Damn, this brings back a lot of memories! I was there as a UCLA student, though this was probably my 2nd show with L7 (I've seen them 5-6 times), the first being at a LA high school gym. I remember a day later there was a writeup in the Daily Bruin (on which I was a staff columnist), and I clipped it (but alas no longer have it). I think I was half in love with Jennifer Finch back then😁, and had a chance to trade a few words with Donita Sparks a few years back when they had a public interview with her in SF (when she saw that I was wearing an OLD "Bricks Are Heavy" t-shirt--she was very cool as usual). Thank you for posting this.

Here I am watching "Femetal" as my writer friend called it, 30 years later. Over 30 years ago and they're using portable electonic tuners for the guitars...see, nothing has really changed all that much since then.
One cannot imagine what women in music were putting up with at this time. L7 never let any of that get to them (that I could tell). It was a really tough time for women and they excelled and kept to their aesthetic. They will be remembered for that.
Wym? full on "Riot Girl" movement I can think of a dozen or so women bands in the 90s off the top of my head that absolutely crushed it..wasn't a tough time..they were all highly respected not only with their fans but their peers as well in a thriving music scene...
Imagine a regular concert like this on UCLA these days... police would be called, protests all around for some "-ism" and half the kids having an emotional break down for some reason..

I love they play Just Like Me in 91 in UCLA. A big FU to the dying LA hair rock scene all around them. Awesome vid especially for the time.
Eu acho incrível o tanto que são boas!!! Ouço desde a adolescência e em outubro vou no show no Rio.
It was war in my country of Yugoslavia in 1991 and we where drinking beer and listen to L7.
