@deknaj ever since seeing mary cadorette on three's company i fell in love with her an d so watched her during three's a crowd, and the game shows and i'm glad her career continued on in movies, even remember her resturant. she was also miss connecticut 1975 her hometown! beautiful lady!
love this show I was huge John Ritter fan & of course Three's Company. Loved Vicki Bradford as well her & Jack where so in love and very happy together despite of course Vicki's father just hating Jacks guts.... It's shame this got canceled after just one season thanks for up loading this Fonjil brought back a lot of great memories now if I could just find some of the episodes..
I do not think that Vicki's father hated Jack. I think he just talked down to him because he thought that he was not good enough for his only daughter.
They mimicked the British script for this series and the spin offs from day one. Even in the British series, the Ropers had their own show. It was called George and Helen I think.
It was the spinoff to Three's Company, which lasted just one season. If you watched the last few episodes of Three's Company, you might remember Jack's relationship with a stewardess, named Vicki. On Three's A Crowd, although not married, the two shared a place and were happy together, despite the fact that her father couldn't stand Jack. It was so stupid!!
I think it didnt work because the Three's Company audience had moved on and weren't willing to take another version of the same show. Another reason was you pretty much knew what the show was going to be like....Jack and Vicki would live together but would never marry, and Vicki's dad would never like Jack, no matter what Jack did....in other words, the premise would never ever change...at least with Frasier, there were several sub-plots you could build off of. Three's a Crowd wasnt like that
@panteirra84 Chris Mann stated in his Three's Company book that Jack & Vicky would've married in the 2nd season if there had been one. When ABC would only commit to 13 eps instead of the normal 22 for season 2, the producers elected to end the show after 1 season.
Jack was never meant to be shacked up with 1 girl, that's why it failed. They should've put Jack and Larry in the same apartment and brought the Ropers back.
@shelton705 Yeah no surprise that Three's a Crowd failed....there were no familiar faces like Janet, Chrissy, Larry, Mr. Furley(although I liked his comedic timing)Cindy, Mr. Angelino(I liked how his temper flared around Jack)
@themostrandomchick24 Watching it now on Antenna TV - do you have an affiliate of that network in your area? If you do, they air it and The Ropers in sequence with the run of Three's Company (The Ropers is inserted to run where these characters leave Three's Company, and Three's a Crowd is inserted to air after the last episode of Three's Company)
@kbirdus Yes, but initially, most shows strive to be good. If they're lucky enough to become a success, the producers will often make writing and casting choices that go against the grain of the show in a vain attempt to stay "fresh." Spin-offs are often done for the same reason. They expand the show and its characters beyond the realm of credibility, and soley so they can cash in on it. The audience, however, will only respond if a show is good. Once it "jumps the shark," they're gone.
@stiffkids2006 Well, to some degree it looks genetically-warped enough to be the work of the Bastards at MONSANTO!!!! :-D :-D :-D But I do like the show and intro song... :-)
@ClassicTVful I could see more chemistry between Jack and Janet than with Jack and Vicki. I think Jack and Vicki looked very good as a couple, but Vicki's fear of a commited relationship made it seem like she and Jack were going nowhere in their relationship. I think Janet would've accepted Jack's proposal if he proposed to her
If you saw the season six episode in where Jack and Janet went on a date, set up by a computer, and everything went flat. Their chemistry was better as friends than as lovers.
Ive been humming this song since 1985 and finally found it! its like running into an old best friend after 25 years-wow Does anybody know who sings the song?
Actually from the few episodes I've seen on Antenna tv, this show wasn't that bad!Mary Cadorette was quite hot! The trouble was everything had already been done to death on Three's Company!
itiswhatitaint anditaintwhatitis no the show was really bad and made absolutely no sense at all.A grown woman who wants to play house yet flatout refuse to marry her lover because her parents marriage didn't work out GTFOH lmao 😂.
Three's a Crowd is funny in it's own way. It's problem is that it had to live up to the high expectations of the fans of Three's Company and it just never really had the chance to be itself because the audience, I think, wanted it to be a carbon copy of the kinds of humor and jokes that worked on Three's Company but wouldn't work on the spin-off program.
ACcountryFan It's a spin-off/continuation of Three's Company but the twist was it was about Jack Tripper's life in a relationship after he moved away from his female roommates. It was never supposed to carry the same concepts of Threes Company at all. It's a entirely different show period point blank Fam. I liked the show and watched every single episode too.
The spinoff was very crappy....the biggest reason why Three's Company ended was the fact that 1) the writers and creators of the show were running out of story ideas, and 2) the show was declining in the ratings...the show's 7th and final year was #35 (prior to that, the show was never worse than #8 for a full season). All of that makes it puzzling why a spinoff was necessary. They probably thought John Ritter alone could make the show work, but the audience had moved on.
well, that was her fault....Suzanne Somers' greed is what did it...she got bad advice from her husband and wanted Alan Alda and Carroll O'Connor-type money per episode, cuz she thought she was the star of the show, which wasnt going to happen...constant absences forced the rest of the cast to memorize 2 different scripts, cuz ABC didnt know when she was going to show... ABC had NO other choice but to terminate her. It sucks, cuz the show wasnt the same after her, but ABC had to do it!
I think the lead actress was the problem and the supporting character. They should have cast a more comical actress and a another female to be her friend.
Gee, what a surprise "Three's a Crowd" only lasted one season! LMAO, you can tell it's going to be crap by the intro. This is what happens when TV producers start creating shows for profit, rather than quality. They also ruined "Three's Company" by giving the Ropers their own spin-off. Mr. Furley wasn't half as funny as the Ropers were. "Three's Company" ended up becoming a victim of its own success.
Three's a crowd was alright, but wasn't anywhere near as good as Three's Company. Vicki not wanting to marry Jack over her parent's divorce kinda killed the show.
ever notice how lame the spinoff themes were. the ropers and this show , terrible theme songs. i mean three's a crowd is so sappy and corny - typical of cheap writing and so was the ropers
@deknaj ever since seeing mary cadorette on three's company i fell in love with her an d so watched her during three's a crowd, and the game shows and i'm glad her career continued on in movies, even remember her resturant. she was also miss connecticut 1975 her hometown! beautiful lady!
On SKY CHANNEL Three's A Crowd was called Three's Company Too
i didnt say they were original ideas...i just remember back in the mid 80s hearing why the show got cancelled...and that was it

John Ritter and Richard O'Sullivan look like twins!
@shelton705 I actually liked Furley more than the Ropers.
One of the alltime bedt theme songs ever.the american version.
i've never seen this opening credits of Three's a Crowd before, but i love it better than the one they show on Antenna TV
@panteirra84 Chris Mann stated in his Three's Company book that Jack & Vicky would've married in the 2nd season if there had been one. When ABC would only commit to 13 eps instead of the normal 22 for season 2, the producers elected to end the show after 1 season.
@fromthesidelines So THAT'S why they let Jenilee Harrison hang around for a second season, heh heh... :-)
Jack was never meant to be shacked up with 1 girl, that's why it failed. They should've put Jack and Larry in the same apartment and brought the Ropers back.

I like the uk version obviously
I have read a lot of posts by people who think that that would have been a good climax. Very interesting.
the three's a crowd intro creeps me out.
yes, it could...as bad as those stations are now, Three's a Crowd had absolutely nothing to offer and had a short shelf life as a result
@TheNewRiflemanBob I agree.. I thought the show was better when the Ropers & Chrissy left.
I always thought the same. Three's A Crowd was so stupid.
@kbirdus

The up side to this show was Mary Cadorette in lingerie almost every week and what a pair of legs on her
@ClassicTVful I could see more chemistry between Jack and Janet than with Jack and Vicki. @shelton705 Hate to break it to you, but all shows on commercial TV are created for profit.
i thought This show had the samme them as three,s company?
Robin's Nest has a much less stupid opening.

why is it that i always want to vomit when i see the intro for and American sitcom

i agree....one dumb show! im shocked it last as long as 22 episodes
Three's a Crowd theme stinks, just like the show.
Three's a Crowd was a low budget piece of crap.
This show sucked.
