If you know Taiji then you know this is a genuine master. Very rare. The student is skilled and the responses in his body, the whiplash movements of his head in response to masters Jin is powerful evidence of internal power application. An gem of a video. Thank You.
He has a very good stance and structure. I can see it would be easy for him to exert a lot of power but he’s happy just to play and have fun. Beautiful to observe this treasure. 🙏
Amazing how these gentle soft flowing movements can be so deadly when properly applied. The breathing and composure of the Sifu was beautiful to watch. Thank you sir for posting.
Very nice exchange with you and your Master. He seems like a very giving, joyful and highly skilled Tai Ji Player. Well done sir. Blessings on the path. Thanks for posting
Wow... I've analyzed thousands of hours of video and know that guy getting thrown around is far from a beginner. This is amazing level of sensitivity and timing. Just wow 👏 😳 👏
I did thai chi when i was younger and the one thing i remember more than anything else was being incredibly healthy. Literally without any injury and illness for two years. My teacher moved back to china and i just stopped. Everything came back, all the normal sickness and injury that i had before i started learning. It is a beautiful art with amazing benefits that i will never truly understand . But it really works.
A lot of the early students in my Tai Chi class came out of competition Judo. They felt that Tai Chi enhanced their Judo fighting skill. This was in the 1970's. In the 1990'sone Olympic level Judo player found a Tai Chi master in Vancouver that he could not throw. So he stayed and studied Tai Chi for a few years. The first master Raymond Chung learned from Yang Cheng Fu's oldest son who was a fighter.
I'd like to know the parameters or conditions of "not being able to throw". In full free randori ,a tai chi master would be thrown dozens of times be it Judo or Olympic wrestling. The claim that an Olympic Judo competitor could not throw a Tai Chi master is just absolutely silly unless the Judoka was being very respectful as many are, or it was just soft training, or it was some type of drill. I played Judo in the 1990s so I would probably know of the Judoka. Over the decades I heard the claim for many styles of Kung Fu, etc. where a combat athlete could not do something or another to some skinny master. In every case, it was just a drill, or just great respect, or just false.
@@taichigoodness1798 Yes Hope to catch up with you one day. He spoke with his eyes and technique. He was letting me feel whenever he would let me repeat moves. He countered everything before it got off the launching pad like many other Real Tai Chi Masters I met and studied with. What was amazing was Our age difference and him handling me effortlessly with the 21 years Martial Arts Training I had in at that time. I'm in 45 years now and still run into some extraordinary Elders now and then. He is surely missed. I will try to find some old footage I have and put up soon. Thanks again.
@@SifuRudyuniversalkungfu I have nothing but great respect for you, and I appreciate you keeping it real! Thank you for your contribution and dedication towards the art, there are not many old school practitioner as dedicated as you anymore for the least to say, and that's the exact reason of you being a great teacher as well!
@-Cale Well, the whole point of internal martial arts is to keep the practitioner healthy. The fighting part is just a bonus. I personally believe Wing Chun was meant to be an internal art. Two women created Wing Chun. The art was named after the first student by her master. Wing Chun taught her husband the art, and then he taught other men. That's where knowledge got lost in translation. Anyway, I read that external exercise may harm internal exercise gains. PS there standing meditation teachers all over UA-cam. Watch several because everyone has slight versions. Yet, the main thing is to keep your tongue connected to the roof of your mouth while standing. It's like connecting a battery to the positive post. Your feet on the ground are connecting the negative post. You don't have to stand in front of a tree. Yet, the energy from a tree can help one's progress.
Do I detect a hint of sarcasm in your comments😱😱I never believed in tai chi and until I trained with Peter Glenn ( harmony martial arts) and was thrown around like a rag doll!!
Hey, just stumbled across this video. Are you the student in the video? Great to see! I’ve started practicing Taiji myself for just over a year now. Where was this film please? 🙏🏻
This was filmed in Kissena Park in Flushing, NY. I am honored to be one of Late Master Zhang's last disciples, and I miss him a lot! Yes. 20 years ago. I spent a few years pushing with him every weekend 2 to 3 hours non stop some weeks. Amazing small man took on all comers. He was in his mid 70'sat the time.
Like 'Sticking Hands', 'Pushing Hands' is a Tai Chi and Shaolin training method. Whilst it is useful in martial arts training and certain martial applications, it should in no way be considered a martial defence style in and of itself. A half decent fighter or a natural athlete would kick your butt if you brought only this to the table.

You are very welcome! Obviously, you have the eye for it, and I believe that you're a genuine martial artist yourself!
@taichigoodness1798 can you tell me who's still alive that trained at Kissena Park? My teacher trained there.
A priceless archive of real skill and ability to share and transmit the beauty of Tai Chi through Tui Shou training.

Very good balance, yi, xhi, tructure body,.... Softy intelligent moviments!
Thank you, and lots of respect to a person who has the awareness to see what others can't see!
The main exercise to develop internal strength is standing meditation. The moving exercises means nothing without the standing still.

The only footage of Fu Zhongwen that i have come across was just the very most basic exercises. What is on here is much much more than that

Push hands is more like a game than a martial art. Don’t use this, it will not protect you.
If that is true than sanda, kickbox, and boxing are not martial arts.Balancr is martial art.
