- SO you need to know what options you have to capture packets at the NSX Edge Node. We will cover a packet wlk and do a live demo on using the NSXCLI start Capture command to view live traffic in real time or to capture to a file..

Your course content is awesome thanks for teaching us
Glad you enjoy it! Have a good one
Thank you so much. This is great. Really appreciate this.
You're very welcome!.. Thanks for watching and have a great day...
thanks for your efforts
It's my pleasure. Keep watching more to come
Nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Steve, thanks for your content. Its help me a lot. Just a question, in NSX 3.1 deployed on GCP/GCVE, "Live Traffic Analysis" GUI is not available, just Trace Flow, is it related to license or version? Thanks a lot
Hello.. Live traffic Analysis I believe was introduced in 3.2, definitely in 4.x. LTA does not work with the Edge interfaces. Hope this helps and have a great day.
@@TechUnGlued Thanks a lot Steve.
Thank you so much. very informative. How Can I check the logs for dropped packets by uRPF? I have a bunch of packets getting dropped by RPF, Is there any way to troubleshoot to find out which packets are getting dropped?!
Not sure about filtering specifically for uRPF packets.. A few things to get for dropped packets are the "get network-stats" command on the edge node.. or if you go directly into the SR of the G/W (shown in this video) you can run the "get interface stats" command.. Again not sure if it will show specific dropped packets for uRFP. Other tools like vRNI should be able to help out if you are using that.. Also if your T0 G/W is A/A and using ECMP you want to disable uRFP on the G/W Interfaces or it will drop packets.. LAst things you can look at the syslog file on the edge node. May want to use Log Insight.. Hope this helps, keep us posted. Have a good one..
Just posted this. ua-cam.com/video/V5btsaKKLp0/v-deo.html
Hi thanks for your content, i have question. What is benefits of we had multi segment and separate web,app and db. And if we not separate those and combine in one segment is a bad idea?
That's a really good question. Technically before NSX we segmented workloads out and used the routers ACL (Access Control List) to restrict traffic between the different Tiers.. Now with NSX Microsegmentation (Distributed Firewall Firewall) I could put the workloads on the same segment and isolate them right down to LAyer 2 with the DFW.. So to answer your question, I would say no... But most people are use to doing it in different segments and don't really want to change that, which is ok too.. Have a great day...
please teach service insertion as well
Ok. I will add it to the list.. Have a good one.
Please make a video on nsx load balancer and AVI load balancer. Thanks in advance
Noted. I will see if I can do a video on the differences. Have a great day
@@TechUnGlued Thanks for the acknowledgement. Please make separate video on both topics Avi and nsx load balancer rather than differences.
I will see what I can do.. Have a great day
@@TechUnGlued Thanks for your response
Have a great day.
please make a video on ESXI host package capture
Sorry. Can you elaborate on that? Not sure what the request is for. Thanks
@@TechUnGlued I think he is talking about packet capture at Transport Node which you have already explained.
