@@jwithington9347 I dunno if you can appreciate this (it's anathema to modernity's obsession with comfort) but feeling Pain is really one of the most amazing and life affirming phenomenons. Nature, Life, has a lot of necessary hard and sharp bits (thorns and claws and scales, etc.) so naturally the harder we press against Life, the more engaged we are with (I say "Her"), then the more we run into her spines and edges... I think we are supposed to appreciate Pain in some way that is alien to modern philosophy... I don't know how, but I am trying to embrace pain instead of recoil mindlessly from what hurts me... If I'm right, that Nature is a primordial dragon like all the myths say, then She can't simply stop having horns and sharp scales... So maybe something changes when we choose to lean in to our embrace of Life, to give Her a big old hug instead of recoil from all her hard parts... I like the cartoon image of hugging "the dragon" instead. Maybe She'll like it and "smile on me" somehow. But even if it doesn't suddenly get easy, thing is at the most basic, phenomenal level, this Universe is our Mother. She has given us everything. Everything in the universe. She at least deserves a hug. Even if She us an unfathomable cosmic dragon who tears us apart every second we are in contact with Her. That's the sorta thing we can't change. Maybe it's not supposed to hurt? Point is, life's a bitch. So let's f*ck her with all we've got. She can take the pounding, so don't hold back.

It was your only way to not get torn open by a fast coming dragon horn? Or crushed and smothered in a sudden twist of a universe sized body? Could we be getting Pruned and Sculpted by these "pains" and "defeats" and traumas, by the same master artisan who carves insects and galaxies alike, who signs Her work with Phi spirals? What if we aren't being damaged at all, in a cosmic scope, but crafted into something as perfect and as beautiful as our solar system or flame... Could be wrong, but it helps to look at what things would mean if the Universe only operated in our best interest...to balance out our tendency to judge the universe's motions as unconscious and indifferent to anything, or slightly tuned to give us ,specifically, sh*t... Only delusional dipshits claim the universe is all love and promise. We can't know that. But only delusional dipshits claim to know that is is a hellscape of endless "punishment", or that it is a mindlessly (or "purposelessly") careening Nothingness (in the strange shape if Something). Somewhere in between those things, we'll probably find Understanding. Wisdom probably waits there. Suspended from the tree that connects all things. One eye in the Unknown and one eye fixed always on Us. Waiting serenely for us to stumble our baby-like selves out of the nursery and into His presence. It could be us changing shape to be less squishy, less in conflict with our Reality...and closer to harmony with the Universe itself (which is a FAR superior source of values than the flimsy, shifting "social standards" we prefer to base our lives around...) (That might have something to do with why life hits us so painfully in the first place...we can tell the form society pressures us into is stupid and distorted, but we keep trying.
