Thank you for reacting on this. I really liked your insight. Btw the other person the bright white horse shown on the video(face not shown) 8:58 is not Menelik II, It is "Giyorgis" means Saint George. Many Ethiopians including me believe Saint George assisted Ethiopian force in the battle of Adwa Menelik II even took the "Tabot" (shown on 9:02 under umbrella) of Saint George church (Is in Addis in front of Menelik II on a horse statue) with him to the Battle. At last I don't know if u saw that but Ethiopians after the war End they were helping wounded Italian soldiers 12:38. This shows how Ethiopians are very caring even for their Invaders.
Asante sana Dawit for the comments. I really didnt know about Giyorgis and the belief that he had assisted during battle. And ofc they cared for the wounded troops its how African culture generally dictates we should be. Again asante sana Dawit! and thanks for the corrections.
New ethiopia song by Teddy Afro "Tikur Sew" in 2012. Black Man, Battle of Adwa Music called (Emperor Menelik) and Queen Taitu, Haile Slassie. Menelik || Italians "Giyorgis" means Saint George from Amharic. "Tabot" guys Addis Ababa. Dägamawi Menelik history on August 17 1884 and 12 December 1914 and Negus my Bewditu Europe wall and war horse Thank you for reacting guys.
Ma men come on I loved ur reaction so much , u do have a good thing about contextualization and am so impressed about how much u know about Ethiopian history and africa as a whole. Tikur sew means black man means u HV z right to say we it's not only our (ethiopians) history it's us africans too. U r a cool dude bro tnx. And one thing to add , the rastefarians use the flag because as u mentioned cuz of z victory and they think ethiopia is the blessed land whom king haliselase is God. ras teferi is his name before being crowned and got the name changed, he is Ethiopian king after menelik. ✌🏾 Subescribed😃

Dear mmaingii, i really appreciate your insight and thank you for bring this legend Ethiopian music. and one thing i want to add is , the man you see on the white horse is Saint George, he was sent for us from our Lord to defeat the ADWA Battle.
Hi I am coming back to your comment section I was watching live discussion on Pan African site and they had a panel of Guest who created the Fidel or Geeze letters on Doc Series he is called Dr Aberra Molla in the interview he said African should try to use African scriptures to write in their native languages. I salute your effort for trying to use *Fidel* alphabet..🟢🟡🟠
Absolutely Reita, if it were actually up to me Swahili would also use fidel but a slightly modified version to fit in with some of the pronunciations. Will keep learning Amharic and fidel so that Im a pro in a few years
@@mmaingii off course there should be amendments to the fidels, I am sending a behind the scene of Tikur sew video instagram.com/p/CL4AHLanukj/?igshid=1x9nbdal1cv8y Asant and keep well!!
@@mmaingii ok minilik told the people before adwa "please ethiopian come b/c we should defend our country and all peoples healthy and with no problem should attend in the war." a promised to the people if a health and person with no problem will not attend the war there is a very large panishment. So this is why all attend and only some d/t but the most were there so it can be said by all ethiopians. The other people who don't respect the law get his punishment
It is also important to note that it is too simplistic to think people marched to the war for fear of punishment. They could have gone in hiding. And the different local leaders could have boycotted the war. But in spite of any differences or grievances they had internally, they answered the call from the King. The people who marched were actually convinced of the cause, hence their passion to defeat the Invaders and hence the victory. People not convinced about the cause and who are marching out of fear wouldn't have that much passion and, unmotivated army wouldn't be victorious.
