Hi Tim, another superb video. I really like the way that you capture the whole atmosphere of the station in your videos. Thank you for leaving a comment about the Oil Train at Floriston & Quintinshill in my ‘shorts feed’. For some reason the system would not allow me to post a reply. The train usually leaves Dalston around 8.30am on a Thursday before heading to Carlisle and onto the WCML so it is an early start to film it!. Many thanks for all your wonderful videos, they are always a must-watch. Best Wishes, Stephen.
Thank you for your kind comments Stephen - I do try to capture something of the station as well as the locomotives and trains. There's a lot of history and character at the Citadel and it would be a shame not to record it. Best wishes.
I remember travelling on an SRPS Railtours steam hauled train on the S&C and it was so wild, the rain came in one sliding window and straight the other sides sliding window… no kidding 🏴
I was going to say one good thing about the strike is you got good views with no people getting in the way, then it happened and they were not even bothered about seeing the train Grrr. I hope someone passes on the message about your cap. I did not check up the times due to the strike but was thinking I could of possibly got a train from here to Newcastle then on to York, so be able to see Sir Nigel Gresley as well. Instead I was unable to get out and spent a bit of time in my jungle cutting back some brambles. It was really blowing my trees about.
I did see the station superviser before heading home. A member of staff authorised to access the track was sent for but maintained that nothing could be done until the stock was removed from the platform. I can but wait and hope! Bet my jungle's worse than yours!
@@schoolshorts Pitty the train was in the way or you would of got your hat back right away. LOL I will have to show you to compare them. It used to be beautiful when Mum had it but got out of hand, and now lots of brambles which I have to keep cutting back. It is 60ft x 70ft so was too much for me to keep up to.
Hi, Tim, I take it you will be going down to Carlisle tomorrow to see the two steam tours! But did you know that the new footbridge is going to be installed tomorrow at Dumfries!?
@schoolshorts I'll be at Dumfries to see the bridge getting installed, and I'll also see the tanker train running! I'm hoping to be at the station most of the day! I might see you in the morning if you're going to Carlisle!
Another lovely video Tim well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam best wishes Philip
At least you can get to carlisle Tim, Nice smooth panning with your new tripod, shame you lost your hat in the wind, looks quiet at the Citadel, is tangmere loosing its appeal ???, cheers Steve .
I've never been a fan of the spam-cans although I love the rebuilds. Some of their crews are not too keen on them either. Will leave it till Monday to take a trip to Carlisle to see if my hat has survived.

I recognise the staff member walk towards the camera at 2:09. She used to work for Greater Anglia at Witham Station and at Chelmsford Station as well.
- - a long way from home then!

Up on the fells I can well believe it.
Shame about your cap - lovely shot of Tangmere rolling into the station though! Love that clanking ahe does.
Not my favourite loco but, sadly, one we're going to see a lot of until WCR get their door problems sorted.
Best wishes.
I’m on Platform Three and I saw you blowing hat away and landing on trackside in Platform Five.
YOU’RE BEEN FRAMED!
Thank you Harry. Fortunately I got the hat back again on Monday - it was still lying on the track where it had landed!

Good filming despite the gales. Scotrail only seem to care about there passenger's by looks of it. Hope you get your hat back.
Thanks David. Heading to Carlisle tomorrow - in hopes of retrieving my hat - travelling by ScotRail of course, so I'll probably get there!
Hi, Tim, I take it you will be going down to Carlisle tomorrow to see the two steam tours! But did you know that the new footbridge is going to be installed tomorrow at Dumfries!?
a). Yes
b) No
Thanks for the info - alas, I can only be in one place at a time - especially since I'm without a car at present. Where will you be?
@schoolshorts I'll be at Dumfries to see the bridge getting installed, and I'll also see the tanker train running! I'm hoping to be at the station most of the day! I might see you in the morning if you're going to Carlisle!
I'll be on the 9 a.m. train - the only one I can manage without a car.
@@schoolshorts ahh great I'll see you there!

Thank you Philip.
Good one Tim. I'll guarantee your hat will still be there on your next sojourn to Carlisle 😅 cheers Euan
Thanks Euan - wish I felt as confident!
- - but you were right - the hat was retrieved on Monday, still lying on the track where it had landed!
Glad you got it back 😊@@schoolshorts
Good video. It's a shame you lost your hat. 😢
Thanks James - I'm hoping to get it back today, provided that a departing train hasn't run it over and cut it in two.
yea, did you get it back yet!?@@schoolshorts
@@jimmystransportmarvels8815 Yes - at midday today - still lying on the track bed where it landed on Saturday - quite undamaged.
I have always wondered why British locomotives don’t have large headlights and ditch lights like North American locomotives?
We could similarly ask why DO North American locos have such accessories.

They would be better putting a poster up saying trans-pennine ‘is’ running today than not… on their record 🏴
Quite. Personally I would refer to it as a day of industrial inaction.
❤🤍💚
Thank you.
