Just built mine up and man it's a thing of beauty this. Fit is lovely, paint finish and weathering, accessories are great. Not gonna bother using the stand as I can't be arsed to work out how to adjust it.
The sculpting, articulation and panel lining is exquisite on this guy, I may just have to pick him up. The weathering looks fine, I don't like the speckles on the crotch plate, but otherwise it looks nice. Still a super impressive kit. and the Starscream they're putting out next also looks fantastic, I'm probably getting him. And on Facebook they hinted at a Marvel-comic redeco of Megatron, which if true I am SUPER excited for because I'm all about "yellow-eyes blue-for-black helmet" Megs.
@2:16 This is why you should wear steel toed sneakers!! They're light & breathable like a sneaker, but they've got steel armor, to defend ones toeses!! 😂🥃

I never understand people that complain about models/special figures that don't transform, it's not like they don't have a billion options for an Optimus that DOES transform.

I’m slowly moving to non transforming Transformers. I never transform them more than once anyway. I have both Prime and Megs and they’re the best looking TF Bot modes for the price. These are the figures to have if you want to represent the new comics run haha

I laughed at the "light our darkest hallways" I love this figure my only issue with him was when they put that round board that has his LEDS they put it in sideways so one LED was behind the eyes the other was behind the face plate. I have since fixed it the other issue is light bleeding into his head so his whole head glows. I plan on taking the head apart and painting the blue parts inside black and the inside of his face silver. Oh if you want to fix the 'dead eyes' paint the clear blue with Tamiya metallic blue (for prime) and metallic red (for megs).
I love mine. The only real issue with this figure is that the ankles and feet are hard to position properly flat. It takes work to get him to stand flat and straight up.
Wish it would have transformed that would have been awesome that is so cartoon accurate. It would be cool if he had like a trailer kind of stand for him to sit in
Come on, always prime! How about a bad ass HOUND or Red Alert! I have so many Primes. From mp1 to mp 44 to magic square (so I can have a prime to mess with)...let's switch it up!

After so many figures I'm just left kinda confused o.O I love optimus as much as the next person but uh..yea...just another G1 prime. Nothing against ur review Emgo, love your stuff. But yeaa..if it was a less used prime design I could see the interest but im sure we all have tons of G1 primes.
I agree to a certain extent, the main reason I want it is because it’s a REALLY good looking figure that doesn’t cost that much, probably because of the non-transformation aspect of this one, which I don’t mind. I would buy a Magic Square Prime, but the one I want is always outta stock. 😢
You'd be right, if skybound didn't make this version even more popular with their new comics. Not to mention you can give him the look he has in those comics with this figure.
Like the other person said Transformers Skybound has EXPLODED in popularity and this is one of the few optimuses with weathering that gives it the same feel of the grittiness of the Skybound comics. Plus you can change his arm out to megatrons with the fusion cannon to recreate the already iconic “How about going on the offensive?” pose. It’s just perfect for a skybound or more “realistic” G1 display
It's not just this figure/model, but the design itself. It's becoming oversaturated to the point where fans are starting to appreciate the other iterations (Beast Wars, RiD2001, Unicron Trilogy, Animated, Prime, etc.) that isn't G1. Granted, this year is the 40th anniversary of the franchise, we can hold off and wait for a bit until more modern remakes of said other iterations can have their chance to shine. We've been spoiled with them in Legacy, hoping for more that doesn't pander to the slowly decrepit and decaying obnoxious Geewunners (the bad kind of G1 fans).
You seem to forget that the g1 one design is never realised EXACTLY. it's always stylised in some way. There are like THREE absolutly accurate g1 cartoon prime. And i dont know about you but i can't afford mp44. And it's also the 40th anniversary of transformers.
Not trying to be a troll but genuinely want to know. Why buy something that doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to do: transform. Especially when you have transforming pieces that look as good if not better than the statues.
One, this isn’t a statue and I buy these because I like them and there’s room in my collection for all things transformers whether they transform or not. I keep an open mind and buy what makes me smile.
For the eyes why don't they use transparent blue plastic so that way the eyes can always be blue! Kind of dumb like you already have the blue plastic why not use it for the eyes!? 🤷🏻
I mean, he looks absolutely great, and the build it yourself aspect seems fun… But a Transformer that doesn’t transform just doesn’t do it for me. 🤷♂️

I have both the Prime and Megatron. I am looking forward to their planned Starscream. They are like the perfect transformers minus the transformation.

The dead eyes kill it. And there’s no excuse for that. You can do lights and still have the eyes painted.
