Hi Ed, one of the trees I planted when first arriving in Renton, WA ( 2022) was emerald beauty plum. Only got 2 pieces of fruit this year, but they were yummy.
Well, 2 is a good start. When i first planted the Emerald Beaut in my house in Antioch Ca. I think i went 3 years before a few fruit. There after it jest set heavy every year. I had, burgundy, Santa Rosa and 4 Pluot Varieties as pollinators. So it wasn't pollinators
@@edwardlaivo8647 I didn't know if you caught on with my first comment. I'm up to my old tricks here. Have now planted 25 fruit trees up here...including 3 citrus and an avocado. My lemon made it through, in ground last year (with my winter protection...), so will use same technique this winter with 2 mandarins and avocado. I still like to push the limits....just to see if it can be done. I've been watching some of your videos.
@@helenerickson8455 Thanks Helen, if anyone can have success pushing the limits it would be you. Keep in touch and share your successes. You know I'm a fan.
Emerald beaut was my learning curve mistake. I planted it near Portland Oregon. Definitely will not ripen in our climate before fall rains come. Especially this year we had a very cool and rainy August. All my fruits are ripening 2-3 weeks late. I plan to graft the tree over to other plums next spring. Any must have trees I need for my climate? Thanks for all the great videos!
Wow, that's a drag Bryan. Are you South in the Willamette Valley? That can be a challenging area for some stone fruit. I would recommend the American hybrids if you haven't tried them. All great varieties. Superior, a #1 choice, Toka (Bubblegum Plum) #2 choice and them the Burbank Plum. let me know if you have tried them and what the results have been .
@EdAbleSolutions-qw9zb I've got a mix of fruit trees, 25 in ground so far with 6 potted figs I'm waiting to put in ground next spring. I run a CSA farm and I'm working towards adding a fruit add on option in the future. Plum wise I have burgundy, emerald beaut, candy heart pluerry, flavor grenade pluot all 3rd year in ground. Candy Heart bloomed but didn't set fruit. Burgundy bloomed and I got 18 delicious fruit! Flavor Grenade bloomed, got hit by late frost but I still got 20 blow my mind fruit! This year I planted Italian prune, frost peach, leahcot, Peugeot gold apricot and a nectarine I can't remember off the top of my head. I also have Apples, asian pear and Euro pears.
I think I did, you might check on my Playlist for 'For Your Consideration Splash and Emerald Drop Pluot' it in the Interspecific section. If you have any other questions let me know
Don't Disagree John, really that is why in most of these videos i have people who have never had some of these fruits. It's great to get their first impressions. In my experience there are many who don't like fruits that are too acidic, why shouldn't the opposite be valid. I am sampling some prune varieties that i have not done videos on. The Brix on some of these are in the low to mid 30's. Too sweet for me. So this is all based on opinion and I truly appreciate yours as well
I'm so excited, I order a emerald beaut to plant next season
I just went today and Picked again. I am going to do another Brix test and see if the sugar is higher this week since last week

@@BryanRezendez Thanks Bryan, it appears to me that you are a contributor yourself.... Good Job
you should do another side by side in a month
can you do the Emerald Drop Pluot too?
i have these but still too young to produce

I Tink I will do another Brix review on the Emerald Beaut in a month, but i am sure that the Elephant heart will not last that long
Honestly I don't see how you can make such generalizations from such a limited sampling. It's a little misleading.
