My sister suffered from Lewy Body Dementia, for 7 years. She was a top journalist, for NBC, in Rockefeller Center in NY. She retired to her house in Ridgefield, CT, at 64. She starred forgetting things, and falling often. She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementi, at Mount Sinai. in NY. She had round the clock caregivers, for the first 4 years. She became infirm, after the first year. She hallucinated, and saw little green furry creatures. The last 3, were at The assisted living facility, The Residence, in Darien, CT. She couldn't walk or talk at the end. I salute the whole medical staff, including caregivers and hospice, for taking such great care of my sister. God Bless!

YES!!!!! Referrals are often denied, even when family members are asking for them specifically, -especially neuro evals. I was told, "A neurologist won't see your parent for hallucinations", and this was when a neuroscience institute was on the same campus. There is a real need to find a way to encourage doctors to refer on to discriminate between Charles Bonnet syndrome and Lewy Body when it comes to the hallucinations of those who are visually impaired. Doctors tend to only see the visual issues and default to Charles Bonnet syndrome, and ignore other accompanying symptoms that may actually be a dementia related issue.

Currently dealing with persons in my life with cognitive problems. Decreased facial expression is a dead giveaway. Either a blank stare or a strange grimace is about all I see now.
