As a teen I founded myself many times in awe watching this guy saving all kinds of shots, he was just incredible. To me he is the best goal keeper I've seen.

Easily one of the most underrated keepers of all time. Agility-wise, he was second to none. Brilliant goalkeeper and Bologna legend. Zoff, Buffon, Pagluica, Toldo and Zenger are in my top 5, even if I feel Rossi was unfairly overlooked.
What about Angelo Peruzzi ? Peruzzi was actually the 1st option for Italy at WC 98. Unfortunately, he was injured, so the 1st choice had to be handed to Pagliuca.

Saved a penalty as well.also 1998 lost in tiebreaker with France bad luck!!! In some cases better than Buffoon. 1996 Buffon could not save any penalty in Final although performance was good...... Pagliuga was the only Italian goalkeeper that I appreciate for his talent, they called Walter Zenga Rooster 🐓 but the real Rooster 🐓 was Pagliuga, Zenga was a lucky goalkeeper but Pagliuga was very confident zero stress no matter the team that that he's facing. I really like him.
I grew up watching the italian walls Pagliuca, Peruzzi, Toldo, Marchegiani and Buffon. Old school Calcio when it was the strongest league in the world, good times. Media used to say Peruzzi was the best of all, but not for me. Toldo, Pagliuca and Buffon were better than Angelo.
statistics says pagliuca > peruzzi. also fifa put pagliuca in a better ranking than peruzzi on 1987-2011 best goalkeepers list and "the guardian " has choice pagliuca as gk in his best 90s italian Team. pagliuca had much more match played in the italian championship and world cups with Italy team than peruzzi.

@@lexsoft3969 peruzzi was a good shot stopper! Certainly a good keeper too! But pagluica was more agile, more of a leader and more flexible!

Yes. Very underrated. I prefer him than Buffon. A much better shot stopper, and had the character. Buffon had Nesta and Cannavaro helping him out.
