat only annoyed me in Crystal when I didnt have fly or repels. Otherwise I really love it. Hoenn is one of the best regions, definitely.

    • @EliteTrainerLin
      @EliteTrainerLin  7 місяців тому

      Just to be clear, I still had a ton of fun playing those games! I honestly think HGSS is hands down the best version of Johto we've ever gotten (so far!). But ORAS is not better than emerald, BDSP is not better than platinum, and LGPE is not better than FRLG. If you make a remake it has to at the very least be better than the latest installment of that game, or we might as well just keep playing the old game! Part of the fun for me personally for remakes is seeing new pokemon in the older regions (using an all Galarian team in Johto would be so cool!) but with LGPE and BDSP they just ditched that feature and strictly kept to old pokemon. I think liking ORAS is fair, but I missed battle frontier and contests too much to say it's better than emerald.

    • @Agentsquirtle
      @Agentsquirtle 7 місяців тому +2

      I completely agree with the Battle Frontier. I thought it was a slap in the face when they had that little model thing and had a "coming soon" instead of actually having it. It would have added so much extra to the games because the Battle Frontier is so unique and challenging. That being in ORAS would have made it perfect for me. I liked the Lati twins flying feature a lot in those as well.
      I forget about the Let's Go games being remakes. I consider them more trying to get people to play Pokémon Go, but I can definitely see the remakes argument. I wouldn'tbe able to handle a shiny running away though lol. They looked cute but I wouldn't play them myself. BDSP just broke my heart when I saw them. I'd been so excited for a remake for gen 4 until that junk. I remember countless hours digging for underground treasure in the underground. Such a cool feature for rare items. @EliteTrainerLin

    • @EliteTrainerLin
      @EliteTrainerLin  6 місяців тому

      @@Agentsquirtle As LGPE are considered "main series games" by game freak we have to begrudgingly accept them as remakes lol. Since you didn't play it let me tell you another thing about them that bothers me! The latest installment (remake) on some level becomes "the new canon" of the region. And sure in ORAS it's fine to imagine megas actually existed all along, and Zinnia was always hiding in the region somewhere... but in LGPE the main character isn't Red (or the female Leaf/Green) and the rival isn't Blue - which means the new "canon" of Kanto is that Red did NOT beat team rocket, save cubone, or become champion. It never happened, because now the latest canon is that Chase/Elaine was the one who did it all (with the rival Trace). That just feels SO wrong to me!

    • @EliteTrainerLin

      It depends on how you define "a happy fanbase". Pokemon is one of THE biggest franchaises in the world and each and every fan has their own opinions, so of course there will NEVER be any one single thing every pokemon fan agrees on! But overall most fans have always been happy with the games, there's just a small vocal angry minority online, but this is also true for every single franchaise ever made and is in no way exclusive to pokemon so I find it's unfair to act as if it's somehow a pokemon fandom issue! (In my opinion the pokemon fandom is one of the LEAST toxic fandoms I've seen, and it's so big that if you block and ignore every toxic person you have literally millions of nice people left! You sadly can't do that as easily with smaller fandoms)

    Ash is a fantastic character, but really it was his time to go. He had a wonderful development throughline throughout the gens (except 1 of them lol) and, but he had reached the end of it, maturing greatly and there was nowhere else to really go. He had become an even better character, but at the end, he remains a completed character and to continue making following his journey interesting over a long period of time, it would require either to regress his character or come up with a new character arc that would certainly feel contrived and out of place. I'm a fan of when stories truly end completely tbh, especially since many will often decline if going on too long because of the length, so I'm glad we have our complete and finalized story now.

And the could just age him up and/or give him a new goal outside of gyms, like the current anime doesn't even focus on gyms at all so Ash could easily have replaced Roy and Liko. All of Paldea is based on the fact that plenty of champions are running around all over the region, Ash would have fitted right in there! Funny thing about Lumious City is that I always thought that because it was supposed to be a big city you're supposed to get a little lost. Now when it comes to remakes they'll always be people who think they aren't needed, but it was good when the games they did were the ones you could no longer get a hold of or in the case of the gen one remakes get the pokemon you could no longer access to due to the software limitation required for transfer from the GB to the GBA. Heck after FR and LG they seemed to stick to a pattern or remake with a new system and with the gen that they remade is the half of example gen 2 with gen 4 on the ds and gen 3 with gen 6 2/3ds gen 4 with gen 8 switch...and with people now wanting gen 5 remakes with gen 9, makes sense why people are getting annoyed by it some fans are demanding it too fast.

      Oh I feel the opposite about legends, having people worship dialga and palkia as if they are gods while these "gods" have literally never done anything for them (back then or in the future) it just solidifies my thoughts that it's all in the minds of the humans! They clearly have powers relating to space and time, but they didn't create it in my opinion. Arceus is the only almost-exclusion, but even then all it really did was to use time travel to bring in a human from the future, which even just a celebi could do. But I do like that the "legends" game kind of shows us those myths/legends in action - like they kind of want us to be a bit unsure!

That’s kinda the whole point of nuzlockes is that people go outta their way to play Pokémon with a specific set of MADE UP rules. You can make up your own and play that way, no one cares. The reason “why” it’s those rules is simply because that’s how the very first person did this challenge, people saw them do it and did it themselves. Eventually so many people started using those specific rules and it became it’s own thing. But there’s so many different types of nuzlockes, they aren’t all the same. There’s kaizo runs, Ironman runs, mono type nuzlocke runs. So on and so forth. let's put it like this, if you had a small candle, it'd probably be about 1,000 or so degrees celcius. you know how hot it is? it's the same heat as *boiling lava.* but obviously, touching a small candle isn't going to burn you the same as touching lava.
    it's the same situation for magcargo. even if magcargo is hotter than the surface of the sun, magcargo isn't even close to 0.00000000000000000000000000001% the size of the sun, so the actual damage it'd cause is very miniscule in comparison. it really isn't a danger to you or the environment, unless it's in some forest/grasslands or you're trying to touch a wild magcargo for some reason lol

      @@EliteTrainerLin Eeeeh, that's only partially true. The Pokedex entries for Kadabra outright states that those are only "rumors" and "theories" about Kadabra, it never once claims them as undeniable truth.

      "A *theory* exists that this Pokémon was a young boy who couldn’t control his psychic powers and ended up transformed into this Pokémon." (Sun Dex entry for Kadabra)
      And so far, only the Gen 3 and Gen 7 dex entries ever bring this story up.
      So TLDR; The Pokedex isn't stating that a boy actually turned into a Kadabra, but only that it's a popular in-universe rumor that has gone around, similar to the real life rumor of Mew being under the truck in Vermilion City, despite there being no truth to it.

      @@EliteTrainerLin And in that *same generation,* the Emerald dex entry states: "It is rumored that a boy with psychic abilities suddenly transformed into Kadabra while he was assisting research into extrasensory powers." It's clear the intention is that the two Pokedex entries aren't contradictory, but rather that the Emerald dex entry adds further context to what Firered established. Plenty Pokedex entries do this, expanding upon or clarifying information we receive about them in future dex entries.
      Even if you really wanted to argue that the Firered dex entry is trying to paint it as a factual statement and not a rumor, it's still an outlier because literally *every* single Pokedex entry afterward that brings up the tale of the boy turning into a Kadabra begins by addressing it as a rumor or a theory. Pokemon Sun, Legends Arceus, even Emerald, a game that was released in the *same* year as Firered.
      It seems disingenuous to only pull up *one* Pokedex entry that doesn't clarify if it's a fact or a rumor and use it as proof for the Pokedex being unreliable...when every Pokedex entry afterwards directly clarifies what they mean by the statement. I'd agree you have a point if there was more than the FR entry because it'd show that the "truth" is constantly switching throughout the Pokedex...but there isn't. Lost me on saying you dont like remakes, they allow for someone who didnt play old games to play same story but better graphics

      You could just play the old game *and* get another brand new one so you have 2 games to play! And as a lover of pixel art I don't agree that the new 3D art is necessarily "better" either!

      ORAS is great, but it's not better than emerald as it dumbed down contests (which is one of my favorite things about Hoenn) and they removed battle frontier (another favorite!) and of course I already knew all of the story (apart from the post game Zinnia stuff that was new, of course). I would have preferred a *new* Hoenn game instead, where the region was expanded and we got to see all the gym leaders a few years later, the way BW2 did it!
