If you want the crunchy texture of the last recipe without the ridiculousness of the batter/ramen/having to fry it, I HIGHLY recommend golden gate grilled cheese. You make it just like a regular grilled cheese, but coat the outside of the bread with parmesan after you butter it. It's absolutely heavenly.

Those edible crystals (kohakutou) were a RIP OFF! I swear a few years ago I made my own batch of edible crystals (many more than Naomi bought) for only like 5 dollars. It’s literally sugar, water and agar agar. The only difference with the packaged ones is probably the artificial flavouring and the food colouring (flavouring is optional and colouring is unnecessary), and still if you add both it shouldn’t make it as pricy as it is!! Much easier and cheaper to make your own!!

I will say as someone who also bought from that same company Naomi did, it’s 100% not worth it imo. It’s a cool experience, but not worth wasting money on. I expected the flavors to be much better and was highly disappointed with how much it just tasted like sugar and agar agar.

We add more spices like chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, etc to make it more flavour full. It is paired with bread and even stuffed in parathas. You should try the Indian recipe, I'm sure you'll dig it. Edit: Apologies for using paneer and tofu interchangeably. I'm aware they are both different and didn't realise the typo at my end until I noticed the comments. Paneer is made with cow milk whereas Tofu of Soybean milk, and are both different inspite of their similar texture. I've tried both and they taste absolutely delicious.

Kala Namak has sulfur (Schwefel) in it which creates the "eggy" taste. It's really crazy and I would've never guessed that a food's smell or taste can be replicated with just one basic chemical substance.

That being because micellium spreads from spores and humidity and it starts from the inside of the molding object, the mold you can see is basically the mushroom that the micellium is producing, so that directly means that if you eat the part thats "not molding" youre eating micellium anyway and thats not that good for your health. The crystal candies are actually a popular japanese dessert called kohakuto. Its made with agar agar + lots of sugar and flavoring. The outer crunch is due to the dried out agar agar and crystalized sugar from being left out to dry. They aren’t supposed to mold as long as its been properly sealed air tight. So it might be a packaging issue or their candies weren’t dried properly.
I could live on scrambled tofu. I love it with broccoli chopped up teeny tiny and at the end I drizzle on maple syrup and fennel seed and kinda scorch it. Tastes like sausage and eggs together!

That scrambled tofu reminds me of "Paneer Bhurji" an Indian dish which is made of scrambled cottage chese with veggies and seasoning, it looks exactly like that, and it tastes amazing, the non vegetarian version is "Anda Bhurji" which follows the same recipe but with eggs
it's always so frustrating to me when I see people that have never tried pasta without any sauce and question it. The jewel candy(Kohakutou) is good at room temp for about 2 weeks, in an air tight container in a cool area up to 4 weeks but it WILL get hard! Maybe it grew mold because it was stored at room temp for too long??

The crystal candy could still grow mould if the humidity and heat was high. The gold leaf might be imitation gold leaf and therefore oxidised on/ in the crystal candy. And as others said, the Himalayan black salt contains sulphur compounds, hence the eggy smell. ❤️🥦

Ooh! The actual name for those edible crystals is kohakutou, and there are some legit recipes online for them. My favorite video on them is by a channel called EmmyMade
The jewel candy(Kohakutou) is good at room temp for about 2 weeks, in an air tight container in a cool area up to 4 weeks but it WILL get hard! Maybe it grew mold because it was stored at room temp for too long??
