I could only afford a 50 centavo coin stabbed by global, but I have something from that wreck at a cost of about $200. It looks good too. I'd love to have a coin like yours. Gorgeous!!
Good day very nice coin Ben I'm geeking out for that one. A lot of history in your hands where the gold started from and where it ended up what a journey. I have a coin from the legendary SS minnow lol . Have a good day 🦗🦗🦗
Hey Ben, got one of those in MS64. SSCA 3031, 20a Spiked Shield. Hard to believe it was at the bottom of the ocean for a nearly 150 years and it's still stunning to look at. We often wish that coins could talk, but these really can tell a story. I watched the recovery of the wreck on UA-cam and I hold this coin in my hand and come to the realization that it was in that pile somewhere.. perhaps it's the one the rov is holding in the video.🤯 Thanks for taking the time to make a video these amazing coins.
Hello , i’m in the process of pulling the trigger on an MS 64 old foil. I’m from the Bay Area and after reading your comment, it’s exactly what I was thinking. So tell me what I wanna hear and tell me it’s a great investment 5-10 plus years !
Just imagine if you are a collector who owned this coin before they found a bizillion of them on a ship. Prior to that find this was a really rare date & mint & quite valuable. This happened to me in '62. I found several BU 1884o & 1904o's in several rolls. These were worth $300-$600 ea! I was 13 so I took them to show my LCS. He told me they found something like a million of each and released them to the banks. I was so sad!
I was wondering how any of those coins could be AU when none of them were ever put in circulation. I know if it was my coin I'd have to have a problem with that.
I was at the long beach coin show, many years ago when they had just come up for sale. What a site to see. Plus, I was at this last June coin show when they had them on display again. One day I will get around to buying one.
I highly recommend the book about the tragic story of the ship and its passengers and the incredible story of the visionary man who recovered the gold: Ship of Gold.
Im in the process of pulling the trigger on this coin . Also MS64 with gold foil . Is it a good investment for the next 10-15 years? Probably will give it to my daughter . Thoughts? I’m from the Bay Area so love the story too.
Crazy to think how those side-wheeled steamers faired well hugging the coastlines for years. Most of the time I picture paddle boat steamers as river boats only. Thanks for the video!

I'd love to own one of those, unfortunately I know I never will. Thanks for sharing that one with us!
Harper's Ferry made me laugh out loud.
You had me at "gold".
Cool coin, very crazy backstory, looks undergraded!
Don’t believe those coins ever circulated, but they did survive a shipwreck and 100+ years in the ocean.
Yeah-
What have I done with my life 🤷
Hi, Ben. My heart "SANK" when I saw the price of those Central America Shipwreck coins.

Was gonna say no CAC???!!!!🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
It’s headed there-
The coin looks MUCH nicer than a 58….
I'm glad gravity is still in effect. 🙂
That luster though! Thanks, Ben!
I love singling out a coin and discussing it. Thank you!
Awesome ! I also like single coin videos - tune in all week 😉
Add that to the list of coins I didn't know I couldn't live without but now do...
😂
Beautiful coin. Fascinating history. Interesting packaging. 👍

The other amazing thing about them is that they aren’t all graded Genuine-Details given the EXTENSIVE cleaning/restoration process.

I don’t like good modern boats let alone those!
Watching this video is really impressive dear friend.
NOT FIRST... *AGAIN!*
