Meme Konchok Wangpo, popularly known as Meme Samphel was from Fomsapa household of Skurbuchan.He was an incarnate Lama and a great Yogi. He built more than 100 Lha-khangs and Chotkhangs, including Skurbuchan Lha-khang, in the area and was instrumental in bringing the Aryan villages in the Buddhist fold. He was a great practitioner. Tradition says that he had floated himself in the air during a meditation.
Zangzang Ri is a hillock range in the upper part of Skurbuchan Nala. A hermitage was built for him there for his meditation.
He was a contemporary of the 2nd Bakula Rangdol Nima ( born in the Gongma-styangspa household of Skindyang village) and he had identified the 3rd Bakula Rangdol Nima at Phey- Rantaksha in Zanskar.
This song was composed by a blind devotee ( follower) of Skyurbuchan around Dogra attack of 1834 AD ( a guess!!). It is a popular song of Skurbuchan village.
