Jessie, I want you to do a series of this,NOT because you would be good at it... but because it would be utterly hilarous (sorry if I misspelled that) and that's is what most of us are subscribed to you for, your GREAT sence of humor!
A game you'll want to play (not for fan friday, just for yourself or in a play-through) is To The Moon. If you haven't already played it, know that I highly recommend it. It's very story driven with minor bits of game play, and it's really good.
Man, heavy source material ... I really appreciate the conflict between the cartoon-y design and the lightheartedness of the gameplay and the graveness of the topic and the story elements. They set out to do something, I think they succeeded. The game puts you in a position where you're just "following orders" and building something like it's Sims or whatever and takes you along for this ride where terrible things befall some alleged protagonist.
They planned to add a story mod. Also a prisoner name database actually made by player is already implemented. I think I saw "Jesse Cox" in it. Each have a little background story made by their creator.
Because it's the tutorial Jesse deserves, but not the one he needs right now, a silent game intro, a watchful demonstration of the rules, a dark tutorial.
Jesse... we need a face-cam every time you do a fan friday intro. the mental pictures that occur leave me deeply disturbed... yet overwhelmed with a sense of awe. its like butt-blench, but it's my brain instead. i need to see this jesse. I NEED THIS.
Actually if you notice when he moused over Gordon it said Actor, and clay face was once an actor, which means that Batman pulled the old switch-a-roo and saved Gordon. However he knew the chair wouldn't kill him because he is made of clay and thus didn't break his one rule. What a guy.
You know what might make a good multiplayer mode for this game. On player plays as the architect and the second plays as a prisoner. Player one's job is to build an inescapable prison and player two's job is to escape, and I would assume he would have access to certain tools and that to help him escape
I mean the story and dialog. The story and the cut scene stuff is gritty and dark, but they designed the game to look all cute and cheery. It's like putting a tutorial in Roller Coaster Tycoon and then elaborating on how little Timmy has only a few days to live and wanted to visit your park before he dies.
I like watching videos on this channel. I can always start the video, double check it is in high def, then click the "Like" button, always. I know that every time I watch one of Jesse's videos I will be entertained...If not completely stressed out that he cannot see something I find glaringly obvious! Thanks Jesse!
The tutorial mission was quite dramatic. Didn't expect a 2D game like this is even able to show the story so strongly. Jesse contributed a lot into this video as well. If this game will keep having this kind of each prisoner moments then I'll get it. Then again I might even get it if it will go Sim City or Minecraft style right after tutorial.
Open up the ledger and go to the page where they say what and when new prisoners will arrive, then turn all of them off. Turn back on when you feel ready to open the prison.
Small tip for your inevitable first prison - Open up the ledger and accept ALL of the contracts. They basically act like an initial loan with expectations (and rewards) for completing them.
Dear Esther would do well in a Modern Art Museum. On a marble plaque in front of the game would read: "Breaking all preconceptions you have about video games." "A piece dedicated to Total Biscuit, from Jesse."
The first time I played this game I just knew one day Jesse would make a fan Friday out of it and here it is! Lol but like others said this would make for a hilarious series
Well I'm so happy that you were pumped full of these chemicals and know exactly how it feels so that you can tell us first hand that it's extremely painful.
I just saw the first picture of this video and I thought Dwarf Fortress right off the bat. Hardcore game for real man. No graphics or skins or shit. Pure, raw digits.
Jesse, this is a perfect game for you. It's like Dwarf Fortress with downsyndrome. The important part is, you can make the story here! It's all about imagination.
Jesse, for your next Fan Fr-(insert day name here), you should do Yahtzee's horror point-and-click adventure game Trilby's Notes/5 Days A Stranger (seperate games). That'd be pretty great, as I'm sure a pretty big amount of your fans would agree with, even if they don't know the game, because it's horror! And we all know how much you love horror games.
Dose the image from the Heart of the Swam opening cut scene, of the Battle Cruiser falling in to the city, come to anyone else's mind, at the thought of Jesse creating a new prison?
Jesse, This game is playthrough worthy. Very jesse-esque. Simple game, but you can use your voice-skills, which is the main reason I started watching your shit 3 years ago.
I know you asked Jesse, but bare in mind when it is full price it will be more expensive. My opinion on it would be get it when it is cheaper because that way when it releases, you already have it and you got it cheaper.
i would say it has more to do with the prison staff being identical to each other and the prisoners having either randomized appearances or customized ones by people that bought the game.
no no, i got ya, i think it might've been intentional. like, you see how cheery it is, so that when things go south its really noticable, or some kind of reason like that
I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out something I think would make the videos better in my (and others) opinion. If everyone just posts how amazing things are with 0 criticism, nothing will ever improve or change. He isn't making his videos now like he is when he just started out, and that's because people told him what could be better. If 99% of the people really like the voices, then he'll continue doing them, but I don't think having another opinion should be outlawed :)
I didn't say it was, I said games were meant to be entertaining, this can be through a variety of different things, they can scare us, shock us, make us laugh or immerse us in the action taking place along with many other ways. Jesse adds his own twist to the entertainment, that's all.
Did you hear about the guy who failed to stop his train, running over a schoolbus full of children? They sentenced him to death by electric chair as well. However, after shocking him three times, he simply would not die. They brought in a team of scientists to examine him and discover why he seemed to be immune to electricity. Turns out, he was just a really bad conductor.
Wow, this was one heavy episode. I don't know how much more of this I can take. Does anyone know if there's a mod for this game that turns it into Superjail Architect?
My thoughts exactly. The Death penalty IS a brutal thing that should be avoided as much as possible, and being from Australia, where the penalty has already been abolished, I'm probably not the best person to consult on the issue. But I think that after some of the things these people have done, if they could truly be considered human, they wouldn't be able to live with themselves anyway. Thank you for being reasonable and open-minded, friend!
that was gonna be one of my arguments there is no turning back from an accident of that scale like you said you can take someone out of jail but you can't take someone out of heaven
There was an option that was added that involved changing your UA-cam screen name to your Gmail name, and choosing that option renamed you, but I am now picture less...
JEsse, I'm preety sure that eveyr Fan Friday game that you choose, everyone shouts: "PLAY SERIES PLZ!". But that's your decision, however, you have my vote for that idea :)
As for needle sterizilation - you DO realize that contaminated needles could lead to painful and long death instead of standard otherwise fast way death penalty would work, right?
Not his fault that the tutorial isn't very interesting. He did do a good job of keeping the video itself entertaining, and in the end, that's what counts.
Hey Jesse I've been listening to the podcast you do with dodger and TB.. I was not subscribed to your channel and now I have subscribed because I think you are hilarious! :)
The games does have black officers and white prisoners. There was even some in the prison Jesse was in. Like in 7:35, there was a diverse race of people in the cafeteria.
"Let him shit the floor, we'll just wipe it up" I lost it X'D
How curious. This episode made my friend actually say "How old is he? I want to marry that guy".
I giggled.
7:10 Jesse! Professional prison gang boss!
Jessie, I want you to do a series of this,NOT because you would be good at it... but because it would be utterly hilarous (sorry if I misspelled that) and that's is what most of us are subscribed to you for, your GREAT sence of humor!
This is surprisingly dark...
Interior lights are automatically added when the building is finished. You can see them when he is in utility mod, they are the round thingy.
Thanks, Jesse, your imaginative narration really made this a lot of fun to watch!
Most intense tutorial I've ever seen.
A game you'll want to play (not for fan friday, just for yourself or in a play-through) is To The Moon. If you haven't already played it, know that I highly recommend it. It's very story driven with minor bits of game play, and it's really good.

Please do some more of this game, it's the funniest thing I've seen all week by a mile!
Love the "Guard Party"music, there should definetly be a Mashup of all of the Songs Jesse Cox has created. That would be amazing!
There way of portraying a "cut-scene" is atmospheric while maintaining regular gameplay. Pretty cool
Actually if you notice when he moused over Gordon it said Actor, and clay face was once an actor, which means that Batman pulled the old switch-a-roo and saved Gordon. However he knew the chair wouldn't kill him because he is made of clay and thus didn't break his one rule. What a guy.

You should do this a series on this, This was awesome love to see some more

An eye for an eye makes everyone PIRATES! and that's awesome.
Plus its not a painless death, the chemicals they use for capital punishment are extremely painful.
One of the podcasts, if I remember right. One of the newer ones, like 50 - 59.
Small tip for your inevitable first prison - Open up the ledger and accept ALL of the contracts. They basically act like an initial loan with expectations (and rewards) for completing them.
Dear Esther would do well in a Modern Art Museum.
On a marble plaque in front of the game would read:
"Breaking all preconceptions you have about video games."
"A piece dedicated to Total Biscuit, from Jesse."
"It's time for an exciting episode of..." is getting more incoherent every week. i love it xD
Surprisingly dark game for the cartoony artwork.
The first time I played this game I just knew one day Jesse would make a fan Friday out of it and here it is! Lol but like others said this would make for a hilarious series
Jesse you totally should do a playthrough of this! This game seems pretty cool!
I really didn't expect that from this game. Completely took me by surprise and loved it.
I've not watched Jesse for a bit, but this video reminded me why I love him :')
Please do at least another episode. This was just as entertaining as Game Dev Tycoon and I am loving these mini series (if you choose to make it one).
Jesse you made this tutorial hilarious, i say this should be a series.
Well I'm so happy that you were pumped full of these chemicals and know exactly how it feels so that you can tell us first hand that it's extremely painful.
Well I watched a couple others doing this Game for different reasons but Jesse's Voice acting downright wins.
Play more of this game. I would like to see it become a series
I just saw the first picture of this video and I thought Dwarf Fortress right off the bat. Hardcore game for real man. No graphics or skins or shit. Pure, raw digits.

you should make more of Prison Architect because it funny when you give the prisoner's voices
feels like a new serie right there! go Jesse!
Guard Party will appear on Jessie's EP: Guard Party
YES! Jesse, please make this a series!
Jesse is a voice actor. it's what he does.
It's also adds to the hilarity of his vids.
If you don't like it, don't watch.
I for one enjoyed it alot.
Jesse, This game is playthrough worthy. Very jesse-esque. Simple game, but you can use your voice-skills, which is the main reason I started watching your shit 3 years ago.
I'm excited to see more of this game, looks really interesting!
I know you asked Jesse, but bare in mind when it is full price it will be more expensive. My opinion on it would be get it when it is cheaper because that way when it releases, you already have it and you got it cheaper.
Dear God, every-time I hear the "Ding" sound when something in the game completes, all I can think is the auction house in WoW.
This basically is "Dungeon Keeper" in a new Setting. Awesome!
i would say it has more to do with the prison staff being identical to each other and the prisoners having either randomized appearances or customized ones by people that bought the game.
no no, i got ya, i think it might've been intentional. like, you see how cheery it is, so that when things go south its really noticable, or some kind of reason like that
I actually loved Jesse's voice acting and ad-libs this episode! :D ahaahaha
I never thought I would be sold on a game by the tutorial alone. MOAR!
I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out something I think would make the videos better in my (and others) opinion. If everyone just posts how amazing things are with 0 criticism, nothing will ever improve or change. They add stupidity, Jesse's speciality.
That's why we love him.
Would love to see a series of this please

Wow, this was one heavy episode. I don't know how much more of this I can take.
Does anyone know if there's a mod for this game that turns it into Superjail Architect?
My first big hit in Game Dev Tycoon was a Prison/Sim. I didn't think that was a real thing.
Soldiers in wars have taken lives. Some have taken even hundreds of lives. What do people call them? Heroes.
This is the kind of games i want Jesse to play, not more fps games.
I like how "for-another-exciting-episode-of" is now a two-syllable word.
Jesse, PLEASE play more of this!
Will always be an instant like simply because of that fan friday intro. Always makes my day. ^.^
My thoughts exactly. The Death penalty IS a brutal thing that should be avoided as much as possible, and being from Australia, where the penalty has already been abolished, I'm probably not the best person to consult on the issue. Thank you for being reasonable and open-minded, friend!
It's not the chair that kills you. It's the time you have to contemplate what you've done and what's coming (ie: The chair. Which kills you).
This should be a series
hearing him narrate the double murder made me want a series of jesse reading detective books.
PROBABLY one f the best fan fridays yyou should do a mini series like game dev tycoon
I wonder if there are a lot of story driven characters in the main game. would make it a lot more interesting then just an other build stuff sim.
Got to love the church scene from 20:00+. I wonder what the guy pretending to be Jesus gets from the church for being there like that.
It's an indie, the sell price will be between 20 and 30 $ at launch, you conserve your key after alpha. It's fair for what it is.
i think they said they would start it in 2 weeks time. don't quote me on that, but i'm excited
He said that he will be playing more of it in the near future, at the last Q&A :D
that was gonna be one of my arguments there is no turning back from an accident of that scale like you said you can take someone out of jail but you can't take someone out of heaven
a Fan Fr-aturday that is to be continued?!
Yes thank you!
Oh, I just realized what this game reminds me of: It's basically "Baby's First Dwarf Fortess"
There was an option that was added that involved changing your UA-cam screen name to your Gmail name, and choosing that option renamed you, but I am now picture less...
24 minutes isn't enough, like, at all for a game like this!
Jesse, have you played any of Introversion's previous games? if so, what did you think of them?
That is why it's called 'Prison' Architect. Not 'magical fun land of happiness' architect.
sjin from the yogscast hs been playing this for a few months without any problems. the only issue is when they make a new build you have to start over
"and the murder weapon was, this, your honor" "what does "SEES" stand for?" 12:18
JEsse, I'm preety sure that eveyr Fan Friday game that you choose, everyone shouts: "PLAY SERIES PLZ!". But that's your decision, however, you have my vote for that idea :)
That bit when they were eating made me laugh so hard. Thank you.
I think jesse should make a series on this he could make the videos during downtime on the channel or something
Maybe that's why there is a "To be Continue"? I don't know.
MOAR!!! Love this Jesse, glad this is To Be Continued!
Hey Jesse please do more of this i would love to see how you can do with a Prison
That's an impressively simplistic world view you have there.
As for needle sterizilation - you DO realize that contaminated needles could lead to painful and long death instead of standard otherwise fast way death penalty would work, right?
Jesse, please do a series with this!!!
Not his fault that the tutorial isn't very interesting. He did do a good job of keeping the video itself entertaining, and in the end, that's what counts.

The games does have black officers and white prisoners. There was even some in the prison Jesse was in. Like in 7:35, there was a diverse race of people in the cafeteria.
As soon as Jesse finished saying, "...the body's done" the CEO said, "Well done..."
