It's such a beautiful ceremony! I became emotional when I saw the new priest blessing his parents and his mother kissing her son's hands! What a beautiful day this must be for both the new priest and his parents!!! Unfortunately what ruined it for me was the applause. I find applauding in a church SO disrespectful towards God! It's NOT a show where you applaud afterwards. It's a religious ceremony. Applause should be made at the reception afterwards, not inside the walls of a church.
Please stop placing the holy host into unconsecrated hands. It kills me to see this, and I was guilty of it when newly baptized, but now accept our Lord upon the tongue. My hands aren't worthy to touch His Holiness.
