Hi Dan, Tnanks for the review. I've just purchased the 65" version for £499. That's an astonishing price when I think what my first 50" Samsung plasma cost back in 2006! 😳 However, please may I offer a small amount of contructive criticism?.. Although you covered all of the TV's many & varied features. You went through them so fast, I'll have to watch this video several times to take in all the info. Personally I could do without the overly long football & BBC news clip etc. And have you spend more time slowly going through the TV's features. Especially as any judgements made about the picture quality based on those clips is irrelevant. By that I mean the image quality your viewers see is totally dependent on the image quality delivered by their PC screen or phone screen etc. I can confirm that the picture quality of the TV is absolutely superb. Especially when viewing Blu-ray discs & HD catch-up channels . My only minor niggle is that the picture settings aren't a one size fits all scenario. i.e some content is best viewed in "Eco" mode, some in "Standard" & some in "Dynamic". But it's no big to switch between them. And to be honest, it's probably primarily down to the fact the TV is my new toy so I'm still fiddling with the settings. If I set the picture mode to "Standard" & leave it. I'm sure it'll be fine! 🤗
Thank you for this, going to help me set my new tv up tonight. There seems a big black border round the tv is that normal? My old Samsung the picture covered the whole tv, I won’t be able to live with that border lol,
between Samsung du8000 and lg tu80 can u give a recommendation? Btw I noticed the samsung du8000 is darker than the lg tu80 is it because of the camera ?
Thank you so much for your review video. There is a detailed QR code on the screen protector. Could you conveniently provide an image or the information from the QR code on the screen?
Great review.I have a DU8070 (includes satellite dish connection), It's a great TV but have been told by Samsung Tech support that this model will not record freesat or terrestrial! I'm still a bit dubious about this as it has a HDD port on the back, but I've had no luck recording!
What's the difference in price between the 8500 and the 8000, it seems like the only difference is the slab base attachment on the 8500 in which I can't seem to find it being sold here in the United States.
@@You-sw7tm Are you familiar with the law of diminishing returns? If you are, you'll appreciate exactly why these TV's are impossible to beat at their price point. I've just purchased the 65" DU8000 for under £500. The latest 8K version might have better picture quality. But is it honestly 4 times better? 🤔 My first 50" Samsung back in 2006 was way more expensive. The picture quality was nowhere near as great & it didn't have any of the internet based stuff that this one does. As with all technology, as the years go by we get way more for way less 😃 PS... Why were you bothering to looking at this video if you'd never consider such a "low end" TV? 🤔 Surely not just so that you could do a bit of trolling 🙄 😉

We just bought a DU8000 and am trying to figure out which HDMI ports to hook up our Dishnet receiver, DVD surround sound player and Fire stick too.

Great review Dan but don’t you think the picture is still too dark ? For the extra would the Samsung qled 60D be a lot brighter ? Cheers Mike
Anyone know how far apart the legs are? Wondering if it will fit my stand.
Thanks in advance.

hello mate : LG Vs Samsung - which is your pick?
Definitely LG!!! Samsung has gone downhill with their new TVs. Picture quality is bad right now. Colors and contrast are so bad with the DU8000's.
@@robinw3716 i got me LG G3

How TVs in other countries get two remotes?
Dan, you forgot to turn off noise reduction in the picture clarity setting menu…
I did, thank you for that
