- Staged by the Awudome Senior High School cultural group at the launching of the 50th Anniversary of the school. Performances of three dances--(1) Borborbor, (2) Awusa, (3) Sauma--are led by master drummer and dancer Kofi Avi. This is the first part of a two video series; see part 2 at • Awudome Cultural Group... . (Awudome Senior High School, PO Box 33, Tsito, Volta Region, Ghana)
Borborbor is a recreational dance of the Ewe people in Ghana's Volta Region, blending traditional percussion rhythms with Christian themes and harmonies in the singing. Borborbor is often played at celebrations and funerals.
Awusa is performed by the Hausa people of northern Ghana, most of whom are Muslims. It is used to entertain at durbars and other festive occasions. Awusa is a royal dance and is depicted by the performers' dress while dancing.
Solma is a social dance performed by the people of the Northern territories of Ghana, especially by the Mossi. It is a very old dance that is performed during festivals.
Well done my beloved brothers and sisters from Awudome . I am enjoying your Bobobo dance from Lagos Nigeria . Keep up the great work and keep doing your best , Am from SOKODE but lives in Lagos .
The trumpeter is an award-winner. In fact, they are all deserving of priceless commendation.

I didn't get to see any cultural Ewe dance while I was in Ghana. This is great to see. I want to learn more about the Ewe speaking people. Unfortunately. I mostly get exposed to the Akan culture and I've been to Ghana twice.
Unfortunately, Ewes too have rich and sophisticated culture and tradition
great culture ewe people from Togo und Ghana.

@Cindy Apeah What were you trying to say? Please come clearly.
@Cindy Apeah You mean natural talent requires no honing of skills? It takes a lot of hours of practice to be great at your talent.
@Cindy Apeah Tell us Cindy: What have you been great at, without practice?
Congratulation to dancers, dramers, trampperter n singers they did well
To all who put their finger down; I tell you that you are idiots; and you do not know the EWE people. We are proud of ourselves. Thank you for the group.

I am ewe descent through my great grand father.
I am from the Gokana tribe in Nigeria and according to history we are from Ghana, the Volta region. But I want to do my DNA text before I visit. According to history the people of Volta region of Ghana migrated by sea to settle in Khana. Gokana is derived from Khana which was originally Ghana

Wouaw bravo j'ai adoré. les filles dansent très bien, bien organisés zéro faute
Its sad to say we in the diaspora have lost our tradition thought no faults of our own.
We have intentionally enslaved ourselves to money-making. The earlier we return home, the better for us all.

You should not have a problem visiting this school. It is located in the Volta Region of Ghana in a town called Tsito - Awudome. To get there, you take a bus from Accra to Ho ( the capital of the Volta Region) and alight at Tsito Awudome. The school is off the main road from Accra to Ho. I am an American of Ghanaian descent. You can email me if you have any other questions. My email address is my username at gmail.
nutephe u are right,good direction.

Awudome is in Western Togoland. dancing & singing in Êʋêo .at llease the title should be Awudomr-Êʋê of Westeen Togoland. These peoples not patriotic at all. How could we know true Êʋêo for eventual project.? Now or never! and being swallowed up by others. Yea praising Most High with all their power.
Parfait but not excellent bcs too much leg opened and bum-body movement. This dance could be shown cases with finest and elegance without too much endurance. Bravo for lady on trumpet and players .yea true spirit of Êʋê.
