We'll see. The other issue I find is that it's not very creative. What I mean is, is generates pretty much the same image whether I prompt it or someone else prompts it. You can pretty much tell an ai generated image. I'm not sure why that is. It's almost like it references the same easily found images
Panning is going to be huge for people who want to generate scrolling backgrounds for animations. I've had to pull some tricks of the trade for scrolls previously, but now you can just "pan some more" to sync up your walk speed if you run out of background. Brilliant. Thanks for the suggestions! Lots of new stuff to try!
I agree! I was going to put a bit in there about how those old He-Man animators are probably shaking their heads right now and yelling “where was this when I was working?!!!”
Thank you, Chris!! It's been a pretty crazy ride! I gotta stop by the Discord again soon. It's been fun sneaking in my beats as background music, but I really want to get back to you guys for some inspiration and production tips! Oh, I see you got the microcosm!! The best Ambient Machine ever! Hope things are well, and I'll swing by soon!
such clarity in your overviews Tim, you should be Midjourney's official tour guide, great work. I would love to see a layers feature, that has say upto 4 layers, in which you select and prompt each layer individually , as part of an overall composition, giving one more scope to sculpt the scenario with more detail, ie depth of field, scene morphing, ,different styles per layer
If you have AppleTV (they have free trial months all over the place if not) it’s worth a watch! Despite the sci-fi trappings, it’s really a small town murder mystery. Oh, and I think I’ve got some Hitchcock related examples coming up soon too!
Thanks for the video, I'm experimenting with panning and zoom, and it sometimes gives great results, but often weirdness 😅 which can be cool too. I'd like a way to ceate consistency in not only characters but also for environments, like a room in a house that is setting for a scene that changes
So, I've been saying this for a bit-- I think that's coming. MJ has indicated one of their "in development" projects is "Storytelling"-- not "Consistent Characters"-- but Storytelling. I think that's going to incorporate a suite of tools that will cover Characters, Locations, and Emotions. Or, that might be me projecting my wishlist?
Love how quick Midjourney are adding features. Exciting time to exist in this space. Great video! And thanks for suggesting Silo, this seems very much like Snowpiercer but with a twist of it being an underground silo instead of a train. Gonna give it a watch tonight!
It’s really good! I’ll have to check back in on Snowpiecer. Loved the movie, but only got around to one or two episodes of the show. Silo has a really interesting hook, in that it’s got all the dystopian sci-fi stuff, but it’s really a small-town murder mystery.
@@TheoreticallyMedia The show Snowpiercer takes a bit to get into and the show does a pretty bad job of articulating the actual size of the train. Hyped to start Silo now, sci-fi is my shit. #SaveTheExpanse
@@SirQuantization LOVED The Expanse!! I hate that every time I suggest it to someone, I gotta do the whole, “no the Beastie Boys song is a total fluke in the first episode. And the second episode is kinda trash…but please stick with it!”
Another great video. TY. I think the Holy Grail for AI gen art is the ability to create consistent characters and place them in consistent environments with a variety of expressions and posses. This will progress MJ from a "pretty picture factory" to a serious story telling portal.
I love it. Gave you made a video on how to record the zoom out, as it will look like a quick video. Example: the last image you shown in this video with using “weird”. Thank you 🙏🏾
Awesome videos, man! Midjourney seems really cool, and I am thinking of diving into it myself here soon. Also, I have a question (that's not related to this particular video but is related to journey) is midjourney able to generate "concept art" style? I am a 3d artist and when we want to do some 3d modeling in blender or 3d software usually a concept artist creates full on 2d renders of like let's say weapon like a gun or something for a video game with different views such as side, back, front and a full rendered 3rd quarter view. Basically, it is called a model sheet. Or really just a concept art piece showcasing the object or character in various views with perfect proportions thst is then used as a reference guide for 3d modeling. Is midjourney able to do something like that? If I wanted a concept art for a sci fi futuristic pulse sidearm pistol, what would a prompt for something like this look like?
So, yup, so can! I’ll have to dig it up, but I just helped out someone with that. I think it’d be something like “Concept Art, (item), turnaround” The thing that might get you though, is that MJ isn’t consistent (yet), so once you roll something up there is little chance you’ll get the exact thing again. You’ll get things LIKE it, but not exact. That should be fine for your purposes, but if you design say a BFG that you like, and then try to arm DoomGuy with it, you won’t generate an image with that exact BFG. So it is great for initial concept designs and iterating on ideas, but from you’ll need to put in the elbow grease. Hop in, though! As an artist, you’re going to have HOURS of fun!
@TheoreticallyMedia my biggest concern is that I am scared that AI will replace me when you can generate 3d models from text... ;( thanks for reply btw !
i hope the next feature added will be - fix hands - and- fix legs
Soon enough probably lol

Great watch! Got some fun ideas from this thanks Tim!
Great to hear!! I know panning isn’t the coolest of all the new features, but I do think it’s going to turn out to be a hidden gem at some point!
I don't know Silo, but it reminds me of Rear Window! Thanks for the speedy review, Tim. Looks useful.

Is there a way to limit the amount of pan, similar to the custom zoom. If not, I would find that helpful
Doesn’t seem to yet. I agree that would be useful!

I hoping for a Midjourney depth map feature.
Oh, that would be sweet!
Oh just wait till we get proper lettering in v6.2!
that'll be so great! I've seen some SD models that were doing proper text, but overall the image quality wasn't very good.
What I want is text to 3d
That would be such a game changer. I know it is being worked on by a few other AI companies, but it would be nice to see the MJ touch on it!
nice
Thank you!!
Imagine when you can pan in 3 dimensions, left right, up down, in and out, and even rotate! Real-time AI generated reality is coming!
I can see it coming for sure. I think something like generating a scene and then “walking” around it in AR to compose your shot. Crazy times!
That's clueless people saying "Andoria" (AndoRRa) , some say HertzegovANIa etc. But that's OK. 0:35
